Scenario WITH Register Rewards 7/4!

by Christie Bisbee on July 3, 2010

Here is my scenario for someone WITH Register Rewards. In this scenario you’d spend $.87 out of pocket (OOP) and get $31.35 in merchandise. You would start with $15 in Register Rewards and end up with $14 in Register Rewards! Not bad.

A FEW POINTS ABOUT THESE SCENARIOS
– The regular price of the Reach toothbrushes will vary slightly. Remember the Reach toothbrush deal lasts till 7/24! If you don’t have the B1G1 Reach ANY toothbrush coupons, I saw lot’s of auctions on ebay for them, like this one HERE.

– I used only $3 RR to pay for these scenarios because it’ probably what you have the most of if you shopped last week. (AirPlus, Blistex, Noxzema, Celcius, etc.) However in transactions #2 or #3 you can change that depending on what else you have. (For example you could use a $5 RR Flexitol and a $1 RR Sure instead).

– I’ll probably add some additional scenarios over the weekend once I try out some things tomorrow, but these should get your wheels turning!

Have Fun! 🙂

Hi, just wanted to let you know that at my local Walgreen’s when I bought 4 crystal clean brushes and used the B1G1 reach toothbrush coupon and 2 of the $1. off coupons that I printed from the Reach website, the register beeped and the dollar off coupons wouldn’t go thru. According to the clerk the B1G1 coupon wouldn’t allow any other offers. I can’t remember where I got the B1G1 coupon, had it quite a while; exp. date was 12/31/10.

Cheryl – The issue is the printable Reach coupons from the REACH website. They beep because for whatever reason they are coded for Listerine, even though they are clearly for REACH. It’s not that you can’t use 2 – $1 off coupons in the deal.

That’s exactly why I didn’t list them as an option in my scenarios, just trying to remove the beep factor for everyone. If you use the insert ones I listed or the $2/2 from coupons.com from about a month ago you’ll be fine. I’m surprised the clerk didn’t say you couldn’t use them because there was a full moon out or it was raining or because you were wearing blue. 😉

Hi Christie,
Thank you for your hard work! I love your site. I visit it more than once a day..lol=)
I just came back from Wags today and was a little disappointed the Noxzema razors and Sure deodorant did not print out any RR. I was even more surprise the Noxzema razor cost $6.99. I guess the 4days sale does not apply to San Diego, California.=(

Hi Amy – Sorry about that. I’d say return both the Razors and the Sure deodorant. If it rang up $6.99 it certainly wasn’t part of the 4 day deal! Your area must not have been participating. Bummer!

Hi. I’ve had an issue using B1G1 coupons AND an additional value coupon on the item I’m not getting free. I’ve found that if you ring the value off coupons BEFORE the B1G1 there is no problem. So the order matters.

I went to Walgreens yest and bought toothpaste (75 coupon) toothbrush (2.00 coupon) dishwashing cleaner (1.00 coupon) and pads ( free coupon) I then tried to use a 2RR and a 1 RR to pay the remaining 5.00 balance. It wasn’t dipping into tax, and the machine beeped. The lady said they couldn’t take them because I couldn’t have more coupons than items. Is this new? I’ve never had this problem before. Looking back I shoulda grabbed two little caramels or something to use two more coupons but I was too flustered at the time.

Rachelle – She is correct. The register won’t allow you to use more coupons (and RR are considered coupons) than items. That’s where the fillers come in. You can read more about it HERE.

When doing the scenarios do you need to use fillers??? I see that you have the same number of items as coupons. I thought that you needed a filler to make the RR print.

Hi Tasha – There actually are fillers in each scenario (the Penway Yellow Pencils, Paper Mate Mechanical Pencils or 10pk Pens). You need the fillers to be able to use the number of coupons I use. So if I have 10 MQ total (RR included), I need to have 10 items. If only have 8 items then I use 2 fillers.

You can have as many coupons as you do items, you just can’t have more coupons than items. The register rewards will print in each of these scenarios. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply!!! I just thought that the RR that was going to print counted in the number of coupons. I have had trouble with them printing out before so I always have more items than I have coupons to make sure they print.

No problem! 🙂 Better safe than sorry right! I always have an extra filler in my cart just in case something unexpected happens at the register! If I end up not needing it I just put it back.
