I had a huge surprise today when I went to Walgreens to pick up the cheap Purex! Turns out the new $1/2 Purex coupon is working like a Walgreens coupon and not a Manufacture’s coupon. And it actually took off $1 from each of the Purex in my transaction not $1/2 – and it worked on both the Purex Ultra Packs and the Liquid. I have NO idea how long this is going to last – but this is how it worked for me…
Walgreens Deals
Buy (2) Purex 18pk Ultra Packs or 24 – 33 loads $1.99 each
(1) $1.00 on (2) Purex 50 oz. Liquid or 18 ct. UltraPacks (68130) (Took of $2)
Total = Just 99¢ Each!

Same for me Christie bought 6 all together, read somewhere else that the Walgreens coupon was taking $1 off of each detergent, so I thought that it was working as an IVC like some others in the past. Tried to use the one that expires today but it beeped than I gave the new one from today and took $6 off 🙂
Mine wouldn’t scan at all. Only $1 per coupon when they keyed it in.
That must have been the old coupon. The one I posted today is different – and will take off for each one in your transaction!
What was the code ?? Can I have the cashier type it in???
I did a really good deal with razors. I bought four Gillette proglide fusion razors and one proglide shave gel. It totalled 41.95. I use 4 $3.00 razor coupons and one $2.00 shave gel coupon and it went to 27.95 and then scanned the walgreens coupon on the paper a few weeks ago and it took off 15.00. So with tax I paid $14.02 and got 7.00 register reward. So for $7.02 I got four razors and a shave gel. Awesome for college gift packs I put together for seniors.
My store manager just confirmed that this coupon was not authorized by Walgreens and that it is fraudulent. 🙁 He said the one issued prior to that was fraudulent as well, which is why it would not scan when people tried to use them for today’s sale. Makes me weary about coupons(.)com printables now. #sadface
Kimberly – sorry to break it to your store manager – but he or she has NO idea what they are talking about. There’s NO way that coupon is fraudulent.
The code on the coupon is programmed as an IVC – which means that Walgreens itself had to program it into it’s system.
Furthermore, coupons.com only puts up coupons they are PAID to put up. LOL.
Totally agree! I’ve had manager’s tell me the most absurd untrue things. They don’t want to admit if they don’t know the answer, so they will just make something up. Coupons.com is a secure and reputable site. Not fraudulent.
Thank you for posting this deal! I jumped on it. Purex coupon worked flawlessly. I also had a digital coupon in my Wags app for 5k back in points wyb $20 so the deal was even better for me! Thanks Christie!
my coupon showed up and printed as $1 off 2 purex…..even using the zip code you listed?????

Underneath the copy of your Walgreens receipt, where you show the purchase minus the coupon (which is a link), it says, “(1) $1.00 on 50oz Purex Liquid or 18 count Ultra packs. I guess maybe the /2 got left off?
Updated – TY. To be clear it prints as $1/2 but works like an IVC and makes them each 99¢ each. Tried it again today and still working.
I just printed the coupon and it says $1 off 2. How is that one working?
I have no idea why it’s doing that – I’m just reporting back what it’s doing at the register.
I also have a spend $20 get 5000 br deal attached to my br account. If I did this deal with multiple purex along with other items… My total before manf qs and AFTER any Ivc (like how this purex one is showing up) subtotal has to be $20 or over right? Thanks for your help!
Hi Christine – Yes normally that’s how that works – just as you described – BEFORE mq and after IVC. And yes, assume the Purex is an IVC. 🙂
It worked for me! I picked up four and made the mistake of giving her two coupons. She kept trying to figure out why the second didn’t go through. I noticed it took off on all 4, so i was like it’s fine.
Thanks Christine for the heads up! I had some RR’s expiring today so went and purchased 12 Purex liquid detergents. Handed the cashier the $1/2 coupon which in turn the Store IVC took off $1 for each bottle bought ($12.00). Subtotal came to $2.38 after using 4 expiring RR’s, meaning each bottle cost me about 0.20 cents each. Have to love a great deal!!
Unfortunately was not able to use the coupon. My Walgreens had an email from their district manager (which they allowed me to read) that states that Walgreens stores are not supposed to accept the coupons. Apparently they are a “mistake” coupon and Walgreens won’t be refunded for them. FYI
Maybe this is me being overly skeptical but this sounds a lot like when they had the rolls of Sparkle at Food Lion for 15 cents apiece and corporate told the stores to get rid of the sale…Please correct me if I’m wrong for any reason
Purex glitch has been fixed as of 7:00 PM
The Walgreens I work at won’t accept them either, they didn’t say anythng about an email from corporate, they just think the coupon is fraudulent
Yep, that’s what all of the managers at the stores here in Indianapolis are saying, too. :-/
I can confirm that the coupon is now taking off $1/2. Still a great deal $1.49 each after the coupon. Thanks again Christie!
Last evening I bought 4 Purex and used one of the new coupons for$1.00 off 2, it took off 50 cents for each bottle. I told the cashier that I heard it was a Walgreens coupon instead of a Wags coupon so she took another $1.00 off.so it ended up 4 bottles for $4.96 or $1.24 each.
