Walgreens: Updates From the Field 2/10

by Christie Bisbee on February 10, 2013

Listerine freeHere are some updates from my trip today to help your trip go a bit easier!

LISTERINE DEAL: I had no issues with this deal, just make sure you are grabbing the right bottle, which is the one shown here. None of the other varieties of whitening were working at my store.

Buy (1) Listerine Mouthwash 1 liter or Whitening Rinse 16 oz $3.99
$2/1 LISTERINE® WHITENING® Product 16oz+ (Zip 33033)
Total = $1.99, Get Back $2
= FREE! 🙂

MITCHUM DEAL: There were a couple of Mitchum ladies deodorants marked as $1.99 on clearance. They rang up regular price however, my cashier was kind enough to price modify because they were clearly marked $1.99.  They produced the Register Reward, so a $2 money maker for me! Just be aware that they may ring up regular price in your store.

CHLORASEPTIC DEAL: The Chloraseptic coupon in the February book doesn’t work for the warming one that’s free this week, although the sizes fit. However, it’s still FREE without it so, who am I to complain! 😉 For those of you following my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for this week, I didn’t include it so you won’t have to make any adjustments.

Almay productsALMAY DEAL: Be careful, some of the Almay products are not ringing up $6.99 and therefore not printing the register reward. Just make sure that the one you select rings up $6.99 and you should be good. I can’t wait to try these, I love that they pick out the best colors for your eye color and tell you exactly how to use it. It’s like eyeshadow for dummies. 🙂

So how did your shop go? Find any great deals? Let us know!

I did the mitchum deal and it rang up correctly, also i asked the store manager about the chloreseptic and was told if it didn’t work they would push it through because there was no exclusion on the coupon. It didn’t go through but they did correct it, so it may be a good idea to ask the manager before you buy it without the coupon and see if you get the same result as i did.

I did the same thing and had no problem either. Awesome deals this week.

yeah- me too! My store pushed it through because they agreed it was a match. I did buy the wrong listerine, but I took it back and got the correct one. Warning: my stores only carried 2 or 3 of the correct one! I had to go hunting to get 4.

When I went to Walgreens, they didn’t have the chloraseptic spray, and the soup was 2/$5 🙁 I decided to try another one, and the soup was 2/$4 there. The coupon for the spay didn’t work for me either, but the manager gave it to me because the coupon said it was good on the 6 oz spray. Maybe since it’s a new product the coupon in the book didn’t register?

Someone mentioned last week that there were supposed to be new $ off $$ coupons printing today and tomorrow. Has anyone gotten one?

I got one for 5000 points for any purchase over $30 and one printed for $5 off $30 they are good from 2/17/13-2/23/13. Not sure what triggered them. Both of my transactions were over $20 before coupons.

I got one last night for $5 off 30 and it is good thru Saturday. I purchased the Fiber Choice tablets and the nestle candy and my total was under $2.

My store pushed the $2 cpn thru. Said that is was not being recongized because it is a new product. I did the Mitchum, Soup and the Listerine deals and had no problems. I ended rolling my RR and got $66.10 in items for $6.81. I went to 2 different stores. One did not have any of the sale tags up but everything rang up the right price.

I got a $5/$30 purchase coupon/Catalina today valid 2/17/13-2/23/13. Out of like 15 transactions I got it only once.

daChickenman February 10, 2013 at 3:48 pm

One of my stores would not push the 2 cpn through saying it was only for the original (red) variety. Unfortunately the other three store didn’t have any in stock. No problems with the listerine (after a near prob grabbing the wrong one).

The Listerine bottle, marked Refresh also works, that one rings up $3.99. I did the deal twice today

The bottle marked Restore or Restoring, DOESN”T WORK

They really didn’t have a lot of Listerine Bottles

I got a thing that printed and it says spend $30 or more receive 5,000 BRP. Valid 2/17-2/23

I was out early this morning and did the soup, Almay and Mitchum deal-all worked perfectly but like some earlier comments, the manager did an override on the Chloroseptic deal because they could see no reason why it shouldn’t work, so I was lucky enough to get the money maker deal on that.

I can’t see the $2 off Listering coupon anymore, even using the zip code provided. Anybody else have better luck?

I think it is gone. I printed it from my other computer and my printer ran out of ink so I went to print again today and I can’t find it either.

In the past, even though Walgreens coupons may have said “limit 6,” the registers would allow you to purchase more as long as your individual store would allow it. Is that still the case now that we have to scan our card, or do they keep track of that with our card now? Could I buy more than 6 in one transaction? In multiple transactions? I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

At my wags i can get more as long as i do separate transactions. Like today i used the dawn dish soap as a filler, i bought 9 bottles and got one per transaction but the coupon said limit 3.

My Walgreen’s manager said that Walgreen’s was working on the chloraseptic spray $2.00 coupon. The systems was not recognizing the warming spray and that the system would be fixed. So the manager put back the ones I special ordered for a Monday transaction.

I didn’t have trouble with any of the items today. Everything went smoothly and I even repeated some of the deals because I had more coupons! All in all a great day of shopping. Thanks for sharing your scenarios.

I have heard of the walgreen coupon books, how do you get them? Are they located in the store? I only see the printed advertisement at the front.

Reply

Sandy February 10, 2013 at 10:59 pm

Usually, the Walgreen’s coupon book and the weekly ad are located in the same spot, near the front door. If you look inside the front cover you will see an alphabetical listing of the coupons in the book and what page they can be found. Makes for a quick reference.

I did the Listerine deal and the Chloraseptic warming spray deal twice. The cashier did a price adjustment on the Wags coupon for the spray for me as well. Plenty of the Chloraseptic in stock. There were a couple of bottles of Listerine on the shelf but, I found plenty more on the top shelf where they keep additional stock. Look up if you find the shelves emply.

I got two of the $5 off $20 coupons and a 10,000 pts when you buy $30 worth coupon.

The MQ would not work today in store for the Chloraseptic for me (the $1/1) which would have just made it free with the RR. I was not even trying the Wags Q with it. MQ says “ANY” on it but grumpy cashier called over manager who didn’t even try it before saying “No, it’s not valid” and walked off. Neither of them even read the Q or let me say anything.

My Wags would not accept the Chloreseptic coupon in Feb. coupon book bc it didnt say Warming Spray… The Almay eye shadow is Great…Been using it for over a year and always stock up and either get it free or really cheap. Got a bunch of it on Black Friday… Love Love Love it!!!!

My store adjusted the price of the Chloraseptic to $1.99 with the Wags Q ($3 RR still printed). The cashier and manager said the Q is a match but that the product is new, which is why the Q was not scanning on the product.

Also got Advil Congestion Relief (bought four for best Q + points deal + $6 mail-in rebate), Quaker oats (Q + points), Mitchum (not clearanced Q + RR), Go soup (Q + RRs, Listerine Whitening (Q + RR, Russel Stover singles ($.39 each), and tuna fish ($1.25), not a great price, but helped me roll RR with something).

I did several smaller transactions in two storesto roll RR and because one had no soup and the other had no Listerine. I got a $5/$30 coupon on one transaction and a 5,000 points wyb $30 coupon on another; both Qs are for purchases made between 2/17-2/23. Not every transaction printed one, and there did not seem to be any pattern as to what triggered one.

I bought 5 whitening listerine and didn’t get RR or Catalina or bonus points, wasn’t I supposed to? And they would not take the $2 wags q on the chlor aseptic 🙁

Reply

cherynnnia February 11, 2013 at 4:37 pm

I think you had to buy six to get the bonus points because you have to spend $20 and $3.99 x 5 is only $19.95. But you should have got a $4 catalina for buying 2 or more listerine whitening.

rr are rolling on the almay i went to walgreens this morning and picked up two almay i-intense eye color i did two seperate transaction the first i paid with rr from the listerine $4.00 so .99 cent oop and with the second transation i used the rr that printed from buying the 1st almay and the cashier told me that the rr wouldn’t print if i use it to buy the same product which i already knew that, i was just trying to lower my oop expense and guess what $4.00 rr came again WOW.

mia February 11, 2013 at 12:17 pm

I bought two of the listerine zero with also came op on sale but no rr printed. I think the 1 lt for $2 is a great price but free is even better. I don’t know if is only working for the whitening.

Reply

cherynnnia February 11, 2013 at 4:39 pm

The catalina is only on the whitening. I caught myself at the last minute from buying the wrong one.

I have visited three Wags and found that Listerine Whitening Original sells for $3.99 as pictured above. All other Listerine Whitening are at regular price. The $2 coupon we all printed last week is good for three kinds of Listerine Whitening. The Listerine Whitening Original (as pictured above) is NOT listed as one of the products on the coupon.

I have verified this on Walgreens website as well.

Walgreens.com has a $2 Walgreens coupon for chloraseptic that you can stack with the manf. coupon. I used these today and they both went thru without any problems. Loved it!
