If you don’t have health insurance or your insurance doesn’t offer much coverage for your medication, then you may want to consider the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. Members get special discounts off the cash price of thousands of brand-name and generic medications as other great benefits.
And right now thru 1/31/2013 they are offering a $15 bonus on memberships! Memberships are $20 for individuals or $35 for a family per year. So that’s like $5 for an individual or $20 for a family after the bonus.
The $15 bonus will be credited to your Prescription Savings Club account if you remain enrolled for 31 days after paying membership fees. It then basically becomes a $15 credit that you can use in store.
Even though I have insurance one medication I take is $20 via insurance and only $5 a month with the Walgreens savings plan, so it’s like saving $180 on that medication alone! Way more than the cost of my membership. 🙂
Plus you can’t really go wrong, since this is a risk-free membership. If you don’t save at least the cost of your prescription card membership fee in one year, they’ll give you the difference. Here are some of the perks…
- Valuable discounts on thousands of brand-name and most generic medications
- Between 5 and 20% discounts on most immunizations
- 10% bonus on purchases of Walgreens Brand and Nice! products
- 10% bonus on in-store photofinishing services
- 10% savings on services from Take Care ClinicsSM at select Walgreens
- Additional prescription discounts on pet medications with a human equivalent
Please Note: Persons receiving benefits from Medicare, Medicaid or other federal or state healthcare programs are ineligible. Membership may be cancelled within 30 days of issue date for a full refund. For complete terms and conditions, click here. This program isn’t insurance.
