Walgreens: Updates From the Field 1/13

by Christie Bisbee on January 13, 2013

Here are some updates fro my trip today that will hopefully make your trip a bit easier!

ESTROVEN: I had no issues with the $2 coupon in the Walgreens Vitamins and Supplements book on the Estroven. My store was also very well stocked for this product. If you use the Renew Life $10 RR to pay for the Estroven you should be fine (that’s what I did), however I have heard from some of you that the i-Health $10 RR prevented the $10 Estroven RR from printing. So, be careful not to use the i-Health RR to pay.

HIGH-T TESTOSTERONE: I spotted these on a display on an endcap but didn’t see a space for them on the shelf. So, if you are looking for this item, check the endcaps.

LIPTON TEA: If you don’t want the Pure Leaf Lipton Tea, you can also buy the Regular Lipton Green tea or Diet Green tea for the $1 Register Reward. I was excited to see that Pure Leaf offers an unsweetened variety! Can’t wait to taste it. I found the Pure Leaf in a display and the regular Lipton in the refrigerated section.

CREST RINSE: There were two kinds of Crest Pro-Health Rinse marked or the Register Reward deal. The regular Crest Pro-Rinse and then one called Pro-Health for Life, marketed to those 50+. I have no idea what the difference is but if you don’t find (3) of the regular Crest Pro-Rinse you can grab the other variety for the deal. At just $0.16 each after coupons and points, I don’t mind either kind! 😉

MANGODRIN EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS: Maybe it’s just me but I couldn’t find this anywhere in my store. Hopefully some of you had better luck!

WALGREENS DIAPERS & WIPES: I also found a neat filler in a display on an endcap. It’s a trial pack of Walgreens diapers (includes 2) and a 14pk of wipes. For those of you who haven’t tried these, it’s a nice way to test them out without having to buy a pack. Plus if you have a Walgreens prescription savings card, you can get a 10% off discount and try these for $0.90.

So what deals did you find today? How did your shop go? Let us know! 🙂

The MANGODRIN EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS was on an end cap at my store

Laurie Gentry January 13, 2013 at 8:12 pm

On the Diaper trial packs there is a $1 off a pack of wipes and diapers inside. Also, when trying to buy these and using my savings prescription card it wouldn’t work and nobobody at Walgreens knew what I was talking about with getting the 10% discount. Does anyone know how this works?

Reply

Christie January 13, 2013 at 10:27 pm

Yes, they have to scan the card and then the next time you buy something you’ll have a $0.10 credit you can use on your purchase (or whatever 10% is of what you bought). 🙂 And that’s AWESOME about the coupons inside.

I found the Mangodrin Extreme Weight loss at my Walgreens. I noticed that it is 30 capsules and your supposed to take 2 a day so only a 15 days supply but FREE 🙂

Did anyone have a problem paying with the $7 rr from the fish oil to get any of the new rr’s?

Reply

Deborah January 14, 2013 at 12:37 am

I used it to pay for the estroven with no problem.

Reply

Heather January 13, 2013 at 8:20 pm

I couldn’t find the mangodrin, Either.

Kerri R. January 13, 2013 at 8:30 pm

I could not find the diet pills either. The manager told me that they are doing a reset this week on the diet aid section and it will probably be there after that happens (and she said that they had a truck waiting to be unloaded in the back).

I did have a problem with the Estroven as well (I used the $2 coupon) with it. The manager gave me a mail in form and I sent it in. Does this mean I will NOT be getting my money back? Anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

Ashleigh Harris January 14, 2013 at 2:04 pm

Basically you just fill out the form, mail it in, & they send you the RR (via mail) that you should have gotten. I don’t get how that is fair, since we have to pay for the stamp and the envelope!

I had to ask for the mangodrin at my store they only got 2 in and there was NOT a spot for it anywhere she stuck the only other one on the top overstock shelf

Reply

rashelle January 13, 2013 at 8:35 pm

the diet pills were on the same endstand as the High T at my store. i had no problem rolling any rr at all today.
thanks for all you do Christie. 🙂

In my store I found the Mangodrin on the shelf but it was not marked as a RR, the High T Testosterone was on the stock shelf also unmarked, but they did roll and print. The only issue I had was that the Estoven coupon in the Vitamin & Minerals book kept showing up as a MQ and not a store Q. They went ahead and did it, I am looking forward to trying the tea and my store was well stocked. Happy couponing everyone!

Reply

Sam H January 13, 2013 at 10:45 pm

That coupon is really a manufacturer’s coupon. You can tell by the bar code. Store coupons have a bunch of zeros and then 4 numbers that matter.

Reply

alex January 13, 2013 at 10:32 pm

The store i went to they had to go upstairs and get the Mangodrin as it was not on the floor…(i went at 1pm!!!)

Reply

sharell January 13, 2013 at 10:33 pm

The tea RR would not print at my store, we tried all three kinds. My store only had 2 of the High T pills and NO Mangodrin at all but they did have a handful of the Estroven but no books. lol oh well.

Reply

laura January 13, 2013 at 10:58 pm

The magodrin is not a basic item for walgreens so they do not keep it w/ the other diet items. Some stores will have a display of it somewhere and others you’ll just have to ask where they have it or any at all. Mine you have to ask someone and they will get it for you from the stockroom.

Something weird always happens to me at Walgreens. LOL!

Today, I bought (6) 3 Musketeers bars and a bunch of other stuff. The cashier scanned everything and all of my coupons went through, until I handed her my Register Rewards. The register said something like “Coupon value exceeds item” but my total was $21 and I was using $12 in RR.

I scrolled back up on the pin pad and somehow (3) of the 3 Musketeers bars were voided off of my transaction. We ended up voiding the transaction and starting over. Thought I was going to crash the register for a minute! 😉

Tricia January 14, 2013 at 10:02 am

I have also been having “weird” things happen on my transactions on the NEW registers. Last week when I purchased the Quaker Granola bars and a couple of other items the cashier scanned the Quaker $1/2 coupons 1st and they took off the $1, but then when she scanned my first RR to pay down the balance on the other items ALL of the $1/2 Quaker coupons DISAPPEARED! This happened EVERY time I did a transaction with the Quaker coupons.

The same thing happened to me when I used the mars candy bar coupons, must be a glitch with the coupons. My total was 14.00 and I had $12.00 in register rewards still said coupon exceeded product price

My store had lots of Banana Boat lip balms with 45SPF for $.25 each, I checked but they do not have an expiration date, just a code. Does anybody know or have an idea how to figure out the expiration? TIA.

I heard on TV that their expiration date is long so you are probably good

I think she is saying that the next time she goes she will buy the Estroven, Cracker Jack’d and the Lipton Tea and that she will get back a $10, $1 and $1.50 because she is testing to see if the Cracker Jack’d is a monthly RR.

Melissa the Cracker Jack didn’t spit out an RR. I tried it twice this morning. Just to let you know.

I couldn’t find the diet pills, so I asked an associate and they looked into it and said they had none in stock and none were ordered. My Wags had a huge amount of clearance tonight. There were packs that contained 2 Maybelline Great Last Mascaras for $1 per pack as well as Covergirl Lashblast with a bonus eyeliner for $1, Maybelline Color Tattoo for $1, Maybelline eyeshadow quads for $1, Neutrogena liquid and powder foundation kits with bonus mascara for $1, Vicks
Cough and Cold medicine for $1, hair clips for 25 cents, big bags of skittles for 25 cents and some Maybelline blushes for $1. I also got L’oreal lip glosses for $1. Maybe someone else could get lucky at their stores!

I went to 4 walgreens yesterday and asked for the MANGODRIN EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS pills at all four. they did not have any at the first 2 stores and no where on the shelves for them. the last 2 stores had them in the back but once again no place on the shelf. One store would only let me buy one of them but the other store let me buy 2 when I made seperate transactions.

Im sry that just seems like alot oop for a few.things specially when ur.using 40,000 points or maybe im just used to cheap :p yesterday got 3 boxs estrovan,3 boxs weight loss,6 red bulls,4 teas,2 can olives,3 boxs cheez its,2 milky way paid just over 6 used 20,000 points but now have 25.5 n rr

Reply

lisa January 14, 2013 at 5:43 pm

If you count the 40,000 points like a RR, then I paid .98 and received a 10 RR plus a $22 rebate, which is a $32 MM. I counted the points like cash, which I still consider a great deal for all the Gillettes. Hope I clarified it.

Reply

grace January 14, 2013 at 11:44 am

why don’t you leave out the Ultimate flora in the 1st transaction, your total comes to 50.96, use your points and pay .96 cents get the 10RR, use it to pay for the flora (you need a small filler), you end up paying $7 oop, submit for rebate and it is a $13MM

Reply

noemi January 14, 2013 at 1:29 pm

she wont reach the total of $50 if she did a separate transaction for ultimate flora

I found the weight loss pills on the excess inventory shelf behind the Testosterone in the diet section. After searching for 15 minutes, I stood at the correct angle to see them hidden up there. Had to do a little climbing to reach all the way to the back.

My plan didn’t go the way I wanted to be. I have like 31,920 points. And I plan to do my first transaction for the schick product, but the disposables are not included.
I should have like 40,000+ points = $50 to use in my trip.
If not this should have been my transaction:

Naturade FlexAid Joint Formula = $20 (january mir)
Ultimate Flora – $20 (3mc) = $17 (january mir)
Estroven -$10 (2mc) = $8
Lipton = $1
Ocean Spray Cranberry bogo -$4.49-(1mc x2)= $2.49
Mars Candy, 1.34-2.17 oz(musketeers)- $0.59 x3 (.59mc)=$1.18
(b2g1 free coupon)
sesame sticker book on clearance =$.49
TOTAL = $50.16
Use 40,000 points = $50 =$ .16 + tax oop
________________________________________________________________

MONEY MAKER:
Flexaid joint formula – $2 (if you choose walgreens gc)
Ultimate Flora – $2 (if you choose walgreens gc) + $3 (coupon used)
Estroven -$2 (coupon used)

Get back:
Estroven – $10 RR
Lipton – $1 RR
________________________________________________________________
It’s like $14.84 mm.

I found a lot of bottles of the Mangodrin at my store in Springfield, MO on the endcap.

Reply

AJ January 14, 2013 at 1:35 pm

I found Mangodrin up high in the overstock section as well. They were out of the Estroven (and that was on Sunday) and they didn’t carry the Pure Leaf tea, but I’m glad to know I can get the regular kind (although there is a lot of sugar added). My store is usually out of the sale items or they don’t carry it.

Reply

Kelly B January 14, 2013 at 2:10 pm

My store had 5 of the Mango diet pills, which is what I wanted, but I agree, it is a little misleading, 30 pills but, you take 2 a day, so for my 6 month stock of them, I really need 12 jars of them. *sigh* back to hunting this week.

FYI it says on the package not to take for more than 8 weeks. Misleading when the front of the package says lose up to 28lbs in 10 weeks.

Just came back from Wags and had the 25 cent off Red Plum Lipton coupon and they told me they could not accept.
I told them it says Manufacturers and redeemable at Dollar General. Doesn’t say MUST USE at Dollar General. They told me they would not get credit for it and that I shouldn’t complain since I am getting the tea for free (after RR).
