As part of the Couponing to Community challenge, I will be posting every week a list of Walgreens Deals under $1 that would make excellent donation items.
Food pantries would be happy to get Splenda and the Stayfree Pads make also a great donation item. The cleaning supplies are also great items to donate.
You can read more about the Couponing to Community Challenge HERE. I hope you’ll decide to join me!

I have a question about the Splenda deal… I purchased some Splenda coupons on ebay and just got them in the mail today. on the $3 off coupon, it says ‘1 coupon per purchase’ Is this going to cause problems for me when i try to use more than 1 at checkout?
One per purchase means if you purchase (2) you can use (2). It would be an issue if it was (1) per transaction. Hope that helps!
oh, ok, that makes sense! Thanks so much!
IF your Walgreens had the items this week there were some great buys – mine had no Stayfree, no Luster White Toothpaste, no Splenda, no Nexcare bandages – I didn’t shop on Easter Sunday.
I found a battered women’s shelter and they said they never get feminine products but it is something they need as much as anything. I bet your readers would find the same thing.
Great Idea! 🙂
The Tilex coupon wasn’t for the fresh shower, which is what was on sale. It was for mold & mildew products 🙁
I’M JUST SAYIN’…if you are clearing the shelf to donate items, that also means that you are taking away something from a fellow couponer. A lot of your fellow couponers could use the items as much as the people that you are donating to. I know that in these times it feels good to be able to give items because we are short on money. But I am just suggesting that you do not clear the shelf “because it is a donation.” Think of what you leave on the shelf as a “donation to another couponer.” 😉
I must agree. I hate it when people clear the shelf! In our area there is a lady that hits every store when it opens and she clears the shelf, so that leaves nothing for me.
However when I do find free or cheap item I try to donate anything that my amily wil not use.

I agree also but after having a conversation with our local manager I found that they do look for those who are clearing the shelves. At my local store their policy is that you can get one or two items for the week, but encourage you to come back on Saturday and take as much as you want because it is at the end of the sale. Maybe talking to your store manager will give you a great perspective on what they are doing and how they order. You might even give them some ideas so that the shelves are stocked better. My manager stated that before January of this year they did not have “coupon problems”. It hit them so hard with the new couponers (lol) and she stated she is just catching up to ordering extras so her shelves are not empty. I like the idea that they are trying. Also, she said at the beginning of this year her store got alot of complaints from Corp. because of calls stating that their store sale items were always gone. I think that is why she is paying more attention to the order. The manager was really easy to talk to and just made me feel so much better that they are trying to do their best. Just a thought 🙂
I have been noticing a LOT more shelf clearing now that the new season of Extreme Couponing is coming on. The weird part is that it’s not even the really good sales that are getting cleared. It’s anything and everything at walmart, coupon or not.
I really just wonder if some of the people who watch it even understand why the people on the show are clearing the shelves in the first place. The kinds of things I have seen missing from the shelves this week just make no sense.
At my local Walgreens, I don’t think the problem is shelf clearers. Rather, they are advertising deals that they don’t stock. I don’t normally shop there, but I wanted to pick up a print, so I checked to see what they had on sale. Of the 5 items I wanted, they had only 2. When I asked about the items in the circular, the lady told me that she had never seen one of them before and that the family size brownie mix shown was supposed to be a snack size brownie mix. So I was only able to get one rain check, and I had to ask her specifically for one.
In fairness to Walgreens, the one time I tried shopping at CVS, I was told that the Reach Total Care brush was not a toothbruth, so I wasn’t given a raincheck for that either.
