Just wanted to ask you if you had heard of Walgreens not getting their money for some coupon’s being used? I have been couponing for way over a year now and I was at my Walgreens yesterday and the manufactered coupon I had for the Skintinmet kept “beeping”…The manager came over and looked over the coupon and could not figure out why it was not working. It took the first one just fine. Anyway, he refused to take the coupon. He said that they were getting in trouble for manualing putting in the coupon. I did not argue. I went back today and talked to a different manager and told him what happened, and he said that they have been having trouble getting paid for “certain” coupon’s being used. He also said that there are some coupon printing sites that are not printing correct coupon’s. I told him I would like to call corporate to find out more about this because I am a very honest couponer and would like to know which sites are not printing coupon’s that the store does not get reimbused. I would love to read a comment about this and see if anyone else is haveing issues. BTW I love my Walgreens and this is the first time I have EVER had a problem.
Sheryl – The only way they are not going to be reimbursed is if someone uses a fake coupon or a coupon for a product they don’t carry or they are redeeming more coupons than were sold of an item. Otherwise they will get reimbursed.
Some staff doesn’t seem to know the difference between “certain” coupons (aka fake coupons) and legitimate printables from coupons.com, etc. and sadly just lump them all together.
Thank you Christie for your reply…I am going to call corporate and see if what the manager at my store said is correct. And, I also had the problem with the Edge coupon…(both coupon’s were from the newspaper) He, (the manager) kept scanning it and it finally went through. 🙂
Last week I used 1 coupon for Edge and 1 coupon for Skintimate, both are from the newspaper insert, and BOTH beeped and had to be put in manually.
