Walgreens Updates 1/2!

by Christie Bisbee on January 2, 2011

(Thanks to Jennifer in MO for the Pic!)

After spending a very, very long day traveling I am happy to be home! Too bad there aren’t any Walgreens stores inside of airports or I could have done some serious damage considering how late all my flights were. Visiting with family is wonderful, traveling by plane… not so much. I won’t get into the painful details of our flight but needless to say I was very happy that I have a medicine cabinet full of FREE aspirin when I got home. 🙂

So today’s updates really come from your e-mails. I might still run out to the 24 hour store tonight, we’ll see how it goes.  Thanks to all of you who e-mailed your finds to me today, including Jennifer in MO whose haul is pictured above, impressive!

Children’s Oscillococcinum Flu Medicine Deal
Just like I mentioned in the Super Deals this week the $2/1 is a beeper, you should have no problems asking them to enter it for you manually since it’s for the correct product. And like we expected the $5/1 coupon does not work for the children’s (aren’t you glad you planned your transactions without it!). Yes, you might find a nice manager who puts it in manually but I suspect that the intention was for that coupon to be on the adult product. I for one am happy to have a $2 Money Maker and let that be that.

Breathe Right Cat
Looks like the Oscilloccinum and the Sinex products are prompting a catalina for FREE Breathe Right Strips (up to $7.49) for the 10 or 12ct. Yippeee!

Omega Factor 3 Deal
For those of you who found the Omega Factor 3 (apparently  in short supply) many of you reported finding a $3/1 coupon in the box! So buy (1) for FREE and then pull out the coupon inside to buy more as a $3 Money Maker each time!

Vicks Sinex
The Vicks Sinex 20ct seems to be priced anywhere from $6.99 (like my store) to $7.99 (geez!). So keep that in mind as you shop. You may even find variations in your area from one store to the next!

(Thanks to Jennifer, Marlene, Mady, Crystal, Anna & everyone else who e-mailed me)

Glad that you made it home safe and sound! Congrats on the 4.500+ people on facebook!!!!! Also, do we have a total OOP from Jennifer’s trip? Just like to know how much a haul like that costs (or doesn’t) 😉

Children’s Oscillococcinum Flu Medicine Deal the coupon does beep and when tried to put in manually by punching in the bar code it says product not found. Apparently Oscillococcinum might of made an error in the barcoding, could they have used the adult code? Anyway my store said they got an email from cooperate stating they will not allow manager overrides to manually punch in manufacture coupons. So no money maker but free is still good enough for me.

Her haul is nice but at the store I shop at that would have cleared the shelves. Free stuff is great but shelf clearing makes couponers look bad

Guest – I understand and the good news is I can tell you she didn’t go to just one store. She has a lovely super organized spread sheet she sent me with all the various trips. So I don’t know how many stores but I can tell there were several. So, no shelf clearing there. 🙂

And there are some deals like Vicks where at the $4 price you have to buy 5 just to get the $10 RR, so even doing that deal once requires a lot of product.

There were plenty of Omega Factor 3 at my store in KY and yes, there was a $3 coupon inside!! I will go back tomorrow and buy another one. This is why I check your blog!! =)

ALSO, there were some John Frieda products on clearance for $3.xx. There is a $2 coupon in 10/10 SS making it really cheap! I have 2 coupons, so I’m going to get some of that tomorrow as well!

I also got the Finish coupon. I feel like such a lucky girl right now! haha

Just discovered this sight…enjoying it!! Jennifer’s haul is awesome…in my Virginia store, this would NOT have cleared the shelves. I have an AWESOME Wags nearby and they are great about stocking the shelves with sale items and will even tranfer from another store if you ask. The employees at “my” store really go above and beyond! Thanks again for the great blog!

I’m a little confused. There isn’t a $4 or $5 Sinex producing the register reward any more?

What do you have to buy to get the breath right catalina? I mean – do you have to buy a certain number of the Oscilloccinum or Sinex?

Thanks!

That picture above was my wifes (I was with her) The total (on sale) price was about $180, total OOP about $30. It was broken up into 12 transactions so we could roll the RR between the transactions and reduce the OOP. We do live right in the middle of 3 WAGs, and no we didn’t clean out any of them. It was a very tiring day, but well worth it!

Last night I purchased two packages of Goodnites and a bag of potting soil and the cashier handed me a catalina for the free Breathe Right.

SO glad I just checked this post! I bought the Omega Factor 3 today and just threw the box away without looking. I just pulled it out of the trash (thank goodness it was on top!!) and found my $3 coupon. Hooray!! Also, at my store, it was in a weird place so hard to find but they had plenty. Check in the beauty section instead of in supplements. Thanks for the info!!

Our store was out of the Finish, boo. Of course I have five coupons for it… I did manage to score the Biore cleaner (yay!) and my store had just tons of the Omega 3, I’m going back for more tomorrow I think with the $3.00 coupon that was in it.
I just did two transactions though, I have a cold and just could not wrap my brain around five, lol. I did the Omega 3 and the Pencils in the first one since I had two RR from last week to use, then I paid for part of the rest of my order with the $10. I did end up spending $18 OOP but I got back $28 in RR to use later.
My store is still out of the Sinex from last week and no Cat for Breathe Right printed for me. 🙁
I also found John Frieda Root awakening Hairspray on clearance for 1.79, and to my surprise, the 2.00 coupon didn’t even beep! The one I printed would not go thru though, so he had to hard key that one.

I got 3 Breathe Right cat qs in one transaction and did not purchase any cough and cold items. I was so surprised. Got a try Afrin free q as well

I had the same problem with the Children’s Oscillococcinum Flu Medicine. The coupon beeped, even after the cashier tried to manually enter it. Well, I got lucky. She took pity on me and just keyed in $2 off and I got the discount. I got lucky again at the Walgreen’s down the street. The manager came over and did it for the cashier. But the situation could have been very different. I hope the manufacturer does not do that again!

I paid for a prescription and the Oscillo at the pharmacy and got the $9RR from Oscillo, a free catalina for Breathe Right, a free catalina for Poise and a $2 catalina for Kleenex.
