Here are some updates from my trip today that will hopefully make your shopping trip a little easier. 🙂
M&M PRETZEL DEAL
Great News! The Pretzel M&M’s do qualify for the $5 RR WYB (4). There were even signs up at the stores I visited. There is however one thing you have to look out for. The package pictured above is ringing up the correct price at 4/$10. However the holiday packages that are the exact same size ring up $3.49 each and not the sale price. So you’ll want to be aware of that before you make your purchase. In order to get the best deal you’ll need (2) computers and (2) facebook accounts…
Buy
4 – M&M’s Pretzel 9.9-12.6oz 4/$10
Use
-$1/1 M&M Pretzel Chocolate Candies, Any 9.9 Oz+ PRINT
(facebook coupon I was able to print 2 per account /computer)
= Total = $6, Get Back $5 RR
= $.25 EACH!

SINEX DEAL
More Good News! The Sinex deal works just like last time. 😉 I wish I had more coupons left since this is such a great product to stock up on and the expiration dates on the packages I bought were not until 2012. One store I went to was totally out and another store I went to was fully stocked, so I guess it will be a hit or miss as far as supply goes.
Buy
2 Vicks Sinex 20ct 2/ $10
Use
2 -$4/1 Sinex Product, any – 10-10-10 PG (if included)
Total = $2, Get Back $5 RR
= $3 Money Maker!

Use
1-$1/1 Gain Dish Liquid on One, – 10-10-10 PG
1-In ad Q for Gain (Takes off $.90)

My wonderful manager updated the price of the pretzel M&Ms while I was checking out so she made sure I got the sale price and the Register Reward. 🙂
What’s wags ‘rule’ on the order of scanning coupons (wags vs man)? I’ve been to a couple where the cashier said, “Oh, I have to scan these first.” re: the wags coupons that they knew were in the ad without me showing them. Once I asked the cashier to please scan the man. q first but the other time it was going to affect anything anyway. So do they teach the cashiers to scan wags q’s first to avoid giving overage?
Christie –
I was wondering how you would handle the following situation I experienced today. Any feedback for how I can handle things in the future would be greatly appreciated.
I went to a Walgreens I don’t normally go to because my regular one was out of Pretzel M&Ms and Sinex. I wanted to purchase 2 of the small bags of Purina One dogfood that are priced $1.99 each along with my other purchases. I had 2 of the $2 off any package coupons for the dog food. The first coupon went through no problem as expected – and the second one beeped as expected. I explained to the cashier (as I seem to do every single time) that I cannot get the overage and the coupon needs to be adjusted down. She then called the manager who tried to tell me she could not adjust the coupon because there was “no little box on the coupon to write the adjusted amount in”. On top of that, they (the cashier and the manager) went on and on about how Walgreens doesn’t adjust coupons and they would get fired yada yada. They were making a scene, the cashier was slow as it is so I just said take off the dog food.
What would you say to a manager who said that to you? She basically said the corporate policy doesn’t apply because there’s no little box on the coupon?!?!
Courtney – I don’t think that’s a corporate thing just maybe at your store. Honestly, just keep your coupons out of site. Once everything is rung up hand over your MQ and when she is done then open up the ad and start pointing out Wags qs. If you shop early Sundays they won’t be that familiar with the ad to say “oh there’s a coupon in the ad for such & such”.
Jennifer – I’d call corporate and ask for a call back from a district manager. Not the clueless manager you dealt with. And I’d tell them that their own employees don’t know their own corporate policy at that store. Then for future shopping trips if you want 2 bags of dog food ring up 3. Hand over 2 coupons. Then before you cash out change your mind. “Ya know what I just need 2 bags”. They’ll take off the 3rd bag and you’ll have no problems and enjoy 2 cents of overage. Of course if they knew what they were doing you could just avoid that but since they don’t this will work just as well! 🙂
Just a quick reminder that there were also $1 off any Gain dish product coupons in the P&G coupon book that came in the mail. If you look through each group of months, there are 3 total coupons in the book. I was out of the P&G coupons from the paper, but this way, I was able to get 3 more plus the overage. 🙂 Thanks for the field updates, too—I was bummed that my store was already out of Sinex.
any chance the vicks sinex is rolling again? 🙂
Sinex is roling
!
Ali, when did you get your coupon book? I sent off for mine awhile back (ha I should so keep better records!) and I haven’t gotten it yet! Hope it comes soon!
Caitie,
Mine took FOREVER to get here, but it finally showed up about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I think they must have received a lot of orders. Hope yours arrives before all of the crazy good holiday deals! 🙂
Caitie, you could check the status of your P&G booklet here.

Good M&M Pretzel deal! I’m eating mine right now. 25 cents a bag.. whoo hoo!
Thanks for the info, I just went and did my M&M deal. I had 2 $5RR so I bought 2 sinex and a charmin tissue that is on sale this week. I couldn’t be bothered to hunt down filler items so I did not use the .25 charmin coupon. I paid $1.05 00p and got back $5RR. Not bad I say. Tissue is my point of interest this week so I did that twice. They had not more sinex. I will try them again on Friday. Yeah baby. I needed a pick me upper.
I usually buy one more of the item that will give me issue and take it off after the other coupons are scanned. I know we should not have to go through that but I just can’t see spending 15 to 20 minutes fussing with them. My time is way to precious. Too many deals out there to get to … lol
Last night when I did the Sinex deal, my $4 off coupons beeped and didn’t want to scan. My cashier tried a few different things with no luck. Fortunately, I was at my favorite, super-nice cashier from the cosmetics counter, and she overrode the system to push them through, but other people who like to avoid beeps my want to be warned. I don’t know if this means it’s now going to give us problems. I was doing the free cough medicine and cheap Tums deal at the same time, and they rang through without a problem. I did get my $5 P&G RR (along with my $5 cough medicine RR), so I was happy, but I just thought I’d give everyone else a heads up in case this is a new snag.
So do you think I can buy one Sinex and ons Dayquil and would it spit out the $5 RR?
I went to the Walgreens that normally has things marked correctly and I have no problem. They did not have the Sinex marked but knew I got it there in the last sale. I proceeded to get the rest of my items. I went up to the register and the sinex rang up at $8.49 each. I pointed out that it should be the 2/$10 and that my other Walgreens had it clearly marked. She got the ad out and read the Vicks sale and said “nope, Sinex isn’t included”. In the past I would have just paid since I had a number of items in my basket and a $6RR I needed to spend but I knew I would not an RR back so I told her no thanks I’ll go to the other Walgreens. She looked stunned as well as the people in line behind me.
I bought 1 sinex and 1 dayquil and did not get the RR. It seems like we should get it since they are both vicks, but no.
