Walgreens Profits Up 7.8%

by Christie Bisbee on September 28, 2010

Have you ever been told by a cashier or manager something like “Walgreens will go out of business if they keep offering these deals” or “you couponers are going to hurt our sales”?  We all know that using coupons just means we are going to buy MORE not LESS (duh!).

Well, I thought you all might want to know that Walgreens released their profit report for the last quarter today and they INCREASED earnings by 7.8%! At last check their stock was up over 11% for the day.  They had a huge increase in prescription sales and their in-store sales were up too. You can read more about it HERE.

I hope this means more Register Reward deals and promotions for us, which we all know means more sales for them!

I laugh when they say they will go out of business. The coupons are what draws us couponers there in the first place! Second, they are reimbursed then some from the MF. Third, if coupons were so bad why does Walgreen’s offer coupons in the first place?

Thank you for the heads up!

Whenever they say that I always want to tell them that complaining cashiers are more likely to cut into their business than couponers are! I’m so tired of my Walgreens giving me a hard time that I have severely cut down on my business and have taken it to Rite Aid instead.

LOL! I love this article (and the implications)! 🙂 And yes, I’m there because of RR and their fantastic deals.

I never shopped at Walgreens even though my father-in-law is a pharmasist at one- until a few months ago when I found this blog! Now Walgreens is one of the only places I shop!

Our household is partly responsible for their huge increase in prescription sales. My husband was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and he is taking eight different pills. Those drugs aren’t cheap, by any means.

Yeh, I always laugh (on the inside) when they say something like that. I’m thinking, couponers like me are who keep your products moving off the shelves! LOL
