One of the e-mails I get most frequently is about stores not accepting internet printable coupons. I have to admit this issue makes me absolutely CRAZY!
Why? Because Walgreens may allow managers to set their own guidelines but when those guidelines conflict with their national advertising, it’s just not cool. I expect to be able to trust a stores advertising.
So next time you are trying to make a purchase with a printed coupon and are told “Walgreens doesn’t except printable coupons”, maybe you’ll want to point them to their own printed advertising, encouraging you to print coupons.
For example, let’s start with the August Coupon Book. Right on the front page it’s encouraging you to go print coupons from the Walgreens website (which by the way are just a few select coupons.com coupons).
Let’s take a look at another example out of the August Coupon Book.
This one comes from the same page as the Listerine coupon. Not only do they want you to use printable coupons but they want you to “check back often” so you don’t miss any!
So how can these employees and store managers say that the company doesn’t accept printable coupons?
So, be on the lookout for more ads like these and let us know if you see any. Keep this booklet in your binder forever. And next time you are told that Walgreens doesn’t accept printable coupons you can pull out one of their OWN ads. 😉

I think a lot of it is the checker… I am at the point that if I go in the store and the checker looks like he/she is on a power trip, is afraid of the register, or is just having a bad day, then I either ease my order back, find another checker, or just leave.
My advice is to never, ever check out up front. Go to cosmetics. In my experience, they have more time to work with you because they don’t have anyone waiting behind you. And if a manager is needed you won’t be holding up the line either.
It is frustrating to hear all the comments about people having trouble with Q’s at Walgreens. I wish everyone could shop at my store because it trouble free.
I work for Walgreens, and yes, we (at my store) do accept MOST printable coupons. But I have had to draw the line on the ones I suspect may be fraudulent. IE, Free tide, Free Doritos, Free Axe, etc. I have been a couponer for years, and in my experience, most companys do not have printable FREE coupons. As for cosmetitions, did you know that if certain items are not rung up at that counter, she can get in trouble? If loss prevention, or a manager see that many ‘red zone’ items are walking away from her counter due to someone taking a long time in front of them, she loses money, as she is paid a small stipend for selling certain items, (PM’s) she also loses status in the PM list. If she isn’t making those PM’s, then it looks to the company, or district office, that she is not doing her job! Please, if someone comes up behind you, please step to the side in between your transaction, and allow her to ring up other customers. Thanks!

Betty is completely right. Also, being nice to the clerk/manager goes a long way. I’m much more likely to try and figure out why a customer’s coupon isn’t working or manually allowing it to if they are being nice about it.
Can you believe they would not take my 15% coupon from THEIR site. I was so embarrassed and there was a line forming behind me so I had to just go without it.
Rosy, I’d call corporate about that, that’s the most idiotic thing ever. I have no other word for it.
I’d also go to their facebook page and post that you couldn’t use it and why. They are currently asking people about their experience with the Friends & Family discount on their page.
WIll do!
