The NEW Walgreens digital camera came out this week. The camera is digital, so it requires no film and requires no memory card, however the pictures can only be printed at Walgreens. After the Friends & Family discount & the in ad coupon, I paid only $19.99 for the camera! 😉
Here’s how it works…
-You can take up to 50 pictures with the camera. It includes a 4x zoom, a flash and up to 5.1 megapixels and just requires 3 AAA batteries.
-Once you have taken your 50 pictures you return the camera to Walgreens to print your photos.
– You get the camera back with your photos. And each time you print your photos you’ll also get a FREE storage CD containing your pics so you can transfer them to your computer.
The camera also comes with a booklet that contains coupons. These don’t expire till 12/31/12 and they are Wags Qs so you should be able to use them over and over again.
The Booklet Includes
-$5/1 My personal movie DVD
-B1G1 FREE Photo Magazine Cover
-B1G1 FREE 8×10 Collage Print
-$3 OFF Fun Pics
-B1G1 FREE 8×10 Enlargements
-$3 Photo Greeting Cards
-$3 OFF Photo Poster
-B1G1 Photo Books
-$2 OFF Ultimate Value Pack
The camera is very lightweight and compact. You can delete pictures you don’t want after looking at them on the view screen and it also has a timer. It’s pretty much just the essentials and for $20 it seems like a good buy under the right circumstances. Like when you don’t want to risk loosing an expensive camera or your 5 year old really wants his own camera! I’ll let you guys know how it goes when I print my first set of pics. 🙂

So after you get the pics done at Wags, you can use the camera again?? Oh, by the way..thanks for all the hard work you do!! This has been my favorite site:)
Hi Lsa – Thanks so much! Yes, you can reuse the camera over and over again. So they’ll give you back the camera with your pictures and your cd each time for the price of just developing the pics.
I’m new..can you tell me what the friends and family discount is! Thanks
Regarding using the WAGs Qs over and over again… When they had the last coloring book coupons, even though they were wags Qs, one time I used them, one of the cashiers made me turn it in! It was nearly expired and the last time I planned to use that one, so I just turned it over. They may want the ones that you have to buy something to get, since they aren’t “public”… ?
Hi Christie. I just bought the camera and was wondering if I can just bring in the camera to get the free cd each time and not order prints. What do you think?
Rachael, hmmm. You make an excellent point. It just says bring it in for your FREE CD. It doesn’t say purchase required. If you try that before I do let me know how it goes! It also says there’s a money back guarantee and if you aren’t happy they’ll give you your money back! 🙂
I’ve been eye-ing this camara all week is a good way to burn some RR’s and use the Visine overage. I have a question if you know.
But I thought this was regular digital camara? or a Wags-only-use-kinda digital camara?
I mean maybe the answer is in my face. But at this point I can’t think straight this %15 off is a killing my brain! LOL
Hi Sara – It’s a Wags only use digital camera. Also, you can’t just import pics onto your computer. You’d have to bring it in and get a CD of your pics made (it’s FREE with the camera) in order to have access to them on your computer. But it’s REALLY affordable!
@Rachael B.
Know that you mention it, I remember a couple of years ago, there was this promotion that you bought a Wags Film Camara and had free prints for life. I still have that camara somewhere, nobody had one? lol
has anyone been having trouble uploading pictures to walgreens photo from home? It keeps doubling and sometimes tripling the number I am sending..ugh
It usually doesn’t take long for someone to find a way to connect this sort of dealo to a usb port, making it a supercheap 5Mp option. Anyone?
Eldorado, take that question to the Camera Hacking forum, please, they’ve done it with the old CVS / RiteAid cameras and the older Walgreens loyalty camera by PureDigital, they might do it for this camera. Go here: http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=12801 Remember, it doesn’t take just connecting the camera via USB, it also needs the driver.
Well…if they did free prints in the past I suppose a free CD without requirement would make sense….seems the gimmick is that it gets you into the store where you are likely to buy other things.
Has anyone checked on this? Do you have to get prints?
I’m looking for a cheap camera to have while I finish two more years of a grad program….I figure when I’m working again I’ll get a good camera…
Sound like too good of a deal???? I thought this was a great deal also. They tell me my camera is defective and they can’t get the pictures off the camera. I’ve tried to have the pictures downloaded onto the CD at 2 different Walgreen stores. Neither Walgreen store had downloaded these pictures before. I’ve called the call center three times. Walgreen talked to the call center to try to download the pictures. The last time I called the call center wanting to have the pictures taken off the camera only to be told they will call me back…..still waiting. I have 50 great pictures and can’t reproduce the grandkids pictures or a reunion we had in August. I had one Walgreen employee tell me she’d be soooo mad. Well….. I JUST WANT THE PICTURES AND I’LL LEAVE WALGREENS ALONE….
Would love to get the answer to the question if you have to print all 50 pictures to get the free CD. When I looked at the back of the package, that was the impression I was left with, so I didn’t buy it. Have you tried it yet?
What if you do not want to take all 50 at one time? Do you have to wait years til it is full? Sometimes we only take a few.
Christy,
any feedback concerning the quality of the prints from this camera? can you print less than the 50 prints capacity? am interested in a simple digital camera for an elderly parent. this seems to be a very uncomplicated camera and procedure for a senior, any feedback would be appreciated. thank you
Jackie – I would say that it’s perfect for someone who needs something very simple. And for someone who doesn’t need to upload the pictures to a computer and it happy just letting the Photo center handle everything. They also will save money in that there isn’t any film that needs to be purchased. I think it would be a good fit for an elderly parent.
Did anyone try to get the free CD without having to develop the pix?
This camera is perfect for going to the circus where they don’t allow any types audio/video camera.
Would really appreciate your input.
Thanks so much
The red version is currently under $8.00. And, no, you need to get your prints in order to get the CD. You might ask how much it would cost to get the CD only, but don’t expect free service for life based on the camera purchase.
hi i just want to come on here and let you guys know something cool….If you have a USB extension cord. Take the medal peace off of the connection and plug it into the camera and plug the other end into the computer. With windows 7 it will sync its AWSOME great pictures.
Great website by the way.
Can you put in a SD card to hold more pictures? Cause I want it to hold way more pictures than just 50. (:
