My Coupon Clutch Came Today!

by Christie Bisbee on July 15, 2010

I’m VERY excited to report that my Coupon Clutch came today! Last month I asked you to vote on a coupon clutch for me and the Giraffe print clutch was the winner. I had been so busy I had totally forgotten to order it. Luckily, my hubby came to the rescue and surprised me with it! What a sweetie. 😉

He ordered it for me with the Deluxe insert package, which includes various dividers, binder pockets, pocket pages and instructions to help me get started. I can’t wait to start using it!

It’s amazing how much it looks like a tote, no one would ever know it was full of coupons. It’s also more compact and lightweight than I expected which was a GREAT surprise. I’m a petite gal so carrying a huge heavy bag is not my thing.

Thanks to everyone who voted! I think you all made an excellent choice for me, as red is one of my favorite colors (as is evidenced by my dining room chairs that you can see in the picture!) Goodbye hot pink plastic binder, hello stylish Coupon Clutch! 🙂

Is that a 2″ or 3″ binder?

What an adorable idea! I’d love to see how it looks all filled up and ready to go to the store.

Oh wow. I had no idea it looked like that on the inside.

That would be great to carry for specific trips instead of lugging my ever-growing binder around. Be sure to let us know how you like using it!

If you sew the pattern is a good deal. I ordered it and made two. My 2″ binder was pretty heavy and I was afraid the straps would eventually pull out, so I made another one to fit a 3″ binder and revised the patten to fit. Instead of sewing the straps on the top edges, I used webbing for straps and sewed it on the outside down the front and back so the webbing met at the bottom for more support.

Stevie – Yes, it really looks sharp. I thought it would look good but it looks GREAT.

Mandy – I think it’s a 2″ binder.

Judy – That’s great. No one would want anything I would sew. LOL. But if you can sew then buying the pattern is a good deal! I’d have like 5 covers in different prints if I could sew!

I would love to have one, but waiting on a deal. I just can’t spend $50 on it right now.

Janell, if you sew you can buy the pattern and make your own. 😉 Or if you have your own binder I think the cover part is $25. Wish I could sew!

I have been looking at one of the clutches. My current binder is 3″ and BULGING!! I de-bulk as much as possible, but it seems to grow each with. I have a sewing machine and a serger, but an not proficient. Would buying the pattern be worth it for me or should I just invest in the clutch? I Really want a 4″ binder, just to have some breathing room.

Christie, is the clutch indutrious enough for the bulk of a 3″ binder filled with Qs?

Deshaine – I haven’t filled it up yet so I don’t know how much I can put in it before I explode the thing! 🙂

Also I would need at least 4 binders to hold all of my coupons, so I plan on keeping uncut inserts in my filing system at home and the clutch to take with me when I go shopping.

A 3″ binder will not fit into the pattern size and so I doubt one will fit into tne ones already made.

I have been using mine for about a month now. I love it! You can fit more than you think into one. I also got the deluxe inserts. I was not thrilled with the 9 pocket sheets. My printed coupons I had to cut just right so they would fit but most of the insert coupons fit good. I did order 20 more sheets of the 3 pocket and 4 pocket styles. I stuff everything in it and it hasn’t busted open yet.

I have a Coupon Clutch and I love it! It is like my second purse! So handy, so convenient and I have gotten several compliments on it at the stores I go to. You will be the envy of the couponers in the store!

I think they are cute, but I need more room. I have a Case It 3″ binder with handle and strap. Not as fashionable, but I can still throw it over my shoulder to get it out of my way. (but wow has it gotten heavy)

Honestly Gals, be careful! I don’t want anyone hurting themselves carrying a huge exploding binder around.

I had scoliosis as a kid so I’m very aware of not carrying a huge, heavy bag around, and like I said I’m petite to boot. So the size of the clutch works well for me.

Just be careful PLEASE! 🙂

Hey guys – I’m the creator of the Coupon Clutch and I’m also a HUGE fan of Christie’s blog so I just happened to see this 🙂 I wanted to let you know that the pattern has been updated to include instructions for fitting the cover to any size binder AND due to popular demand we also have 3″ custom Coupon Clutches available on the home page. Thanks so much for all your kind words!

I was worried is the coupon clutch was make out of heavy material to last long but also to be too heavy to carry or is it regular material, so it is easy to carry. I am wanting one but not sure about the long term durablity.
