Here are the Catalinas I have received this week…
-$.25/1 Hershey’s Candy Bag 8 – 9.6oz
-$.75/1 Cottonelle Fresh Flushable Moist Wipes 84+ Refill
-$1.50/3 pints of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Sorbet or Frozen Yogurt
-$1.50/1 Crest Whitening Plus Scope Toothpaste
The Crest coupon printed when I bought some Colgate that turned out to be $1.25 after my coupon. It was a suggestive sale item at my store so I bought it to help out my cashier. I like to help out the nice cashiers when I can! My good deed turned out to be rewarded with that $1.50/1 Crest which will be a money maker for me when they are FREE after Register Rewards during the 4 day ad! So I guess my good deed paid off. 😉

I was curious how the suggestive sell items benefit the cashiers? When Butterfingers were on suggestive sell, one HORRIBLE cashier I had was literally picking them up and adding them to my order even though I politely declined. (I’m Type 1 Diabetic- haha)
Perhaps one of our Walgreens employee readers can let us know more about this.
My cashiers have told me that there are some items that they need to sell X number of them per day (like the candy) and that there are other items where they make a certain amount on each one they sell. I remember my cashier mentioning that she made $.30 for each item sold recently (can’t remember what it was but it was a higher priced cosmetic item not a candy item).
Regina – That’s nuts! It should be a suggestion not a shove down your throat kind of sell! Wow!
Suggestive Sell is basically like commission. For example, selling the reeses cups will get you 5 cents a piece, and the colgate you get 15 cents. Some stores have a quota they need to reach, most don’t though 🙂

The only catalinas I ever get at Walgreens are for oil changes and Payless shoes, and I get the .75 one for Cottonelle wipes (which I never use because its for the 84 ct size thats never on sale) when I buy one of those. My friend gets good catalinas every time she shops at Walgreens.
I did the 3/$10 U pads and tampons deal with coupons and got a catalina for the movie ticket, PLUS two catalinas both for free boxes of always liners up to a 5 dollar value.
The Crest t/p is FARR thru 7/3. Big MM with catalina.

I keep getting a dish network and oil change catalina. How do you get all those coupons. I paid evereything with my debit card…….
I think the Crest was from buying Colgate, and I think the Ben & Jerry’s was from buying Starbucks Ice Cream. The Hershey’s was definitely from buying (3) Reese’s.
I am getting very frustratd my two close Walgreens keep printing the same two catalinas which are silly advertisments! I asked today and the cashier just laughed at me!
