Updates From the Field 6/20!

by Christie Bisbee on June 20, 2010

I have lots of good news to report today! My update is a little later than usual with it being Father’s Day and all but I made it to the store regardless.
________________________________________________________________________________
NEUTROGENA

This worked for me today! I bought the only things they had under $4 that I knew had worked for the RR before. I got 1 bar of regular soap, one bar of acne soap and the “NEW FRAGRANCE” hand cream (only the one with the red top & New Fragrance works). Viola, I got my $10 RR NO problems! Sweet!
__________________________________________________________________________________________
RE-NU
Only the Sensitive worked for me for the RR deal. The regular one did not.  So make sure to look for the light turquoise colored box that reads SENSITIVE.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
GILLETTE
If you find the trial sized bottles, they work like a charm, NO BEEPS! There shouldn’t be any beeps since the coupon does not exclude trial size but with Walgreeens you never know.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
REPHRESH
If you buy the repHresh and use the $1/1 coupon be sure to print it the larger size (it was about 1/3 of a page on my printer). I printed both a smaller size to save ink and a larger size and sure enough the smaller size print wouldn’t scan, but the larger print scanned just fine.

Happy Shopping Everyone! 😉

Hi Christie… just a quick question… the RepHresh coupon that you said printed about 1/3 page on your printer are you talking about 1/3 page horizontally or vertically because mine printed side ways and is not super big, but I had never adjusted the size of it or anything before i printed it, just wanted to make sure it would work. Thanks in advance 🙂

My contact solution rang up for 2.24! I used a two dollar off coupon and spent .24 cents to get a 7.50 rr! wahoo!

Christie June 20, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Brittany – Wow! Lucky you!

Morgan – That’s so strange that it beeped for you! Sorry about that, it’s so obviously right for the product, I hate when they won’t just read what the coupon says!

Shelly – If I’m looking at a sheet of paper it printed horizontally across the middle using like 1/3 of the page. The small one that didn’t work was a bit larger than a business card, normal coupon size, but it wouldn’t scan.

Didn’t have the best luck at Walgreens today.. the store had the facial soap bars, so I got three of them, and for some reason my “$1 off any Neutrogeana facial cleanser” coupon beeeped, and they would not push it through!! Here in Washington we pay 8.6% tax, so all my deals had to have multiple fillers, and even some OOP. I’m not crazy about how I did this week! Bummer because last week was so awesome!

The Rephresh coupons are an unserialized PDf, so you can print an unlimited number of these coupons. Here is a google docs link for a four coupons on one page printout:

https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B0zf2kcGxXwQMDJmNGQ0MmMtNzViNy00MTA1LTgzZjUtZTYwYWUwZTQ5N2I3&hl=en

When you print, don’t fit or shrink it. I used 10 of them earlier this morning. I couldn’t find any of the gillette trials so my scenario was rolling one neutragena with 1 renu and 1 rephresh…

Deb June 20, 2010 at 5:41 pm

The small Rephresh coupons worked just fine for me…they are tiny, though!

Reply

Grace Dugas June 20, 2010 at 5:49 pm

The Rephresh box has coupons inside! One good for $1 off another box of tampons.

Hi Christie,
so the neutrogena bar soap is working again? I’m confused, when is the deal end supposedly? I thought it ended yesterday June 19? or maybe the 25% ended yesterday? but the $10 RR still working?

allyson June 20, 2010 at 6:09 pm

Ohhh the things that I could buy with these register reward!!! Im crossing my fingers that I win!!!

Reply

I think that I could find a lot to buy with this!!!

The Neutrogena bars have been working fine for me since Saturday morning and finally a store in my area got some in so I was able to take advantage of it! The 25% is over but the RR is still printing. Also if any of you are having troubles with the rephresh coupon not scanning just ask them to key it in, worked great for me 🙂

michelle June 20, 2010 at 7:23 pm

All the wags around me are still out of neutrogena bar soap, does the RR deal end this saturday 6/26?? I still have coupons to use 🙁 and only one more truck that can bring it in.

Reply

Christie June 20, 2010 at 8:29 pm

The Neutrogena deals ends 6/26, so this Saturday! It’s just no longer 25% off.

About PDF coupons…please help! I want to be sure I don’t misuse them since I am relatively new to couponing. Doesn’t ANY coupon need to have slightly different serial numbers for the retailer to get reimbursed?? Thanks!

my wags had a box of B&L solution(sensitve) that was B1G1!.Didn’t try it yet but thought I’d goback later. We had a Tornado here in Billings…so that screwed upmy trip…lol

Reply

Reply

Tina June 20, 2010 at 9:38 pm

thank you for the chance to win! also does walgreens limit how many things you can buy? thank you!

Reply

maria June 20, 2010 at 9:40 pm

Wendy, the B1G1 free box triggered the RR, but it did not ring up at the sale price. At least that is what happened at one of the stores I went to today. I think it rang up at 8.99, but still gave the 7.50 RR.

Reply

Shallan June 20, 2010 at 9:46 pm

Wendy,

I tried the B1G1 boxes earlier today and they ring up $8.99, they do still generate the $7.50 RR so if you have the $2 coupon it’s still a $.51 MM. I stuck with the individual boxes though.

Reply

adri June 20, 2010 at 9:46 pm

on the buy $25, get $10 RR old spice/gillette deal, do y’all think I can use two B1G1 coupons and one $1/2 if I buy 5 deodorants total? I can’t figure out a good scenario for this deal 🙁

Reply

Melissa June 20, 2010 at 10:18 pm

Had a terrible time at WAG today– bought the Old Spice, ReNu, and Jello and got ZERO register rewards back! The manager said it’s because I paid with RRs (NOT the same brand) but obviously that’s not true and my mom did the same transaction without paying with RR and got 0 register rewards also!?! This is the Chicagoland area. (BTW our tax is 10.75%) Anyone know what’s up?

michelle June 20, 2010 at 10:32 pm

Wondering if I can use the $2 herbal essance to buy the gillette razor or the $4.50rr on body wash?? all my rr are p&g!! never had that happen before.

Reply

Janet K June 20, 2010 at 10:41 pm

$2 Neutrogena Facial Cleanser coupon beeped for me too. I tried to use it on hand cream and oil-free pore cleanser. 🙁 Never had that happen before and I have done the Neutrogena deal 5 other times. Something has changed.

The Renu with a free bottle rang up $7.99 for me today, but my amazing cashier changed the price, and they still printed the RR.

Reply

Christie June 20, 2010 at 11:44 pm

Blizzard – These pdf coupons are all exactly the same. And I just had to use one since there are $1/1 coupons in each box. I just took the coupon out of the box to buy the next one!

Michelle – If you use the $2 Herbal E to buy the Gillette the Gillette RR will still print.

Melissa – That’s obviously not the reason! Maybe the machine wasn’t working, or out of paper, or out of ink or disconnected, who knows. Were you able to return them?

I am loving all this info! I am new to couponing in general, other than using one here or there. But, wowee, wow, wow! I didn’t realize how much you could get for so little with just a bit of time! I am so excited to see what I can stockpile over the next few weeks:) AND, I just learned of the RR last week. I can’t believe what I’ve been missing ~ it is so much fun shopping this way 🙂 Yesterday, I bought 5 more Hallmark cards and a Sunday paper yesterday just so I could use a RR reward, to show how it’s done. My total was $6.96, and after using a $6 RR, it made my total $.49 cents. $.49 OOP for 5 cards and a newspaper full of coupons! AND I got $4 more in RR! Muahahahaha! I know this is small potatoes for you seasoned Wags shoppers, but seriously, I am having a blast!!! My husband thinks I am an absolute dork, but he got two free body washes this week! He won’t be balking for long! Would love to win $25 in RR!!!

Melissa – so what was the mgr’s excuse for your mom’s transaction? Walgreens.com has 24/7 online customer support and they game me the customer service number and I made a complaint yesterday for something else…

Pam June 21, 2010 at 12:23 am

I hope I win the RR. It would be a great way to get some stuff for the troops. I use my RR to get deals and send bodywash and other stuff the troops need via Forgotten Soldier Outreach. They were great sending out care packages to my brother when he was deployed to Afghanistan.

To Michelle #24, Yes you can mix and match your RRs. As long as you do not use the exact one you expect to print out. Example: If u expect a $4.50 RR, don’t use another P&G $4.50 RR. But you could use two (2) P&G $2 RR. My awesome Wags asst. manager tested this exact scenario for me and the $4.50 RR printed. God bless!

iowagirl June 21, 2010 at 9:03 am

The ReNu Sensitive didn’t generate RR at my store yesterday. The clerk called over the manager who rang it again – and again – and again – and still no RR. Rather than mess with it, he gave us back $7.49 cash! They’ve probably fixed it today, but even with the little bit of hassle, I left well pleased with my FREE contact lens solution.

I used my Nivea $6 RR from last week to get the Gillette and Herbal essence this week. No RR came out. The manager did give me a cash refund for the amount. I want to do the transaction again but I’m embarrassed if the RR doesn’t come out again. (Until the mgr came back, the cashier was surmising at all these crazy reasons that it didn’t come out, like I used a RR even though it was not a PG one, or b/c I had a B1G1 coupon on the gillette). Any reason anyone can come up with? Any way I can avoid this from happening? I used the B1G1 coupon b/c they didn’t seem to have the travel size gillette to use my $4/2 Q.

Reply

michelle June 21, 2010 at 11:44 am

blizzard – awesome, have to plan some more transactions for today 🙂 yippee!!

Susan June 21, 2010 at 1:22 pm

Today the Wags in my little one-horse town in No. California had the Bausch & Laumb ReNu twin packs (B1G1 in one pkg. Reg. 8.99 Purple-Sensitive Eyes ) mis-tagged with the single pk. sale price. At the register it would not ring up at the sale price, but with the $2/1 Q it was 6.99 and did produce the $7.50 RR!!! So it was a .50 money maker and I got two instead of one free!!
I think they took down that sign before I was even out of the store!

Reply

Jen June 21, 2010 at 2:01 pm

I’m located in Kansas, and went for the Old Spice bodywash this morning. It did not generate the RR. I ended up going ahead with my second transaction, but didn’t have the RRs from the 1st transaction to do my second. So lesson learned for me…either do 1 transaction at a time. Or don’t plan to use RRs from the 1st transaction in the 2nd. Manager ended up producing an RR after the fact for the tampons, but alas still paid way more out of pocket then I expected. Anyone else have this issue today?

I am looking to you ladies for some help on creating a scenario. I want to do the P&G deal of buy $25 get $10. There are SO many B1G1F and MFQ’s that I am dumbfounded on the best way to maximize this deal.

This is what I have: 5 PG inserts to use from June and 3 from May, so I have a lot of Q’s

I have RR of: 3 $10 rr Neutorgena; 2 $5rr RepHresh; 2 $7.50rr Renu; 1 $1rr.

I would SO appreciate some guidance.

Thanks in advance, Jen

Jen, in the comments section of Christie’s Scenario with RR’s, here is what someone came up with.
Cheri
June 20th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
Here’s my transaction for the B1G1 old spice Buy:
5-old spice fresh collection deodorant 4.99
1-old spice body wash 4.49
1 –gillette 2oz. foamy shave gel 1.29
total: 30.73
use:
2- B1G1 old spice fresh collection deo -4.99 *2
1- B1G1 old spice fresh coll. deo/ get 1 body wash -4.49
2- $1 off any 2 os deo
1-$10 RR Neutrogena
1-$4 RR schick
OOP+=$.26 Get $10 RR + $4.50 RR
It worked fine for me.

The only thing I’m not sure of is the coupon to item ratio. It doesn’t look like it should work but Cheri (the poster) was able to do it. . . Good luck. I try to avoid the scenarios with too many coupons. I’m easily confused. Funny, cause I work with numbers all day.

Maria June 21, 2010 at 2:45 pm

**FYI on the RENU deal**
I went to Wags today and found B1G1 boxes of
12 oz RENU Sensitive on the end cap for $7.99, used the $2.00 coupon from the paper, paid with FSA card (since this is FSA item) and got back the $7.50 RR YIPPIE!!

I got a bit carried away this week. I got about $115 in merchandise, paid $50 OOP and got $73 in RR. Both of my Renu solutions rang up $2.24, which with Q’s and RR resulted in $7.25 money makers each! Everything printed as advertised and for the first time ever, I basically got paid to shop.
Congratulations on 3 months, and thank you for all the vluable information!

Thanks a Million for all the time & effort you put into this fabulous website blog. I love it! $25 RR would come in real handy these day 🙂

My update from the field today – Neutrogena Lip SPF 15 is now ringing up $3.99 (even though shelf is still marked $2.99). Thankfully, since my OOP was a lot higher than I thought, I caught the mistake right away and was able to get reimbursed my $3.18. Just an FYI to those still doing the Neutrogena deal – make sure the price ringing up matches the shelf price!!!
