Walgreens is getting a new design for their Cashew, Peanuts and all of their nut products. As a result you may find lots of good nut clearance at your stores! My stores had only reduced them slightly and I’ve been patiently waiting for these to drop to a better price. Finally the time has arrived!
I found Mixed nuts on clearance for $.74, Cashews Halves for $.99, Pistachios and Almond bags for $.99 and more. This is a great price for these! I checked the expiration dates (something I always do) and they were all in 2012.
There was plenty of stock so I was able to stock up on them and still leave full shelves. Clearance varies from store to store but if this is something you use I suggest you check it out. I found these at all the stores I visited in my area. I already busted open the Pistachios and the Honey Roasted Cashews, YUM!

I was running to Walgreen’s anyways today, so when I read this post I was super excited to check out the clearance. Well, there was nothing. Nada. Zip. It looked like my Walgreens is ahead of the game and has already switched over to the new packaging. I guess I missed the clearance! Bummer!
i think i got 40 cans and there was still 4 shelves of nuts left! Mmmm!
I’ve been waiting…and waiting for my store to take them down farther…seems at least a month or more….and it looks like I’ll still be waiting a little longer. 🙁
