This is what I bought on Sunday. I started with $28 in Walgreens Register Rewards. Ended up getting $76.69 in products (before any manufacturer coupons) and paid $10.69 out of pocket. PLUS, I ended up with $22.05 in Balance Reward Points, $3 in Register Rewards. Subtract that from my out of pocket costs and add in the $28 in Register Rewards that I started with it, and that makes it $13.64 for $76.69 of product or about 82% off, or 59¢ per item (not including the folder, scissors and the Schweppes).
I did Transaction #1 & #2 at one store, and went to another store for #3. The first store did not have the School section set up and I couldn’t find some of those in-ad coupon school supplies for fillers, but found Penway folders on clearance for 10¢.

went to Walgreens and bought three Loreal Shampoo, 2 Lysol Toliet Bowl Cleaners, 1 Seltzer water, and 1 Glade Plug in twin refill. Total before coupons $27.50. I paid $13.94 and did not receive the 5,000 points. I was told by customer service the Loreal Haircare Walgreens coupons counted toward my total and made it $24.50 after the Walgreens coupons were deducted. She said the Walgreen coupons count toward your total but not the MQ’s. She gave me a one time point adjustment. Don’t know if anyone had this issue. But it was really time consuming at the register to get the coupons to come off and then to not get the points and have to call and find out what happened made me irritated. I was going to run another transaction after that one with different items and just headed back to the car and called it a day!
That is correct, that’s the way these always work. You have to reach $25 before manufacturer coupons are deducted, but after the Walgreens coupons (in-ad or monthly book) are deducted.
So to see an example you can look at the scenario I wrote HERE that includes the L’Oreal.
Christie do you know if eggs count to reach the $25, I thought they did not count but tonight they did. My store did not have the Fiber One mark 3 for $6, they were marked for $3 each. In my mind the total including the cereal was $25.47, I was planning on getting eggs so i and I added 3 dozens for $1.49 each but after the cashier scanned everything I noticed that my cereal rang for $2 each, but the eggs help to reach the $25 and I got the 5000 points. I hope you get what I am saying (spanish is my first language).
Gracias for all the deals you find for us 🙂
Hi Lucy – normally Dairy doesn’t count so I am surprised and happy to hear they worked! 🙂 And you are very welcome!
