Here’s an update for you on the Beauty Enthusiast Points deal going on thru Saturday. You may have received a catalina coupon this week to earn $7 (7,000 Balance Reward Points) when you spend $25+ on Beauty Products. Also, some of you may have it as Clip2Card, but keep in mind that not all of you will have it as a clip2card. The Beauty Advisor did not have leaflets at the counter, but you will receive a bag full of samples for your Beauty Purchase of $25+. There is a leaflet with this coupon inside this gift bag (top, left) for this deal again! So if you have the catalina or the clip2card, you can grab one deal and once you get your goodies bag, you’ll can grab another deal with the coupon in the bag.
Pictured above is what I got; however, keep in mind that this can vary for you. I was excited to receive the sample of the L’Oréal Colorista hair makeup, and the 3 oz size of the Love Beauty Planet Conditioner. Also, that awesome booklet with $3 & $5 Fragrance Coupons is in there again! Woo hoo!
If you did not get the catalina or the Clip2Card, you may talk to your Beauty Advisor to see if you can use the leaflet coupon inside the bag if you grab $25 worth of Beauty, but your success will vary, depending on your Advisor.
An email was sent out this weekend, but in case you missed it, important changes are coming to the Beauty Enthusiast program next week. Starting 8/19, ORAL CARE, DEODORANT, SHAVING & MEN’s GROOMING will no longer be eligible for Beauty Enthusiast Rewards!
Cosmetics, nails, skin care, hair care, fragrances, beauty accessories and bath products remain on the current list, so we will continue to see awesome deals .
Here’s an update on the Beauty Enthusiast Points. You’ll earn $5 (5,000 Balance Reward Points) when you spend $50 on participating Beauty & Personal Care products. Check out my previous post for more on inclusions HERE. Here are a couple of situations to help you plan your transactions.
1. If you pay with a manufacturer coupon (MQ), the price of the product (including MQ) will count towards Beauty. If you use a Walgreens coupon (Wags Q), the amount after the Wags Q will count towards your Beauty points.
e.g. You buy Beauty Item priced at $5. You use $1 Wags Q and a $1.50 MQ, then $4 will count towards Beauty.
2. If you pay with Register Rewards (RR), the price of the product (including payment covered by RR), will count towards Beauty.
e.g. You buy Beauty Item priced at $5 and a candy filler, You use $1 MQ, and $4 RR, then $5 will count toward Beauty.
3. If you pay with Points, the price of the product, minus the points you used to pay for it, will count towards Beauty.
e.g. You buy a Beauty Item priced at $5, you use 50¢ MQ and a $1 Wags Q, you pay with $1 in points, then $3 will count towards Beauty
4. If you have a combo purchase, whatever points you used to pay will count towards the NON-Beauty purchase first, then the remaining points (if the non-beauty purchase is less than the value of the points redemption), will be deducted from the Beauty. It doesn’t matter which items you scan first (Beauty or non-Beauty).
e.g. #1 You buy Beauty Item priced at $5 and non-Beauty Item priced at $1.50. You use $2 (2,000 Balance Reward Points) to pay, then $4.50 will count towards beauty.
e.g. #2 You buy Beauty Item priced at $5 and non-Beauty Item priced at $5, You use $5 (5,000 Balance Reward Points) to pay, then $5 will count towards Beauty.
5. If you use a Walgreens Merchandise Return Card to pay, the amount of the Beauty will be reduced by the credit you used to pay.
e.g. You buy Colgate Toothpaste priced at $3.50, You use MQ for $1, you use $2 (2,000 Balance Reward Points), and use a merchandise return card to pay remaining balance of 50¢, only $1 will count towards Beauty.
Keep in mind that for the Merchandise return card use, the amount counting towards Beauty will vary slightly if the item you are buying is a taxable item, so this situation will vary by pennies from state to state since the merchandise return can be used to cover taxes!
6. If you are about to earn points and you pay with points, your $5 (5,000 Beauty Points) points will be awarded, so long as you meet your dollar amount points needed to earn the $5 AFTER deducting the points you use to pay.
e.g.#1 Say you have $49 towards your $50 Beauty total. You buy Beauty item priced at $3. You use $1 MQ and pay with $2 (2,000 Balance Reward Points), then the value of the Beauty purchase for this transaction is $1, and you will earn your $5 in Beauty Points in this transaction since you were $1 away from reaching $50
e.g.#2 Say you have $49 towards your $50 Beauty total. You buy Beauty item priced at $1. You pay with $1 (1,000 Balance Reward Points), then the value of the Beauty purchase for this transaction is $0, and you will NOT earn $5 in Beauty Points in this transaction.
These are some of the situations I encountered, if you have a transaction example not covered here, please be sure to share .
If you signed up for the Walgreens Beauty Enthusiast club be sure to check your e-mail for a special points offer. You should have a link for a clip to card coupon good for 20x EveryDay Points on your first Beauty purchase. The coupon is one time use, and will automatically be applied to your next beauty purchase. Remember, this includes oral care, hair care, shave care and many other items that you may think of as personal care. Since the coupon will apply on your next purchase of these items, you may want to hold off clipping the coupon until right before you want to use it. Mine had a 12/31/16 expiration so plenty of time!

There are many categories that fall under beauty including cosmetics, skin care, hair care, oral care, fragrances, hand lotion, razors, deodorants and grooming products. It really is quite generous including quite a few personal care categories and products for both men and women.
You don’t have to make your purchase in one trip, you’ll accumulate points and you’ll be able to keep track of where you are right on your receipt! This is an excellent opportunity to earn quite a few additional points. The points are being earned (similarly to EveryDay points) before any manufacturer’s coupons (including Register Rewards) are used, which is awesome for coupon shoppers. I’m looking forward to hearing about your experiences with this new program! Just go HERE to learn more and sign up for the new Walgreens Beauty Enthusiast club.
