Walgreens – Stack Coupons!

by Christie Bisbee on November 24, 2010

Look at this ad that I was in one of my Red Plum Inserts this Sunday, November 21st! Those of you who have difficulty using a coupon from the Walgreens coupon book in conjunction with a manufacturer coupon will certainly want to see if your RedPlum had this advertisement.

Walgreens took out a 1/2 page ad telling us to come in and buy Pistachios and stack a manufacturer coupon from this insert for $1/1 AND the $.50/1 Walgreens coupon from the December coupon book. If you have this in your insert, just like the many, many examples of this kind of advertising I have posted on here before, I suggest you keep a copy in your coupon binder.

I have to admit this is a HUGE issue for me. When Walgreens advertises something I expect them to honor it. No one should have to go in and argue their case just so a store will honor what it has advertised. I don’t know if it’s a lack of staff training or if it’s intentional but either way it’s not cool.

Walgreens Advertises Stack Coupons!

by Christie Bisbee on September 13, 2010

UPDATE
If you didn’t get this in your inserts, Virginia at My Coupon Hunter has very generously offered to include one for FREE for Wild for Wags readers when you place an order HERE. This is very sweet of her because there are coupons on the back that she will have to sacrifice in order to send these out to you. After you place your order you will need to e-mail her (click on “contact” on her site to e-mail her) to request that the “Dulcolax Walgreens Ad” be included in your order. Thanks So Much Virginia! 🙂

Did you get this ad in your Smart Source insert Sunday? If you did, this is one you’ll want to keep in your coupon binder forever! This ad is telling you to go to Walgreens to buy Dulcolax for $6.99 and use the $2 off Walgreens Instant Coupon Savings (which is in the September coupon book) and the $3/1 Ducolax Coupon from the actual insert.

That’s right, this is an advertisement that asks you to come in and stack a manufacturer coupon and a coupon from the September coupon book. If your store does not allow you to do this, I invite you to show them this ad next time you have a problem. So, let us know if you found this in your insert too!

Walgreens Wants Me to Stack Coupons

by Christie Bisbee on August 11, 2010

If you have difficulty when trying to use your coupons either for a register reward deal OR in conjunction with a coupon in the Walgreens Monthly coupon book this post is for you. I went through this weeks ad and found several examples that you might want to keep in your coupon binder if you encounter either of these problems.

Using Coupons on Register Reward Deals
There are 2 examples this week of Walgreens encouraging you to use Manufacturers coupons from the paper in conjunction with a Register Reward deal. The first is for the Benadryl. You can see where I’ve circled the “Coupon savings in most Sunday papers” in the ad, right below the Register Rewards symbol. Why would Walgreens let you know there are coupons available if you weren’t allowed to use them?

A second example is for the Schick razors. Again Walgreens is letting us all know that there may be Coupons in our Sunday papers for the Schick razor. So, how can we be told that we can’t use them when we were just encouraged to go dig through our paper to find them and bring them in for this deal?

(Although in this case it probably should read in “some” Sunday papers since we know most areas didn’t get that coupon but that’s a whole other post. 😉 )

The point is that advertising something is available and then turning you down when you arrive at the store is, to say the absolute least, – very, very, very uncool.

Using Manufacturers Coupons & the Monthly Coupon Book
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite. Here’s an example of Walgreens saying “come in and use our $1 OFF Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo from our Monthly Coupon Book AND there might be a coupon in your Sunday paper too”. The ad this week is encouraging us to stack both these coupons. Why would they encourage us to do something if it’s not allowed?

So if you encounter either of these problems at your store, hold on to this ad. It’s hard to argue with the stores own advertising.

I try to post these when I see them but if you guys come across any more examples like these let us know! I’m considering getting this Garnier Fructis example printed on a T-shirt! 😉

Walgreens Wants Me to Use Coupons

by Christie Bisbee on June 7, 2010

Here’s part of an e-mail that Walgreens sent out yesterday. Thanks to Shannon for sharing it with us! It’s just another example for those cashiers who tell us that you can’t get a Register Reward when you use a coupon.

So, why would Walgreens be e-mailing it’s customers and telling them there’s a $4 coupon in the paper? Hmmmm… I’ve been collecting quite a few of these in either e-mails, weekly ads or inserts. My folder is getting pretty thick!

(Thanks Shannon!)
