The iHome iP39 at first glance looks like an ordinary ipod/iphone station. Clock, dock for the phone, speakers…..the kinds of features one would expect from a bedside device. But, the iP39 is a little different. Decked out with stainless steel-like panels on either side, it looks fabulous in the kitchen or the office. Able to play FM radio, it’s also capable of two different alarm sets.
An unusual, but welcome feature, is the magnetic remote control. A remote this small could be the plaything of curious little hands in a second! Building the remote to “stick” to the main unit is a nice touch. Also appreciated is the inclusion of a USB charging port for all your other portable electronic devices, diminishing clutter. The iphone/ipod dock slides away when not in use. No wonder the iHome iP39 received design and engineering honors at 2010’s Consumer Electronics Show. The iphone was designed as an ‘all-in-one’ device. ip39 carries forth that phiilosophy with style.
