Walgreens Refill By Scan & Giveaway!

I recently had the opportunity to check out the NEW Walgreens App. for iphone 3GS, iphone 4, ipad, and Android devices. The Walgreens App has numerous features to enhance your Walgreens experience whether you are shopping or refilling prescriptions.

The NEW Walgreens App has 5 principle features, all designed to help make your shopping experience easier. One of my favorite features is the Refill By Scan. With this neat tool you use your android phone or iphone to simply scan the barcode on your prescription bottle or label. The app will tell your Walgreens that you need a refill. You’ll even get a confirmation letting you know that it was received! It’s super easy. It took me just seconds to refill my prescription, so much better and faster than having to call it in. Other cool features on the Walgreens App are the shopping feature. You can manage your shop by hooking into Walgreens data base, creating a shopping list and even checking stock. I know how frustrating it is to get to the store and find they are totally out of what you are looking for (which this week seems to be Right Guard Body Wash, Noxzema Razors and Cottonelle Toilet Paper ;-)). You can use this app to get a better handle of the stock at your particular store. The Walgreens App also allows you to see the weekly ad on your phone, letting you plan your shop on the go.

There’s also a Walgreens Store Locator that uses the GPS feature in your device to help find a Walgreens near you. Additionally, it can find specific stores offering flu shots as well as Take Care Clinics….a very handy feature. Finally, the app view can be exploded to 2x scale so you can keep your reading glasses in their case!

Overall, a well thought out app. with very good functionality. It’s received 4.5 out of 5 stars on Apple’s App Store. A must for Walgreens shoppers on the go!
