Suze Orman Book Giveaway!

by Christie Bisbee on March 12, 2011

As some of you may know, in my “real” job I’m a certified financial education specialist with a non-profit agency. I travel throughout my area teaching people how to better manage their money, budget, pay off their debt and save to reach their goals. I totally understand how difficult that can be in this economy. Wild for Wags was born from that desire to help people make the most of their money.

One resource that you can use to help manage your money is Suze Orman’s newest website MoneyMindedMoms. This site is devoted to helping moms make smarter money choices. Community members have access to easy to follow advice about topics such as erasing and managing debt and raising money minded kids.  Plus, every month through May, one lucky member will win 1-on-1 time with Suze through the “Ask Suze” Sweepstakes.

To help get started with taking control of finances and getting back on track this year, Suze has also created a list of the 10 things moms can do to increase their financial savvy in 2011. Some of my favorites are…

  1. Make finances a family affair
  2. Live below your means but within your needs
  3. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst
  4. Get rid of credit card debt.
  5. Save an 8-month emergency fund

THE GIVEAWAY

MoneyMindedMoms and MyBlogSpark provided me a copy of Suze Orman’s “Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny” and will also provide one to (1) lucky winner! I’ll pick a winner Tuesday, March 15th at Midnight ET.

Luckily I don’t have a lot of debt – just student loans and mortgage. But I’d REALLY like to pay about $5k extra on those debts this year, which will be tough since we scrimp and save already.

Joy March 14, 2011 at 5:04 am

I plan to graduate from FPU (Financial Peace University). During the first 2 weeks I saved $1000 for my emergency fund. I am learning self control. I do a lot of couponing and Wild for Wags is on my must read list every time I get an email from here. I’m focusing more. I have an old Suze Orman saying stuck up on my bulletin board in my home office that says, “From this point forward I will do what is right with my money and not what is easiest”. It helps me to keep focused on my budget. This came from Women & Money 2007.
