Here is my scenario for someone WITH Register Rewards.

will there be a possible issue using the $4/2 Gillette coupon combined with the 3 B1G1 coupons?

Reply

Christie June 5, 2010 at 10:31 pm

Hi Laci, I don’t think so since the b1g1 is for (3) items, the $4/2 is for another (2) items and you’ve bought 6. But I’ll let you know tomorrow for sure!

Do I still need filler items? Are the Knee Highs consider the filler items even though I have to use a WAGS coupon?—I’m still learning.

Reply

Christie June 5, 2010 at 11:25 pm

No problem. The scenarios are exactly what you would need. The Ravina knee highs are the filler of choice for this week because they are cheap. However to get them cheap you’ll have to use a wags coupon that is in the actual walgreens ad itself. No need to cut them out. Just find the page and show it to the cashier and he or she will scan it or enter the last four digits and you’ll get the discounted price!

Thank you very much for the info.
As a newbie I thought that the number of coupons + RR could not exceed the number of items?
In transaction 1 I count 7 items and 10 coupons/ RR (5+3+2).
Can someone please tell me what I am getting wrong?
TIA

rj June 6, 2010 at 7:55 am

Looking again I think I get it -WAGs own coupons don’t count in the total. Is that right?

Reply

Christie June 6, 2010 at 10:12 am

That’s right, so the one’s in blue count towards your total, the one’s in red do not. Hope that helps!

Uggghhh. This is such a great scenario…BUT…both Walgreens near my house have REFUSED to allow a BOGO coupon with another MQ. Here’s what happened: I had a $1/1 Nivea lip care and a BOGO lip care MQ. The first walgreens told me I would need to get 3 items to use both Q’s. I totally (nicely) tried to explain that this was legal and she refused. I emailed corporate and of course the manager emailed me and said the same thing, I needed to have purchased 3 items. Then, I figured I’d try at my other Walgreens, and same thing. The cashier tells me I need to buy 3 items for this to work. She said that they all had to sign a letter from corporate saying that they were cracking down on coupons. So, that last Gilette deal looks awesome, but my Wags won’t allow it!!

Christie,
If I buy the Gillete razor and the Gillete body wash in the same transaction will I get both RRs printed since they are both P&G?

Also would I be able to use my PG razor RR towards the Gilette Body Wash since they are both P&G?
Thanks

Reply

Christie June 6, 2010 at 10:22 am

If you buy them all together you should get both RR. However, I would steer clear of using the one P&G RR towards the other P&G items.

the BIC solei wags coupon isn’t working at any of my stores, so watch it is you get them 🙂

Also, all the wags in my area are out of the body wash already 🙁 hope they get some in this week…

There’s a money maker on the free Always pads/liners MQ we received last week from the Kotex U deal. I bought 1 Always Dri-Liners Plus with Odor Lock 34 count and 1 Always Ultra Thin Pads 14 count. Buy 1 get 50% off. Use the MQs from the Kotex U deal – $4.19 for the liners, $3.99 for the pads. 50% off was taken on the pads, it’s a $2 money maker!! (I didn’t know about this til I checked my receipt).

Christie June 6, 2010 at 8:49 pm

Wow Maria. I’m going to have to try that out! That would be awesome!

Reply

Maria June 6, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Sorry..typo on my comment above. “Buy 1 get 50% off” should be “Buy 1 get the other one 50% off”

Kathryn June 6, 2010 at 9:04 pm

The BIC in-ad coupon did not work for me today either. Manager had to adjust the price because she didn’t know what was going on. Hope they have gotten it fixed now…

Reply

Maria June 6, 2010 at 9:20 pm

Yeah, it was really great!! I did that in my last transaction (my last 2 Always MQs). I had 2 other Always MQs I earned for the Kotex U, but I used them in my previous transactions (one per transaction). If I only knew about the B1G1 50%off beforehand……
Also, maybe if 2 Always Liners MQs are used, it’ll be a $2.10 moneymaker instead.

Here’s that last txn I made:
Always Liner 34 count = $4.19
Always Fresh Ultra Thin 16 count = $3.99
Neutrogena facial soap 3 * 2.69 = $8.07
Butterfinger choco 2 pieces = $1.00
Total = $17.25

Use:
1 – $5 RR from Luster White
1 – $2 RR from Ecotrin
1 – Free Always Liner up to $5
1 – Free Always Ultra Thin (the cashier keyed-in $3.99)

To pay:
$2.07 + tax, but since I got the $2 from the B1G1 50% off from Always, $2 was deducted.

So I just paid:
0.07 + $0.56 (tax)

Earned $10 RR from Neutrogena

Christie June 6, 2010 at 11:37 pm

Hi Adam, the razor isn’t part of the $25 deal. Wish it was! As for the coupons for the razors are you trying to buy the Hybrid? I’d stay away from the Soleil since people are having such a hard time with it.

Saveinla June 6, 2010 at 11:24 pm

Christie,
Just came back from Wags and the Bic Soleil is not working as many others mentioned. Usually some cashiers that I know will override it to the coupon amount since I got the one pictured in the Ad, but both the cashier and the manager were new, so I told them to just void the whole transaction. The Bic hybrid advance worked fine though.

I have one question – will I always have to pay tax and any extra above the tax – even if I do the transactions the same as that you have listed. Tax is very high here in So Cal.

Thanks

I was told by a Walgreens employee that I cannot get a RR if I pay with a RR. Is that true?

Also, for the tax question, remember you always pay taxes on the FULL amount of purchase. Not the amount after the coupons are subtracted. If you have free items, you still have to pay taxes on them.

Reply

Christie June 7, 2010 at 1:35 am

Teri – I suggest checking out the FAQ. Using RR to pay for other items that produce RR is really the goal. 🙂 Also, different states have different tax rules. So, some lucky ducks get to pay taxes on the after coupon amount. I have to pay taxes on the full amount too but not everyone will.

Thanks christie……my $3.00 off coupons are only for the soleil 🙁

Reply

Christie June 7, 2010 at 1:39 am

Adam – Hmmm… someone e-mailed me that they bought the blue soleil and it worked for them. I haven’t tried it so I can’t confirm but maybe give it a shot. If you do let me know if it works!

It is sort of suspicious that all 3 walgreens I went to very early this morning (Sunday) only had one or two Gillette body washes on the shelf and when I asked if they had any more, all 3 stores replied that “they didn’t send us any this week, but check back later on this week or next week to see if they get any more in”. They also did not have many Old Spice stocked. SO, I replied that it was weird since you have to buy $25 to get the register reward, so, in theory, they should have adequate stock for someone to buy $25 worth, and all 3 stores suggested I buy some of the other qualifying products in the ad to get the reward. hmmmmm… seems fishy to me. I wonder if someone anticipated the coupon rush on gillette body washes and purposely didn’t stock them to see if we’d buy other items? I arrived early enough that it wasn’t a case of someone buying them all.
p.s. the blue bic soleil worked for me – the cashier was very nice and ran back to grab another one to see if it worked – I had the yellow one originally and that one didn’t work, although pictured in the ad.

Christie June 7, 2010 at 10:59 am

Thanks Andrea, yep, that sounds funny to me. I’d ask them to order the Gillette and tell you when the next truck is coming. What’s with the stores you don’t want you to buy anything???? They are going to make back every penny from the manufacturer with your coupons so what gives?! Geez!

Teri Law June 7, 2010 at 4:01 am

Okay, I just went to Walgreens and did not get the RR for the Fusion razor. Clerk said I could not have RR since I paid with a coupon. ($4.00 mq) So I talked to her and she did another fake transaction, had the RR print and she gave it to me. But I had to convince her to do it. As a retail employee myself the name of the game is to move product off the shelves yet when their own program (RR) is being used they get nasty. I just don’t get it.

Reply

Teri Law June 7, 2010 at 4:05 am

Christie – What is the “FAQ”? I know the goal is to use the RR to pay for items the produce RR but that does not help me when the cashier is bearing down on me telling me I can’t pay with a RR and get a RR. Although tonight I did pay with a RR ($5.00 hershey) and received the $10.00 neutrogena. But at a different Walgreens.

Christie June 7, 2010 at 10:56 am

Teri – Do you have another store you can shop at? The manager at that particular store sounds like they have done something to the machines because that’s NOT the way it’s supposed to be. In fact if you look at HERE you’ll see an example of an ad that was in inserts across the country telling people to come in and use their coupon AND get a Register Reward. There was even an e-mail from Walgreens for the razor deal with $4 coupon in most Sunday papers and it’s in the ad! I would call corporate about that one. How can they advertise ($4 coupon in most Sunday papers) and the Register Reward deal and then not let you use them! FAQ – is Frequently asked questions.

Kathryn June 7, 2010 at 9:10 am

Teri, One reason that your RR may not have printed in because the RR you used to pay with was for another P&G product. This has happened to me before and I didn’t even realize it

Reply

Teri Law June 7, 2010 at 10:42 am

No, I only used the $4.00 coupon, no RR and she said because I used a coupon for the product I could not get a RR.

I also had a little trouble at the register with the Walgreens Q for the Bic Soleil razors. Thankfully, I had a flirty young man who was willing to figure it all out for me. lol I purchased the Soleil that was even pictured on the Wag Q and the manager came over and took down some numbers from the package and entered it into their system so all future purchases of those same razors would automatically ring correctly (at $3.49) when using the Wag Q. So thankful for nice cashiers and mangers!
