I would scrutinize the jewelry very carefully, including testing the gold and silver or taking it in for appraisal. Too often the auction listing is not accurate. I am not a jewelry expert, so I thought everything I got was just so unbelievable. But I ran into trouble when I bought a jewelry loupe and began inspecting all the jewelry I bought from Bidz. Here is my exchange with Bidz.com on epinions.com regarding a 1/3 ctw diamond ring bought nearly 10 years ago that turned out marked “CZ” on the inside of the band.
