Walgreens: Updates From the Field 5/6

by Christie Bisbee on May 6, 2012

Here are some Walgreens updates from my trip that hopefully will help your trip go a little smoother!

LYSOL NO-TOUCH KITCHEN SYSTEM: Great news on this one! Because the $1 Manufacturer’s coupon didn’t run in the paper for this Walgreens has increased the Register Reward to $2.50! If you have the $3 coupon & the $3 MIR from All You, that makes this only .49!

Walgreens Deal
Buy Lysol No-Touch Kitchen System 8.5oz $8.99
$3/1 Lysol No-Touch Kitchen System, (ALL YOU Mar ’12) or (SS 04/15/12)
Total = $5.99, Get Back $2.50 RR
= $3.49, Send in for $3 MIR Lysol No-Touch Kitchen Starter, x5/9/12 (ALL YOU Apr12)
= .49 EACH!

Now if I can just find what I did with my April issue of All You. 😛

KELLOGG’S NUTRI-GRAIN BARS: For whatever reason the Apple flavor are NOT printing the RR. So you’ll want to stick to the other flavors, like Strawberry for this deal. I’m sure it’s just a mistake and they didn’t program the UPC for the deal. (Thanks Victoria & Frugal Finders for letting us know!)

T.N. DICKINSON’S WITCH HAZEL: Be on the lookout for a Try Me Free peelie on these! If you find it you’ll have a $4 Money Maker after Register Rewards. Also these are located where you’d find first aid products not by cosmetics. The Witch Hazel in the cosmetics section has different packaging.

Walgreens Deal
Buy T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel 16oz $4
Total = $4, Get Back $4 RR + Submit for Try Me Free Rebate
= $4 Money Maker!

DAILY FEATS COUPON: Great news on that Daily Feats $5/$35 Walgreens coupon! It actually worked for me on a $35 purchase BEFORE coupons and RR. Plus when I logged into my Daily Feats account it told me I could request it 2x per month if I had enough points.  So here’s a deal idea for you!

Keep an eye out for the Lysol Starter Kit + Refill for an even better deal (these work also). I didn’t have a problem with rr printing for the apple NutriGrain bars. Be on the lookout for the strawberry bars that have $5.00 worth of coupons on the back that expire 3/31/2013. I was lucky to find the axe shower gel on clearance at my store that also generated the rr for an even better deal.

Nice finds as always Shannyn!

i got 2 of the lysol with extra refill!!! i was so excited!

Aman May 6, 2012 at 5:35 pm

I thought for the $5/$35 coupon the total had to be after coupons.

Reply

ginger May 6, 2012 at 6:20 pm

thats what i thought too.

Reply

KATIE COLLINS May 7, 2012 at 12:05 am

The manager scanned mine before coupons

Reply

Victoria May 6, 2012 at 5:37 pm

My RR didn’t print for the apple NutriGrain bars but the manger gave me a RR in gift card form with no problem. Other than that everything went smooth.

Kelly May 6, 2012 at 5:45 pm

Christie, you’ll have a moneymaker once you submit for your witch hazel mir, way to go!

Reply

Francoise May 6, 2012 at 7:18 pm

If could only find all of those items in stock in a single store! That would be Heaven! But I appreciate the scenario Christie. It’s great to have to work with and just make adjustments as necessary.

Reply

TERZAK May 7, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Very eloquently written, Francoise – I couldn’t agree more!! I love this scenario, and have tweeked it to my liking by adding glade, lysol kitchen soap, and 2 bags of pepperidge farm cookies, and deleting the toothpaste, mitchum, kotex and Kellogg’s . Christie, thank you so much for figuring this out!! I’m also hopeful that the products I want are in stock, but if not, it’s great to have options for work-arounds,

Christie–Weren’t you the one who told us to print the $1 Lanacane coupon a few weeks ago from coupons.com? If you printed it, then it’s a $1 moneymaker. Of course I forgot to use it and just discovered my mistake! Check your binders!!!

Christie May 6, 2012 at 8:23 pm

I forgot about that coupon too! LOL! Thanks for the reminder! 🙂

i tried to do a a transaction today & after using RR, total was 1.50, tried to pay credit and the store computer froze, looked like one of the newer ones… after another try, i ended up doing a smaller transaction, same 1.50 after RR, paid cash, went thru… is there a limit on RR, or did paying credit cause the issue? If anyone is familiar with the register freezing up?

Reply

cristy May 6, 2012 at 8:19 pm

Seems to happen quite a bit … The store I go had it happen a couple time in a 1/2 hour period. They said it happens all the time so they just reboot and rerun the transaction at another register. Sounds like it is an issue with the new system.

Joan May 6, 2012 at 8:34 pm

register froze 3 times on me the week with the 99 cents Pepsi Next RR. at the 4th try, the cashier scanned the Pepsi Next RR first instead of last, then no freezing. very weird!

Reply

Jackie May 6, 2012 at 8:39 pm

The computer froze 4 times, I moved to a new register and it happened again. The manager keyed in the $8 RR manually and never had anymore trouble. It happened with the $8 RR on Complete every time he tried to scan it. I was paying with cash, so it wasn’t the manner of payment. Frustrating, but the deals are worth it. 😀

Susan May 6, 2012 at 10:06 pm

The register froze up for me after trying to do a big transaction. The manager voided it and I broke it down to 3 transactions and it went perfectly. From now on, I am just going to small transactions. I hate busting their registers!!!

Reply

Vic May 7, 2012 at 2:39 pm

The $8RR for Complete froze up the register at my Wags, too. When the manager keys it in, it goes through — the only way it doesn’t freeze up. Definitely not the form of payment – it’s done this to me with credit card or gift card. It’s only certain register rewards that do this.

Heather May 7, 2012 at 12:32 am

I agree 100% with you! It always takes forever and the %&$# thing always freezes! I can’t stand the new registers!!!!

so i dont know of this is correct or not so i hope someone could help me or cprrect me frappucinos are on sale 4 for 5 dollars with in ad coupon pepsico insert says 2 dollars off 2 frappucino coffee drinks and/or 4pk doubleshot coffee drink does that mean i can use 2 coupons for 4 dollars off and get 4 for a dollar because the coupon states and/or please let me know thanks

Reply

Cathy May 7, 2012 at 1:54 am

No, I think you have it wrong. The in ad coupon is probably for individual cans. The Pepsico coupon is for buying 2-4packs of either flavor. I don’t have the ad in front of me, but I did just check the coupon. Sorry, if it was that good of a deal someone would have caught it on their match-ups.

Reply

Brenda May 7, 2012 at 6:13 am

rodney szafryk,
Unfortunately it won’t work. The coupon that you are referring to is only valid on the 4 pk. You would need to purchase 2 of the 4pk. frappucinos or doubleshots to use that coupon.

Does anyone know if the UKotex is still rolling this week?

Reply

Missy May 7, 2012 at 12:32 am

Yes, it is. I bought 3 this morning and rolled each one.

Reply

Whitney May 6, 2012 at 9:55 pm

Rodney, I believe the and/or is referring to either Frappucino coffee drinks or the Espresso drinks. Either one has to be the 4pack

Reply

Debbie May 6, 2012 at 10:18 pm

i got the strawberry and apple Nutri grain bars and didn’t generate a RR….the manager thought maybe because of the new boxes/product code. He had to scan other kellogs products to get the RR.

Reply

Ciera May 6, 2012 at 11:01 pm

The $5 off $35 coupon worked for me too even though my total was less than $35 after coupons and RR’s. The Nutrigrain RR also didn’t print for me when I bought the apple but the cashier refunded me and rung up two strawberry and it worked but I got to keep the apple!

Reply

TERZAK May 7, 2012 at 12:05 pm

Hi Ciera – DId you use the $5 off $35 coupon first – and then give the cashier your mfg coupons? Oh, and was this a store with the new or old cash registers? Thanks so much for any feedback!!

KATIE COLLINS May 7, 2012 at 12:04 am

my walgreens had the lysol kitchen with an extra refill in it & it cost the same & you got the rewards & I had a $3.50 tear pad coupon from a while back & the rebate!!! woot woot woot

Also, I had a $5 off Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner that expires in a couple of days (May 9th???). After RR, it was free. So check binders if you didn’t get to use that high value coupon yet like me…

Reply

Marissa May 7, 2012 at 1:29 am

wasn’t there also a rebate coupon that was around the same time as the 5$ coupon?

Reply

Vic May 7, 2012 at 2:40 pm

Marissa – the rebate expired on May 4th..

Does anyone know if we can use the $2/1 Aveeno body wash on the Aveeno baby body wash for the wags deal this week where you get $10 RR when you buy $25 worth of products?

Reply

Pricila May 7, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Can you roll the kotex if the stores has new registers or is that something you can do only on the old registers?

Anyone know if they’ve fixed the RR on the Nutrigrain apple version? I could not get it yesterday so manager had to ring K bars instead to get it to print, but I would like to get the apple ones tomorrow at my local Wags if it’s working now….goes in lunch boxes every day so at $1 box I’m thrilled!
Thanks all! This has been the greatest place to find out everything Wags…I’ve even sent my local cashiers to your website so they know how to get the deals too!

Reply

Christie May 8, 2012 at 9:24 am

Thanks Chris! I haven’t heard about the apple getting fixed yet, but maybe someone else has.

My $5 off $35 didn’t scan, did anyone else have this problem? Not sure what went wrong but the manager wouldn’t push it through and I couldn’t come up with a valid reason why he should. any suggestions?

Reply

Camille Brown May 8, 2012 at 9:20 am

I bought 4 Aveeno Skin Relief body wash at $4.79 each and 2 Aveeno Positively Nourishing body wash at $4.99 each and used six $2 body wash coupons. I didn’t notice until I got home that I didn’t get the register reward. Was it because I used coupons? Actually the coupons wouldn’t scan and the manager entered them manually.

Reply

Jessica May 8, 2012 at 6:49 pm

If they were all marked as part of the reward, your reward should have printed even if you used coupons. On the Ad itself, it does state ‘select varieties’ , so, not all products are included. If all of your purchase did come from items that were marked at part of the reward, I would go to your store and speak with the manager ASAP and hope it is still fresh in the cashiers mind and hope they honor it and take you on your word that it didn’t print. This is why I always get to know all the people who work at the stores I go to. It makes times like this a whole lot easier to deal with and handle.Good luck!

Reply

Michelle May 9, 2012 at 2:26 pm

The exact same thing happened to me. The manager took the items after my transaction was complete and scanned them by themselves seperately and then a $10 reward printed. He gave me that reward but I still can’t figure out why it didn’t print the first time.

Anyone else have any luck with the 5/$35 coupon from Dailyfeats?

Reply

Jessica May 8, 2012 at 6:40 pm

I noticed a couple of people talking about ‘getting away’ with using the $5/$35 coupon in the wrong way. Personally, I would seriously say something to the cashier even IF they do try to scan the coupon first. Just because you can ‘get away’ with it, doesn’t mean you should do it. I would rather point out the mistake the cashier is about to make and be known as an ethical couponer who get amazing deals than just someone who coupons and gets amazing deals. I for one teach people how to coupon and one of the VERY first things I tell them is; never try to cheat the system. If you can’t follow the clearly stated rules on the coupon, you shouldn’t use it. I personally did not try to use the coupon any other way than the printed intructions that are on the coupon and I beleive I got a GREAT deal.

I bought:
Witch Hazel
Glade Sense & Spray
Complete Multi Purp
Lanacane
(2) scrubbing bubbles
U by kotex
Lysol no touch w/ bonus refill
finish

Coupons used were
(2) $5 scrubbing bubbles
$3 sense & spray
$3 lysol no touch
75cent FINISH
$3 RR
$5/$35 store coupon

I paid a total of $34.21 oop
I received $29 in rewards and have a $3 mir for the lysol no touch.

Amazing deal and I followed the guidlines clearly stated on the coupon.
