So if there is an unadvertised RR how do I know if my store is doing that offer? I wanted to do one on toliet paper and floss this week but I didn’t see any signs on the product or advertised in their flyer.

Reply

Megan May 6, 2011 at 3:10 pm

I believe if it is unadvertised and it doesn’t automatically print out your RR then there’s nothing you can do about it. If it’s clearly in the weekly ad but there are just no signs up, then it should print out your RR and if it doesn’t then just show them the ad.

You can still call catalina for your reward. Even though it’s unadvertised in the store or the ad, Catalina knows what Register Rewards are available.

I did the deal on toilet paper last Sunday. Got three 12 packs and received the $4 RR. Worked like a charm so basically I got a package for free! yay! There were no signs other than the the main one for the ad-specified sale.

I believe I found the information on the catalina rewards site. I can’t remember for sure.

There will be free Clean and Clear body wash with the coupon that is B1G1 in 3/27/11 ss. Enjoy everyone, please be kind by buying a few and leaving some for everyone else.

Reply

Lisa May 6, 2011 at 11:05 am

But the ad is only B1G1 50% off. If I use a B1G1 free with that, I still have to pay something, right?

Reply

Megan May 6, 2011 at 3:12 pm

In this ad they are b1g1 FREE but if in your area they are b1g1 50% off then yes you would still pay for the 50% off one. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Are the Gillette ProGlide Razors a monthly RR deal?

I believe so, yes. 🙂

I got register beeping when I attempted the Cottonelle TP deal, and the cashier told me I couldn’t use all my coupons. Is it because of the order I gave my coupons in? It’s really annoying because I just did it a few days ago, and it worked fine!

Reply

san May 5, 2011 at 6:19 pm

It shouldn’t really matter which order the coupons are in. I’ve done the cottenelle deal many times, since I have many computers to print coupons from.

More details about your transaction would better help us answer your question.
How many and which coupons were you using and what items did you get?

You have to have the same or more amount of items as manufacturer’s coupons/Register Rewards not including the Walgreens in-ad coupon or monthly coupon book.
For instance,
In one transaction, You get two cottenelle then you can use two of the .50/1 coupons and the walgreens $1/1 coupon, but would not be able to use a register rewards because you only have 2 items, and this register reward would count as your third coupon. All you have to do is add in a filler item, most times there will be something real cheap by checkout, like a pencil for .16¢ or candy for .39¢.

Using a Register Reward from the Cottenelle deal to pay for another Cottenelle will result in no Register Reward.

I’ve had the tp deal work for me twice before, but for some reason yesterday it wouldn’t through. That’s why I assumed it was because of the order of my coupons. I was using (2) .50 off Manufacturer coupons, 3 RR, and the Wags $1 off coupon. I was attempting to purchase (2) packs of tp, and a small bag of that kettle popcorn with the chocolate drizzle which is currently on sale for .39. I was using that as a filler.

I handed her the all my coupons, and it let her ring up the Wags coupon and one of the .50 off, but it beeped on the other two. She told me it was because I already used two manu coupons (though I knew I hadn’t), and she said that I couldn’t use my RR on the $.39 popcorn because it was 3 dollars. I didn’t even want to sit there and try to explain anything. I just had her void it out. Just have no idea why sometimes the transactions work and sometimes they don’t.

The RRs each count as a manufacturer’s coupon, so according to the register you had five MQs and only three items. You can only have as many MQs as you have items.

Reply

Stephanie May 5, 2011 at 11:14 pm

It wasn’t 3 separate one dollar register rewards. It was just one coupon for $3. I’ve never had that count as 3 separate coupons before.

Reply

Samantha May 6, 2011 at 9:30 am

If I’m counting right, you used 2 $0.50 cpns, 1 $3 RR, and 1 Wags cpn, that would be a total of 4 coupons and you were only purchasing three items. That might have been the problem.

Reply

Kiapita May 6, 2011 at 9:44 am

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thougt you meant three different RRs. No idea why it beeped, then.

Reply

Melannie May 7, 2011 at 4:00 am

I had it beep at me. Then they voided the coupons, applied the RR first then the $0.50 x 2 and then the Wags one. I had two cottonelle and 1 pack of pens.

It was my own fault I usually hold back the Wags one till then end ad was not watching what I was doing.

Also normally I do the RR as part of the payment, but store policy is what it is.

Reply

Parker May 5, 2011 at 6:32 pm

Use the MQ 1st and then the coupon in the book or it beeps.

Reply

Melissa May 6, 2011 at 2:48 pm

I did this exact same thing yesterday..You MUST give them the manufacture coupon first! I am going back today to see if that solves my problem..

andrea jones May 6, 2011 at 10:36 pm

IS the cottonelle a monthly reward? Or just a weekly? I got 2 but the next day the store was out and still does not have any. * hoping it is a monthly!!!!*

I’m new to this so let me ask a simple question. If I’m doing the Cottonelle deal and I have 3 of the $1 off Walgreens coupons can I use all 3 of them and still get the RR?

Reply

Christy G May 5, 2011 at 2:34 pm

So is the Cottonelle deal not till Sunday or is that on for right now? Thanks!

Reply

Stephanie May 5, 2011 at 4:02 pm

It’s working right now. I got some on Sunday, but had some issues yesterday with getting my coupons to go through.

Will the Pampers diaper coupon in the Walgreen Infant Care booklet take off $2 per pack of diapers, or is there a limit to the number of diapers you can purchase?

Reply

Megan May 6, 2011 at 3:14 pm

You only need one of the store q’s and it will take $2 off each pack.

Reply

Heather May 5, 2011 at 9:09 pm

Hi! Just a question about Register Rewards, as I just went on my first Walgreens shop today! I received 10 RR coupons, totaling about $19. So I understand that I need to buy “filler” items if I want to use these RR’s with manufacturer coupons. My question is this- can the filler item be less than the value of the Register Reward coupon? Would the overage then be applied to my other products I am purchasing with manufacturer coupons? Hope that makes sense! Thanks!

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 9:25 pm

Heather, that’s exactly right. So if you are buying Kellogg’s for $3 and you have a $1 coupon, you’ll need a filler. So grab a $.10 pencil. Now your total is $3.10 – $1 Kellogg’s coupon = $2.10. So you could give a Register Reward for $2 and you’d just owe $.10. 🙂

old spice body wash on sale for b1g1 half off they are 4.49 a bottle…I also have a coupon for b1g1. I don’t know how many coupons to use or what I would end up paying. Please help.

Reply

Megan May 6, 2011 at 3:17 pm

2 bottles would be $6.75, your b1g1 coupon would take off $4.50, so your total for 2 bottles would be $2.25. You’re basically just paying for the 50% off bottle.

Reply

Trisha May 5, 2011 at 10:26 pm

It seems like there is a $1.50 off 2 Glade scented oil candles IVC in the May coupon book. That would make for pretty good deal.

Reply

Kiapita May 5, 2011 at 10:47 pm

Just wanted to pass this idea on to people who aren’t done with their Wags shopping yet this week … There is a B1G1 Fixodent coupon in the 4/3 RP. I am thinking of seeing if I can use this with the $3 off Fixodent coupon from this past week’s PG Sampler to get two boxes for a dollar. And then I’d get $1 RR back. I’ll try it tomorrow and let y’all know if it works.

Reply

Megan May 6, 2011 at 3:21 pm

I hope it works for you but I think the b1g1 q attaches to both items, so you wouldn’t be able to use another manufacturer q with it. Keep us updated!

Reply

Kiapita May 7, 2011 at 10:26 pm

It worked! Sorry it took a while for me to respond, but I guess people still have a couple hours depending on the time zone …

I’ve had the beeping problem too with the Cottonelle deal. I made sure i had enough items per coupons. The cashiers were good and manually entered it so it would go thru tho. I looked at my receipt and it is showing the walgreens coupon as a manufacturer coupon??? (it says MFGC, just like all my other manufacturer coupons.) i think thats why we’re getting the beeps? but i dont get it, cuz it isnt a manufacturer coupon.

Reply

Roz May 6, 2011 at 1:27 am

Ok, so i just looked at the walgreen coupon book and some actually say on the bottom “manufacturer coupon good only at Walgreens” and then others just say “coupon good only at Walgreens” what the heck??

Reply

Donna May 6, 2011 at 1:14 pm

Yes, some of the Wags coupons (like the ones printed out at the register for a specific product) say Manufacturers Coupon on them. So they count as a coupon.

A Walgreens cashier let me know today that Walgreens may do away with RR. Why, you ask? B/c people are returning products w/o the RR! Which is unethical if not illegal.

She then told me some stories of fallout when people get called on their deception: lying, yelling, complaining and so forth. It’s insane.

Why must people take a good thing and try and rip off the system? First TLC hoarders, and now this.

Also, in case you haven’t heard, here’s another downer:

http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/business/stories/2011/05/06/coupon-cutoff.html?sid=101

I’m just saddened by the whole mess. 🙁

If Walgreens does away with RRs needless to say I will do away with Walgreens, unfortunately.

Donna…i’m not talking about the coupons that print out at the register…i’m talkin about the coupons in the monlthly coupon book. I had assumed all were store coupons…but some say “manufacturer coupon good only at walgreens” on them but they do not look like a man. coupon! And that makes me wonder if really we shouldn’t be using other man. coupons along with the coupon from the coupon book (since it states manuf. coupon on it). confusing.

Going on my first Walgreens shopping trip to get RR tomorrow. Just wondering – is a RR just like a gift cert or shopping card? I found the list on their website of excluded items, like tobacco and alcohol. Other than that list can the RR be used on any purchase??

When you split your items into more than one transaction can you use the RR from the first transaction on the second one?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Reply

Kimmy Brooks May 14, 2011 at 12:43 am

Yeah, basically RR is a gift card, used on anything you buy there with the exception of the items that are printed. You can definitely do two transactions and apply the RR from your first transaction to your second one with no problem. I do it frequently. 🙂

Ken May 10, 2011 at 5:51 am

I had trouble with the Tresemme RR deal. I bought 1 mousse, 1 heat protectant spray, 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner. The RR didn’t print. The manager looked into it, and apparently this one only prints for groups of 4 in the same product line. I.E, shampoos/conditioners or styling products – not 2 out of each group although they are all 4/$15. So he just rang up 4 mousse products, gave me the RR and said he would void the transaction later. I got to keep what I wanted because he wasn’t in the “mood” to exchange. I hope my RR still works.
