FYI…I keep seeing the rebate for the Glade Expressions being posted several places without mentioning that the rebate is NOT valid without the “try me free” hangtags from the stores. 🙂

I have extra hang tags if anyone wants one.

Sorry to be a pain but the Halls coupon is only good on 20-30 ct. so you can’t use it on the 17 -ct 🙁

Hi, I have a question about the balance rewards. Is their a limit on the products we can buy? For example If i want to buy 3 Glade sets of 3/4.00 or 3 Blistics for free is that possible or is their a limit.Thank you in advance for you help

i know Im concern 2.

That is a good question. I was wondering if the card will track purchases as well.Because if it does that means if I wanted to purchase 2 packs of say the dentek flossers in different transactions I wouldn’t get a reward for that purchase at all.

The blistex is a RR, so I am thinking the rules for those stay the same. Buy 1 and get 1 RR.

I asked a manager tonight and he said he wasn’t sure. I was asking about the water that is 1.99 and then you get 500 points. He said he thought that since the ad says limit 3, then you could only do it 3 times…3 total whether it be in 3 seperate transactions or buying 3 at one time.
I usually go to Wags 1st thing Sunday mornning, but I think this week I’ll wait until the afternoon so I can read what everyone else is experiencing. 🙂

I heard the purchases would be tracked. Like CVS…so you cant continue to get deal after deal. ( this was from my local walgreens cashier)

Reply

kari September 14, 2012 at 8:57 pm

of course it will be tracked i figure it out from day 1

Points and sale prices will now start Saturday at 12:01am for every store. With some/most stores placing ad tags during Saturday, there is currently no manual way to add points to a members account.

So far, all I see is much confusion for Consumers and Clerks, and tons more work for anyone trying to explain it all, like Christie.

I’m just thankful they still offer a reward system. I often find the shelves bare from others over shopping. It was only a matter of time before Walgreens had to start tracking and limiting transactions.

I completely agree. Maybe now I’ll have a shot at getting a tube of the free-after-RR Blistex.

I’m SUPER CONFUSED about the points system for this card. I know RRs and ECBs print out at the register so it’s like instantly in your hands…but what about these points? Do we have to wait for them to get into our accounts before we can use them? Are they going to print out on the receipt like ECBs at CVS does, or do we just have to “know” how many points are in our system? So basically, how do we redeem points? I’m sorry for all the questions but it’s confusing!! Thanks!

i meant account instead of system in the fourth sentence. sorry!

The fine print on the Balance Rewards page on Walgreen’s site said the points will be posted to our accounts within 3-5 days of purchase. I doesnt say where to check to see how many points you’ve earned or how to redeem them. I’m confused too!

I made a purchase today at my store and put my phone number in and at the bottom of my receipt it printed my balance out.

Here in Missouri we have had the rewards card before. It does take several days for it to show up on your account and previously there was a separate rewards web site set up that you signed into. It tracked your purchases and showed points earned. From there you would print the say $5.00 reward certivicate and redeem at the store or online. Those, like my mother, that do not use the Internet could call a 1-800 phone number to have the certificate mailed to her. Haven’t read the new policy yet to see if it’s the same as before.

I really don’t plan on shopping anytime soon with this ridiculous rewards program. I think Walgreens is trying harder to seem like CVS with this new program and it’s a complete fail. Having to get fillers and paying extra OOP, cashiers are rude and don’t enforce the coupon policy, the new registers are a nightmare and you have to give them the coupons in a specific order or else they wont scan. And once the cashier hits the pay button there’s no going to back to void any items or add any new ones and they must call a manager and completely void the entire transaction. Makes me wonder why I shop there at all…

Like everything else there’s people out there that abuse the system. Sorry some are upset but it’s had to come down to this. if this was your business I’m sure you would do the same. I’m not a fan of the new system but what can we do?Guess still be thankful for the few deals that wIll still come our way. we’ll make it not the end of the would 😉 but sometimes I wish it was-this stuff won’t even matter. 😉

I was at Walgreens this morning and the checker informed me that starting tomorrow you have to have a “reward card membership” to get any of the sale prices. He showed me the ad for next week and it is listed in the ad by each item with the reward membership icon that you have to have the membership to get the sale price. So if you want to continue to shop at Walgreens and get their sale prices you must get on board with this membership.

One thing I don’t understand is that a RR was actually a manufacturer coupon. To my understanding a BR seems like a Walgreens discount. So I don’t see how Walgreens was losing from the RR system. If anything they will lose more from the BR system??

Reply

shannyn September 15, 2012 at 5:06 pm

So is a BR some kind of hidden manufacturer coupon?? The tricky part will be consuming your BR on things that don’t give back BR or we will be losing. The worse part about it is that if it doesn’t have a BR then it is most likely way overpriced to even justify the cost.

I went to Walgreens on Friday and wanted to use my $3 off 2 Aussie products. I put two of the Aussie Mega hairspray in my basket and had the cosmetics manager (very nice and always helpful) come over to me and tell me that I couldn’t purchase that because I had already purchased 6 of them and I was clearing the shelf. I politely told her that was not true, but I will not buy the last two but could I purchase and use my coupon for another Aussie product that they had plenty of and she said yes. How embarrassing! I always carry my receipts with me and I was ready to whip them out to prove it. I am hoping that this system will keep track of everything that I buy so this situation doesn’t happen again.. I am soooooooooooo disappointed with Walgreens that I don’t know if I want to keep spending my hard earned money there anymore. Why should I be questioned when I am more knowledgeable than their own employees and know how to get great deals (thanks to you guys).

I didn’t have the $4 RP coupon for Gillette. But I was able to use the Gillette $5Q off WYB Gillette(P&G 8/26) along with the Free Mach3(P&G 8/26). I got all 3 razors for 14.98 plus $10 RR. I had cashier scan the free Mach3 Q first. I didn’t try it any other way so not sure if the order made a difference. Any one know if you can use 2 of the $5 Gillette Q’s in the same transaction?
