Problems, problems. The cashier told me if I used the $10 rr from the vitamin chews on the transaction where I purchased something else earning a rr that it wouldn’t print. She said you can’t use a rr and earn a rr. I told her that as long as they are from different companies you should be able to do it. I have been couponing for a couple of years and that’s how it has always been. I did the transaction anyway, smug in my belief that I was correct. Well, it didn’t print???? Does anyone know why?

Nothing’s changed, so not sure why. Was the cat machine working? Was it out of ink or paper? Any red lights on?

The machine was on because in the first transaction I bought the vitamin chews. I cannot figure out what happened. I am watching to see if anyone else reports this.

Hmmm – no I went to two stores today and had no problems. Used my $10 i-cool and $3.50 Barefoot to pay and got all my register rewards.

Christie…..

this is an excerpt from the policy

“Points will not be earned in a transaction where Redemption Dollars or Store
Credit is used”

Lisa – Points are Register Rewards are not the same thing.

Dawn was having problems using her Register Rewards. You can use RR and get RR back. You can use RR and get points pack. The policy is referring to using points and then earning points.

You can’t use an rr and earn an rr. This started last year

Reply

Christie Hardcastle January 25, 2015 at 8:10 pm

Yes you can. As long as it’s not the same offer.

I have never heard of you can’t earn a rr if you use one. As long as they are from different companies, you should be able to use them. I know it’s only $2 but I am calling WAGS today. Also, the cashier made a comment about the store changing it’s policy because people were cheating and paying nothing. (Duh, that’s couponing done right) I find it hard to believe that each store can change the cat machine to not print one if you use one. They act like they have no control over what comes out of the machine.

The exact same thing happened to me last Sunday except the RR did print and the cashier told me it shouldn’t have and she wasn’t sure why it did. The situation left me thinking that either she entirely misunderstood the RR policy or something was changing that I hadn’t hear about. Hmmmm…..

Nothing has changed. 🙂

I had a problem today too. I purchased the KY and used a $1 mfr coupon. I had 2000 balrewards pts so I asked the cashier to use them. He said I didn’t have any pts. I said OK and thought I was mistaken until my receipt printed out and showed 2000 pts. I went back later and made another RR purchase and used a mfr coupon and tried to use my pts again. And again, the cashier (diff one) said I had none. I looked over at the screen and sure enough the “other options” button was no longer there. The cashier said it must be because I was getting RRs, but I’ve done this before with no problem. Did they change their policy?

My store says the same-can’t use RR to pay for items getting an RR. Could this be a regional difference or just store to store?? I am confused.

Reply

Christie Hardcastle January 25, 2015 at 6:19 pm

No that’s just incorrect. Not a regional difference. As long as the RR is from a different offer, you can Roll your register rewards.

Has anyone had problems finding the Crest mouthwash 16.9 oz. I have looked for the
last several weeks that it has been on sale with no luck. I did not know if it was my store or if it every where.

In SE Missouri RR didn’t print for Crest or Kraft Mac n cheese. Mgr issued points.

I used my $2 kraft RR toward the vitamin and it worked no problem. BTW, there is a coupon for $2.88 off a box of the vitamins inside the box. Nice little surprise for when I go shopping tomorrow….hehe

Mine too! I bought 2 boxes and one had two coupons in it. I did go to another walgreen this morning and those boxes did not contain the coupon. Same expiration date different lots.

The Kraft Mac and Cheese didn’t print a RR the manager went and got a Velveeta one off the shelf and it triggered the RR and she gave it to me. I paid with a RR from my first transaction. You can pay with RR and receive RR if it is for a different brand.

Which Mac & Cheese?

Hi Christie. Went today to get the KY, the rr’s are rolling. Tried it 4 times. Each time worked.

Christie Hardcastle January 26, 2015 at 4:44 pm

Darn it – I tried and it didn’t work. Maybe they fixed it. Glad you got it.

I commented under the “updates” about the same issues… what a hassle it has become! One Manager said their Catalinas have not been printing for several weeks and Catalina is SO slow to come out to fix them. But could it be a machine issue if none of the RRs are printing??

Christie Hardcastle January 28, 2015 at 12:59 pm

Maybe something is up with your Catalina machine. Did they try ringing you up at a different register – like photo?
