Walgreens Shopping Scenario 12/14

by Christie- on December 13, 2014

Walgreens Shopping ScenariosHere’s my Walgreens shopping scenario for 12/14. In this scenario you’ll get $16.59 in merchandise, after sales and coupons you’ll pay as little as $4.34 out of pocket (depending on your coupons) and keep $2.50 in Register Rewards. So it’s like you’re getting everything for $1.84 or 37¢ per item, not including the gift sacks.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS

-) You can’t have more MQ than items! Blue = MQ
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) I always bring some extra fillers with me to the register, in case of an emergency!

Hi! I am new to couponing and have never used RR. I intened on using your shopping scenarios today to see how this goes. At checkout is there a prompt that asks you if you want to use you RR towards your transaction? Is there a way to use some of our RR towards your purchase? My plan is to build up my RR and use them towards dish and laundry soap; pampers;etc. to greatly reduce the cost. Any suggestions? Thanks!

RR are printed off at the end of your transactions like Catalina coupons, for a certain dollar amount off your next purchase. They usually expire 2 weeks after printing. You can earn multiple RR on one deal, so long as you didn’t pay for said deal with a register reward earned for that same deal (but earlier transaction). For instance (totally hypothetical, not real deals), if you earned a $2 RR for purchasing Tide, bought another tide and paid with the previous tide RR, a new tide RR would not print. However I’d you earned a $2 colgate RR, and used it to pay for your tide, you would receive your tide rr at the end of the transaction.

Balance reward points, however, can be saved and used towards larger future transactions if you like though!

Also because RR are printed after paying, they cannot be used in the transaction in which they are earned.

Balance reward points cannot also be earned on transactions where you pay with balance reward points. Because of this, I alternate transactions where I pay with points on transactions where I earn RR, and pay with RR on transactions where I earn points.

They usually do not ask, you will just need to have them ready when you check out. Use any walgreens coupons first, then manufacturers coupons next, then the RR. But you need an item for each mfc and rr you use. So if you have 5 items and 3 of those have mfc, you will be able to use 2 rr. If you do not have enough items, you can use a filler (something that doesn’t cost much) to use more rr. There are candy canes that are 3/$1 or the candy cane pens are 3/$1. Look around, you may find other items on clearance or on sale for less than that. The Christmas sacks are on sale for 6/$1 I think. Good luck!

RR is Register Reward which is a manufacturer coupon that prints out and must be used within two weeks. I think you are thinking of Balance Rewards which can be used once you have 1000 points but become more valuable if you let them stack up (40000 is worth $50). You can’t earn points in a transaction when you are redeeming points either).
