Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 6/22

by Christie- on June 21, 2014

Walgreens Shopping ScenariosHere’s my shopping scenario for 6/22. In this scenario you’ll get $20.72 in merchandise, after sales and coupons you’ll pay $7.92 out of pocket and end up with $4 ibotta deposit. So it’s like you’re getting all of these things for $3.92 or like you’re saving 81% off the sale prices.

There are several very good points deals this week, and if you have a $10 RR from last week look for my scenario to roll this at the bottom. Or, you can stop at Transaction #1 and save your points for later. However, there are also a lot of good sale deals, including the great news that Walgreens is now selling ground beef! I may just burn a couple of RRs from last week for dinner.;)

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS

-) You can’t have more MQ than items! Blue = MQ
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) I always bring some extra fillers with me to the register, in case of an emergency!

Transaction #1

Transaction #2
Buy (2) 7 Up TEN, 2L, 88¢  w/ In-Ad Q
Buy (2) In-ad Coupon for 88¢ 7Up (1509), p. 4
In-ad Coupon for $1.99 Domino (1505), p. 3
Total = $5.74

OR (2) $0.40/1 Domino Granulated Sugar, exp. 6/30/14 (RP 04/06/14)
(1) $1.00 on ONE (1) 12-pack cans or TWO (2) 2-liter bottles of 7UP TEN, A&W TEN, Canada Dry TEN, RC TEN or Sunkist TEN Soda (68130)
$3 (3,000 Balance Reward Points) from Transaction #1
Total = as low as 94¢

You end up with $4 ibotta deposit so it’s like getting 2 Advil, 2 Ban Refresh cloths,  2 Domino sugars, and 2 7up TENS for $3.92 or 49¢ per item.

If you are looking to roll one of your $10 RR’s from last week into points, here’s an idea for you…

Does a $1/2 Q count as 2 Qs or 1 toward the no more MQ than items rule?

Ok – so let me chime in here. 🙂 Most of the time $1/2 coupons are coded to attach to two items. So you would need an additional item to use the RR.

Occasionally, a $1/2 coupon will just attach to one item but it’s not the norm, so it’s best to always plan on having that extra item for the RR to attach to. So this week the 33¢ Hunts Tomato sauce is a good choice. 🙂

Brooke, it count’s as 2. So if you have 2 items, a $1/2 & RR, the register will not take the RR b/c the $1/2 has attached to both items and you need a filler. Unless that’s changed?

It’s physically one coupon. You should be able to use a RR.

Yes, it is physically ONE coupon. However, Walgreens and their fine wisdom, has it programmed for those coupons to attach to ALL items within the coupon group (ie 2, 3, 4). So when you try to use a RR, the RR won’t have anything to attach to. Its the things like this, that make me not shop Walgreens much. Waay too may rules. At least at CVS you can use as many ECBs as you want, and you don’t need a stupid “coupon to item ratio” to do deals.

It seems everyone is unsure on this. Lol. I thought it was 1 but I was told last night it was 2 when I tried to use a RR.

Unfortunately because of these changes I am shopping much less at Walgreens. Every cashier and manager has a different idea on the coupon policy. Cvs is my main focus now and with the BOGO sales at Walgreens I take the ad to Walmart where they let me use coupons on the free item and they match at Walmart price which is much less!
