by Christie- on April 12, 2014

Free at WalgreensboosterWe have a Points Booster coupon in the ad for next week. Spend $25 and get $5 (5,000 Balance Reward Points). This will only be available from Sunday thru Tuesday. If this is programmed like the last points booster coupon, you’ll have to reach $25 before manufacturer coupons are deducted, but after the Walgreens coupons (in-ad or monthly book) are deducted.

Plus, last time I was able to do three separate transactions and received the $5 in Balance Reward Points each time. Just don’t forget to show the coupon each time you do a transaction. Here is a scenario for you to consider. I’ll post a couple of more scenarios a little later. Stay tuned!

Is there a limit on ban wipes?

at my store it is one per customer per day, so everyone can have a chance to get
one.

All stores are different when it comes to a limit. Most managers are really cool as long as you do not clear the shelf. 4 is the limit at my store.

I think this new almay coupon excludes makeup removers.

Bella April 13, 2014 at 4:12 pm

It does include, there is a special print in the lower left of the coupon

Thoughts on using this on almay deordorant?

Man I didn’t even get the coupon. Bummer!!!

I just checked the Almay coupon. It says “INcluding makeup removers” (rather than EXcluding). So it should be fine.

How many times can you use a coupon clipped to your card? For example the Burt’s bees $3/1. It also say mq on it so does this affect the $25 requirement?

Reply

Christie April 13, 2014 at 11:30 am

It should not impact the the $25 requirement BUT it will only work once on one item. So you are going to need to print the coupon too since I’m assuming you’ll want to use multiples!

My Walgreens was $4.99 for the tresemme shampoo – still a great scenerio. Thanks.

I went to Walgreens and did the complete scenario you listed plus added a dozen eggs – it didn’t work. The clerk said I had to have $25 before mfg coupons. The cash register rejected my mfg coupons. She said I either used the mfg coupons or rec’d the 5000 bonus points.

Christie April 13, 2014 at 3:40 pm

Darlene – that is correct it’s $25 Before Mfg coupons. I have no idea what your cashier was doing but they were 100% incorrect. You just need to spend $25 before coupons and you’ll get the points. I did this scenario and it worked perfectly fine. I don’t know if adding the eggs had any impact as I didn’t purchase eggs in my transactions.

Darlene, I think it is because of the eggs, I once bought eggs, butter and turkey bacon and wanted to use points to pay and I had more than 5000 points and I could only use 1 000 points to pay and she said something about dairy and eggs…you cannot use or earn points from dairy, cigarettes etc. I think that is the problem, the eggs are not counting towards your total

Grace is right , $25 before mfg, but exclude tobacco, gift card, dairy, etc.
I wanted to purchase the sour cream, unfortunately, it was dairy product and thus the computer would say I haven’t meet the $25 purchase requirement.

Thanks, Grace – – I live in NW Indiana and tried another Walgreens in our area after it worked for other people – the scenario wouldn’t work again minus the doz eggs – – clerk tried and the mfg wouldn’t go through. She said I needed $25 after mfg coupons.

I went to my walgreens and for some reason had to reach 30 dollars to get the 5000 points even though the coupon said 25′

Bella April 13, 2014 at 4:13 pm

Yes dairy is excluded, I wanted to do the $25+ with sour cream and turned out sour cream is a dairy product 🙁

On the ban wipes at my store there were try me free rebates on them as well. Would I be able to get the rebate for the $3.99 even tho I used a coupon to get them free?

Reply

Alice April 13, 2014 at 4:17 pm

I found the try me free rebates too !! But I think using the mfg coupon will prevent you from getting the rebate, because then it will count as if the manufacturer reimburse you twice. . I used my points for the rebate offer

Anybody not going to use their free ban coupon. All 3 of my papers did not have the coupon. Email me if interested in trading. [email protected]. Thanks!!

I bought eggs and mine worked. but I added some sharpies as filler to use my 99c rewards from last week so it must have bumped me to 25 without the eggs. My store was out of black sharpies so I bought some colored ones and they rang up at 39c bogo free! I added black ones at a second store and they came out to the 64c that the coupon said, so I have no idea what happened but I’m not complaining =)

since I didn’t get the Almay coupon, I had to rework the above scenario. I substituted Almay and toothpaste for Vidal Sassoon Hair color $7.99. We had a $5/1 coupon in today’s newspaper, so after all MQ, Morton RR and balance points, it was absolutely free. thank you!

What is the Mars deal? Where are the coupons from? Thanks!

Reply

Marylynn April 14, 2014 at 5:08 am

I was told I couldn’t use coupons or if I did it had to be total after coupons either way it had to be actually $25 out of my pocket

Reply

Darlene April 14, 2014 at 3:32 pm

Please read above Marylynn – I tried two different Walgreens in our area – both times the cash register refused my mfg coupons. Clerks told me I needed $25 after coupons. It might be the area I Iive in.
