by Christie Bisbee on June 29, 2013

Here’s my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for the week of 6/30. That’s like getting everything for $2.22 or about 91% off!

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS

There’s a 1/1 gum toothbrush coupon from 5/19 SS that can be used to make the RR a 1 dollar moneymaker.

I was just asking at my Walgreens tonight regarding redeeming in $5 increments. My cashier said it was recently changed and you can do $1 increments now.

You can redeem as low as $1, $3, $5, etc. You have to ask the check out person to use your rewards as they don’t always show up on the customers side during checkout. The cashier sees it every time but may not ask.

All walgreens point redemtions are the same, 1, 2, 3, and 5, if your Walgreens is saying you can’t redeem between 1 and 5, then you should ask cause the register doesn’t always prompt for the points to be spent

I was at walgreens last night and asked about the sale price starting early… The manager stated to the cashier that they will not be doing early sales due to their recent sale overlaping…. (sad face)

Redeem $1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 at face value (ie: 5,000 points for $5). Redeem $20 worth with 18,000 points. Redeem $35 with 30,000 points. Redeem $50 with 40,000 points. And points CAN pay for sales tax! So if your total is $19 pre-tax, and your final total is $20.60 or whatever, you CAN use 18,000 points to pay for $20 of it. But the $5/20s are not like that: your total must be $20 BEFORE TAX in order to use the $5/20 cat.
It’s too bad you can’t redeem $15 worth, as that would go perfect with the $5/20s! (assuming you’re buying stuff with no coupons with your points)

Last time I tried redeeming 10000 points and it wouldn’t let me. Cashier said it was only giving me the option of 5000 points. She even showed me screen.

Went to Walgreens as soon as opened this morning. Wanted the Refreshers from Starbucks they are awesome. Noticed on first transaction it gave me a catalina for $1.00 off of two Starbucks Refreshers, was free after the register rewards.Next transaction I bought two Refreshers since I had the catalina coupon and got both free after the $1.00 register reward back. On the second transaction I received another catalina for $1.50 off of 3 Refreshers have not used that one yet.

I went to Walgreens this morning For some great deals. Thanks for all the tips.

My store doesn’t carry the Refreshers, they never have. They said it was because our Pepsi/Coke (whichever makes it) couldn’t get it in our area. That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard! Our Walmart carries it! So I don’t understand how he couldn’t get it. I am pretty sure he stocks both stores.

I thought you couldn’t earn RR in a transaction that you redeemed RR. Or am I under the wrong impression. Everything that I have read thus far has said this… :/

Reply

Christie June 30, 2013 at 6:39 pm

Krystal – No you can I do it all the time, just not for the same product. So you can use a RR for product A to buy product B and get a RR for product B. Just don’t use a RR from product A to buy another product A because THEN you won’t get another one. Hope that helps! 🙂

Thank you so much Christie and Kate!! That helps so much.

You can’t roll the RR into the same brand. Example you buy colgate tp, you can’t use your RR to now buy colgate mouthwash & get the RR. I had a list of that brands are owned by what companies, not sure what I did with it.

Sharell, I work at a walgreens and the last time the refreshers were in the ad we couldn’t get them in because the distributer had a contract with walmart to get them. Now our store carries them but it may be different in the are you are in
