I just got back from Walgreens – no catalina. My transaction was at 12:14am. I purchased 10 velvetta shells. Walgreens would not budge on the catalina. Any suggestions on how I can get my $10.00 catalina?

The catalina system at Walgreens resets every night after midnight I would wait until after 12:15am to do any catalina transactions. After 12:20 to be safe.

The help! 16ct I’ve cut myself or 8ct I have a blister Packs are listed as sale price $3 in my ad with a $3 RR. So free …your 3rd scenario lists $3.99…

Reply

dropofrain August 26, 2012 at 3:37 am

it must be regional then. My add lists it for $3.99 and it rings as $3.99. I just came back from the store.

Reply

Kate F. August 26, 2012 at 1:38 pm

My ad said $3 too, but watch the register because they rang up for me at $3.99. Once I pointed it out to them they adjusted the price.

I haven’t been shopping at Walgreens for awhile because I did not see anything that was worth my time/effort. I just returned from the store mainly hoping to do Kraft deal (wanted 4 Mayo, 4 velveeta shells and 2 dressings). Well, I stopped 30 minutes before midnight and they were already out of Zesty Italian dressing. Manager said they were going to get more next Thursday. this threw me off my plan because I only printed 4 coupons each for other items. When I was checking out, Mayo coupons would scan with no problems but 2 velveeta coupons would not. Cashier adjusted price manually. Then store coupons would not scan. So, he cancelled whole transaction and started over again. This time all velveeta coupons would scan and Mayo coupons would beep (WTH???). Again, he did something to manipulate totals. On the top of everything store coupons would not scan because the corporate did not activate September booklet. This poor guy had to adjust sale price again (2/$5 mayo and 2/$4 shells). By that time there was a line of people waiting to get their beer and cigarettes, giving me weird looks. Maybe that was a reason why I do not shop there as often anymore πŸ™

I went once at Midnight only to find out that Arizona Walgreens are on “California time” – and none of the deals were active in the computer yet. AZ is an hour ahead. Had to go drink coffee at the local Denny’s to kill time for an hour.

I did the exact same transaction an had the same thing happen!! And the manager would not change price for me because she said it was a Internet coupon? I was upset. I only got the Mac n got $2 back instead of $10 I figured

sharell August 26, 2012 at 4:34 am

I got six dressings, and 4 velveta. My velveta ran up right, but the dressing rang up $3.99. Manager went to see the walgreens website, saw it listed so he corrected the price, I didnt have any problems with any of the coupons or the coupon book. We just got in the new registers, and it was all good.

Reply

Christie August 26, 2012 at 11:31 am

Great Sharell! Looks like the registers weren’t updated to the correct price. And your manager handled it perfectly. πŸ™‚

Reply

LaceyD August 26, 2012 at 1:43 pm

my store was the same with the dressing but corrected the price also. here’s what i got today 1 kitkat .59, 2 haribo gummies .79 each, 2 kraft mayo 3.00 each, 2 velveeta shells 2.00 each, 2 kraft deluxe 2.00 each and 4 zesty italian dressing 2.00 each after all coupons (i didn’t have any for the kitkat or kraft deluxe but still a good deal) and tax I paid 12.62 oop and recieved the 10.00 register reward so 2.62 for everything not too bad

Catie August 26, 2012 at 3:04 pm

I had the same issue with the dressing; told them it was listed on the website as part of the bonus and the manager said to adjust it

Reply

Holly August 26, 2012 at 8:47 am

My friend went this morning and the salad dressing is ringing up $3.99. And to make matters worse, the paper ad doesn’t have it in there; it’s only on the online ad. The manager wouldn’t honor the online ad (or even look at it), so needless to say we’re calling corporate. Argh…..why is Walgreens so unfriendly to couponers?!?!?!?!

Reply

kim August 26, 2012 at 5:32 pm

Same thing happened to me today except my dressing rang up $4.29 and I bought 6 and 4 velveeta. Velveeta rang up right though. It’s hard to try and explain that something is on sale when the manager looked at me like I was crazy when I explained that it was a “bonus buy” and was in my online ad. He kept saying that it was an online price only!!!!! Then when I called corporate, same thing! She didn’t understand what “bonus buy” i was talking about because she couldn’t see it on her ad!!!! ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Reply

Debbie August 26, 2012 at 8:53 am

Anyone having problems buying more than 6 velveta shells? I was only able to use 4 manufacturer coupons and the system won’t accept the last too. The manager said their was a limit. Also, the dressing was ringing up $3.99 as well.

Reply

Cheryl August 26, 2012 at 1:57 pm

I bought 6 Shells & 4 regular mac & cheese – I used 6 shells coupons. It shows on the receipt that 4 of the shells coupons attached to shells and the other 2 attached to the reg mac & cheese.

LizA August 26, 2012 at 10:28 am

Watch the Stayfree Pads — mine were ringing regular price. After a very unfriendly and against corporate policy discussion with the Ass. Manager (and yes, I mean that) I got them for the advertised price with coupons. The AM tried to say something stupid about limits and not being able to take them off the register once rung up.

Sorry, but I won that one. See ya next Sunday!

Reply

Cat August 26, 2012 at 9:06 pm

Love your “see ya next Sunday” comment. I struggle often and regularly with coupons at Walgreens, but I’d never just stop shopping there. The RR deals are just too good. But if I need an item at regular price for whatever reason, I head to CVS. The service is just so much better there, even if the deals often aren’t that great–like this week.

Reply

Rachel August 26, 2012 at 10:43 am

Same situation- 3.99 for the dressing! Total waste of time!

Reply

Christie August 26, 2012 at 11:30 am

It’s an advertised bonus buy. You can show them the bonus buys (either print them or show them your phone). Or just tell them, they can look it up. Obviously they didn’t update their system, they can just manually update the price for you.

Reply

Susan August 26, 2012 at 11:57 am

My dressings rang up $4.29 each. I will try printing out the bonus buys and showing them.

Reply

Kate F. August 26, 2012 at 1:40 pm

I used my phone to show them and the cashier adjusted the price without a problem.

Reply

Lori August 26, 2012 at 10:53 am

The Zesty Italian dressing is ringing up at $3.99 and since it wasn’t in the ad, the manager wouldn’t honor the price. I’m in Richmond VA.

Reply

Jackie R August 26, 2012 at 11:04 am

Dressings are NOT on sale at my Walgreen’s. I had to recalculate everything.

Reply

Christie August 26, 2012 at 11:28 am

Print or show them the bonus buys on your phone. Looks like it didn’t update in the register but it’s an advertised deal. So until they fix it they’ll need to update the price manually.

When trying to get the super deals, shopping at Walgreens is always a pain in the butt.

I just got back from getting the Kraft deal. There are 4 Walgreens within 2 miles of me, so that helps. First trying to get 6 of any item on sale at Walgreens is tough. The closest Walgreens to me was out of the Shells & Cheese, so I got them to check there computer and there was 1 store that had enough. This was around 10 this morning. So you need to get to the store when it first opens.

Drove to that store about 2 miles away. The cashier was an older lady who was very slow. There was no line when I got there, so I was hoping to be done before a line formed. The Shell and Cheese rang up fine, but not the Dressing. I had the online weekly ad showing the sale price and their store address and she still had to call the manager and I had to convince her. Of course, now a line is forming. After she priced match, the total was still wrong, so she had to go see what she did wrong.

The good news it did take all my online and Walgreens coupons, but I wanted to pay with RR and it would not take them. I bought an extra item so I had 11 items and 8 (6 Shell and Cheese & 2 Dressing Coupons), so I should have been able to use 3 RR. But it did not work and the line was really getting long, so I did not fight it.

campanita August 26, 2012 at 12:42 pm

I know the feeling, there is 2 stores close to my house and in one there is always help in the beauty counter so I always pay there, but in the second store usually I have to pay in the front register (I hate it), even though you see many employees walking around the store, second store has many unfriendly cashiers towards couponers :{
I won’t be doing the Kraft deal because of the low stock on all Walgreens, I was in need of mayo and I got it at CVS for $1 a piece.

Kim August 26, 2012 at 12:35 pm

Yup, stayfree rang up regular price at my store too…

Reply

When you look at the ad on-line at Walgreens.com it will automatically include the bonus buys. πŸ™‚

I got 6 Shells & Cheese at my Wags this morning. Everything went perfectly- Rang up for $12, -$3 for the Sept coupon book, -$6 for the Kraft IP coupons = $3 OOP and got a $5 RR back. First time in a long time it’s gone so smoothly πŸ™‚

Reply

Christine August 26, 2012 at 12:54 pm

Kraft Zesty Italian actually rang up $3.49, but they would not honor the price on the internet. So, I only got 4 velveeta’s for free after the RR’s. Also, the stayfree had to be manually changed in system to reflect the advertised price.

Where do you see the Kraft salad dressing for $2? It inked 3.99 at my store.

Reply

Dee August 26, 2012 at 2:03 pm

My dressing also rang up for 3.99 but I was prepared with my walgreens app showing the 2/$6 price but they wanted to a bar code to scan and we could not find one even though it CLEARLY stated the bonus bar price. The manager looked it up on her phone and found it but because she couldnt find something to scan she wouldnt price adjust it. So I just ended up putting it all back. Ill back a trip to a different walgreens later and see if I have better luck. Also Ill check to see if there is a bar code I can print from online. I dont even eat macaroni ,..lol but I do donation boxes for clients all the time so it would be great addition!

My Wags was cleared out of the shells & cheese, but honestly I think they probably only had about 6 in stock because the space for them was so small. Some lucky person got there before me to get them and they’re probably the only one that would get to do the deal this week. They did have 6 of the salad dressing, but I would have had to clear that shelf and I really didn’t feel like going through all of it. I don’t have a smart phone, so I wouldn’t have been able to show them the online ad. After seeing all the problems people had today, I’m kind of glad I didn’t attempt it. I did get coupons in the mail this week for a free Aussie product and a free Herbal Essences product, so I got one of each and got the $2RR from the deal on those this week. I’ll definitely be going back later in the week for the 15% off sale on Wednesday. That extra little discount should actually make for some great deals this week!

Anna August 26, 2012 at 3:31 pm

Maybe it’s because the Kraft bottles in store say ANYTHING on them. The ad isn’t the same bottle. My manager adjusted the price anyway. Not sure just a thought.

FYI in NJ – Tried two separate Walgreen’s here in NJ and Kraft Deal did not go through πŸ™ No RR for purchase. Upon returning the items Managers were not to thrilled and mentioned they had no idea about the Kraft deal.

Help I am new & confused – how can you use the September Walgreens Coupon Book discounts when it is still August?

Reply

Christie August 26, 2012 at 9:38 pm

The books always start on Sunday – so the this book starts today 8/26 basically the first Sunday of this monthly period. πŸ™‚

They didn’t have any out so I asked for the coupon booklet & they told me that I couldn’t use it till Sat.9/1.

Reply

Christie August 26, 2012 at 10:03 pm

Whoever told you that was… uh confused… you can ask the manager to take a look at the front page of the book where it clearly states starts 8/26. Plus it’s advertised all over the ad.

Terrible day at Walgreens today. The coupons and wags coupons all had trouble and I ended up paying $4 more than I wanted to. I bought 6 shells, 2 dressing, and 2 mayo. Used 6 shell coupons, 1 dressing coupon, and 2 mayo coupons. I tried using the wags coupons for the shells and mayo but neither would adjust off. The manager and cashier tried ringing and re-ringing. The cashier said she was sorry and gave me back some of my manufacturer coupons. I just gave up and bought everything since I spent almost an hour trying to get everything corrected. I feel bummed because I’m reading that other people’s transaction went so smoothly. I don’t know where I went wrong.

Reply

Amanda August 27, 2012 at 12:27 am

Thanks, but I ended up going to an other Wags across town. They had the booklets out. Kraft shells & cheese rang up perfectly & used the store coupon. I did take 2 booklets & I will go tomorrow to the other Wags & stock up a lil more. The shelves were full since they were not honoring the coupons!!

Reply

Christie August 27, 2012 at 9:34 pm

What item are you talking about? None of the items in this scenario are unadvertised, they are either in the ad or bonus buys in the on-line ad, so you are going to have to be specific in order for anyone here to help you.

Tried the Kraft combo myself today, and oops…I made the mistake of thinking Oscar Mayer cold cuts (owned by Kraft) were in the deal. Darn. I got $5.00 back in Rewards instead of ten and realized the problem. So I’ll go back and try again with another transaction, and stick with the Kraft only products.)

Wow…our Walgreens said they were overwhelmed with the number of sales slips they had to put out, and most of the store was not updated and it is Monday…really?? I had to hunt for the Free Rewards items, like the Heartburn Spray. It is not easy to find the items this week, but without the slips, they were still in stock. So not only now is Walgreens going crazy with the number of coupons stacking consumers have to do, they can’t even handle their own stores.

Our Pic N Save (Roundy’s) has double coupons on Wed and Saturday (the classic buy $25 to double $5), and they often put additional items on Special tagged sales which are specific to each store, so you have to visit a couple and can get some amazing deals with outside coupons (I just gots five Tums double pack refresher free because they were $1.97 and I had a $1.00 coupon that doubled). But the problem, is the sales prices on these items rarely rings up. So today I had to get $13 back. It gets really old and never enough time to check receipts until you get home. I think it is really a problem, but at least they have a double back the difference policy and I always ask for that for my time.

Melissa August 28, 2012 at 3:09 pm

Did anyone else notice the kraft coupons have disappeared from coupons.com, I printed them yesterday from my phone and the laptop but when I went to print from the desk top today, they are just gone! Any advice?

My aunt was told that Walgreen’s changed their coupon policy and no longer will adjust a coupo down. She was going to purchase Stayfree pads that were a $1.99 and the manger said she would not adjust the coupon down to $1.99, she said it was against corporate policy.
