Walgreens Shopping Scenario: 7/1

by Christie Bisbee on June 30, 2012

Here’s my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for 7/1. In this scenario you’ll get $20.86 in merchandise, you’ll pay $7.31 out of pocket and end up with $2 in Register Rewards. So it’s like you are getting everything for $5.31 or about 76% OFF.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS
-) You can’t have more MQ than items! Blue = MQ
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) I always bring some extra fillers with me to the register, in case of an emergency!

Wanted to let you know that the libby’s canned vegetable coupon popped up at zipcode 77477 since it never lasts long

Does coupons.com still allow you to print 2 of the same coupons anymore? I just tried to get another Mitchum coupon by hitting refresh and using the back button to go back to the printing coupons page but it didn’t work. Did they change that now?

The 1.00 off of nabisco cookies and crackers doesn’t seem to be available anymore. 🙁 I only had one printed and went to get some more today for my kids, good snacks for them.

My store did not get the turkey bacon or the Hersheys, and they said they don’t expect to have them till later on in the week if at all. They limited register rewards to one per person per day, first time I ever saw that in the store I go to most often. Fortunately my mom and granddaughter were with us so they, kinda reluctantly let them go through the line too, lol. I had a ten dollar RR from the copertone yesterday, so I got ten dollars of Walgreens paper plates and napkins–used my AARP card and got a $3. RR back. That was fun!

Carmen, you may want to call corporate and ask for a district manager to call you. It is likely they do not kn ow the store is doing a 1 per day limit- most do not approve of that. They usually go to 3 a day. Its work a shot!

Hershey’s July book coupon had to be manually entered. Mitchum RR worked fine.

Thank you, so much! I used your format to document my own shopping scenario below.

I had originally planned to buy the Mitchum deodorant using the coupons ($4.42) and milk ($3.29) for a total of $7.71. Then I came across Christie’s scenario on wildforwags.com. After gathering all of the coupons, I wound up getting $31.80 in merchandise and paying $9.09 out of pocket. This is only $1.38 more than what I had originally planned. In fact, I didn’t do any extra spending, because I would have bought the dates ($2) anyway. My children are enjoying the treats and an extra toothbrush is always good to have on hand for guests. AMAZING!

Note: Due to cashier/manager errors (explained below), I wound up paying less than I should have. I should have paid $10.30, which is still a savings of about 68%.

TRANSACTION #1
Bought:
(2) Mitchum Deodorants 2.5 oz. 2/$6
Total = $6 + $0.42 tax
Discounts:
(2) $1/1 Mitchum or Mitchum for Women product printable
– Out of pocket= $4.42
+ $4 RR Mitchum

TRANSACTION #2
Bought:
(2) Nabisco Cookies 5 oz. 2/$3
(2) Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Pouches 5.6 oz. 2/$6
Total = $9 + $0.42 tax
Discounts:
(1) $1/2 Nabisco Cookies or Crackers printable
(2) $1/1 Hershey’s Simple Pleasures printable
(1) $1.50/1 (x2 = $3) Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Pouch 5.6 oz (5203) Walgreen’s July Coupon Book (Store coupon did not scan, even with fillers. Cashier would not manually enter–insisted it was a MFG coupon. Had to get a refund from the manager for the $3. He decided to refund the candy at 2/$6 and re-ring at 1.50 each. As a result, they accidentally refunded me ½ the tax.)
(1) $4 RR Mitchum
+ Out of pocket= -$0.79 (since I got my refund after transaction #3, the credit carried over, except for $0.21 tax.)
+ $1 RR Nabisco

TRANSACTION #3
Bought:
(2) Oral B Pro-Health Clinical Pro-Flex Toothbrush $3.49
(1) Butterball Turkey Bacon 6oz $0.99
(1) Gallon Milk $3.29
Total = $7.77 + $0.24 tax
Discounts:
(1) $1/1 Oral B Toothbrush, exp. 7/31/12 (PG 07/01/12)
(1) $0.55/1 Butterball Turkey Bacon, exp. 8/31/12 (SS 06/24/12)
(1) $1 RR Nabisco
– Out of pocket= $5.46
+ $2 RR Oral B

TRANSACTION #4

Total = $2

(1) $2 RR Oral B
Out of pocket= $0

I was told that the Mitchum deal was going to run through the end of the month like until the 23rd?? I just went to my store because I planned on using the rest of my Mitchum coupons to roll the deal with the EOS RR’s and the signage is down and I don’t see it in my store’s ad. I’m so confused. Did it end early or did I miss something?
