I’m confused on why you couldn’t use happy cash to pay for the transaction. Could you please further explain?

Reply

Christie March 22, 2014 at 10:00 am

Sure…Assuming that the Happy Cash will work like the Jingle Cash during the holidays if you use the Happy Cash, on a deal where a certain dollar amount must be met (like this deal: Spend $15, Get $3 in points), odds are you won’t get your points, or Register Rewards. So avoid using your Happy Cash for those types of deals.

So, if you bought $15 in cokes and paid with $5 in Happy Cash it makes it like you spent $10, not enough to hit your threshold of $15. This is assuming it works like Jingle cash, which is my guess. Of course we won’t be able to test it till tomorrow.

Can you explain when you should use happy cash. I am new and it seems very difficult to spend $30 and still save money. What do you typically use it for?

Reply

Alison March 22, 2014 at 10:08 am

Thanks–that helps a lot. I am worried about being able to use my happy cash. Do you think it might work if I buy $20 in coke (making it $5 more)?

I know we won’t know for sure until tomorrow. I appreciate your help!

You are very welcome! I’d hold off using it on these types of deals until we have know for sure. 😉

I didn’t get the points, but I pointed it out to my cashier and the manager added the points to my account without a problem.

I have noticed in the past that stock up coupons (Happy Cash and Jingle Cash) seem to pro-rate the discount across all eligible items in the transaction.

I’m planning on using my Happy Cash tomorrow, but I’m going to buy (6) 12 packs and (2) Triscuits. If I did the math right, I should still be able to earn the points after the Happy Cash has been applied.

I will let you know tomorrow if I get the points! 🙂

My scenario worked! I earned 3,000 points.

Kelly March 22, 2014 at 9:54 am

You can also get $1 back for the triscuits on Checkout 51!

Is coupon only good at Publix?? Looks like it when I printed it out.

Reply

Harriet March 22, 2014 at 11:07 am

It’s a manufacturer coupon, Marsha. So you can use it anywhere. My Walgreens will take them!

What zip code? Not finding the coupon for coke

Reply

Christie March 22, 2014 at 11:35 am

Will I get 3000 pts today even though my local circular only has 3 for $10 for coke products but does not say anything about the balance rewards points?

Reply

Christie March 22, 2014 at 11:35 am

Yes the points is all month long. 🙂

Reply

Sue March 22, 2014 at 11:28 am

My ad has the 3/$10 Cokes this week. In your scenario for today, will you get the 6,000 points? I don’t see that part in my ad for this week. Or is it dated in this coming weeks ad as already started?

Thanks for your help, I love your site!

Christie March 22, 2014 at 11:34 am

Hi Sue – the Cokes points is a monthly deal just the price has been different. If you look at the little blue tag on the cokes in the pic you can see it’s thru 3/29 (the points). It’s kind of small in the pic I know. 🙂

Thanks so much, Christie! Off to Walgreen’s today!

Say, another question since I’ll be going. On the Mars candy that is $1.50/3. What coupon that we have is good on it? Having a hard time finding one good on the small 1.6 oz. size. Thanks.

Christie March 22, 2014 at 12:16 pm

No coupon that I know of but you’ll get back $1 (1,000 points) so 17¢ each. Yum.

U do have to spend 30 to use happy cash so I wouldent think it would b a prob

Jane March 22, 2014 at 11:37 am

The coupon states “redeem at Publix” NOT “redeemable at”. That makes a difference. just because it says “manufacturer” on it doesn’t mean it can be used anywhere. What that means is that Publix has made a contract with Coke to put out a coupon that is to be used at Publix only and the manufacturer has set aside funds to pay them for it. It may scan at Walgreens but if they accept it they eat the price of the coupon because Walgreens WILL NOT get their money back. “Redeem” is a command word, “redeemable” is a suggestion 🙂 You can contact any manufacturer’s customer service dept. and they will tell you the same 🙂

Jane, I think Christie knows her stuff pretty well and I don’t think she would post something that wasn’t okay to do like many other blogs do, she is always very honest and posts only deals that are legit and not against coupon rules.

Reply

Montanna March 22, 2014 at 12:53 pm

If that was the case, why didn’t they make it a publix only coupon? They do it with other stores (see targets gerber or dial coupons).

Reply

Marie March 22, 2014 at 1:13 pm

I just went and checked what I printed and all that I printed say Redeemable at Publix at the bottom right hand corner of the coupon. They also have the Publix logo on them. Anyway, they are valid at Walgreens or wherever you should choose to use them. I think you meant well in what you were saying Jane but double check your information. Have a Coke and a Smile!

Carrie March 22, 2014 at 1:50 pm

The fine print says “offer good through 4/11/14 or while supplies last at all Publix locations”… so I’m skeptical about this. Like Jane said, just because it scans at the register doesn’t mean Walgreens will get reimbursed for it, and I don’t want to be fraudulent here.
Victor- Just because this site suggests to use it, doesn’t make something true. I’ve seen plenty of “coupon sites” that incorrectly stated you can use a certain coupons on invalid products. I work in retail, and we have been told that just because a coupon scans doesn’t mean they get reimbursement. The MFG goes by the fine print, not the register.

There’s is an awesome deal with these vendor coupons at publix Thru Wednesday 12pack 12oz boxes are on sale for buy two get one free, there is a $2.00 off 2 publix coupon in the current advantage buy flyer & throw in a $5.00 off $30.00 Winn Dixie coupon if your store takes them & you have an awesome coke deal using it at publix !!!

Reply

Lisa March 22, 2014 at 2:39 pm

Sometimes they say “redeem ONLY at” but this one doesn’t.

Reply

Brenda March 24, 2014 at 1:16 am

Using Jane’s logic, the coupons I printed are valid anywhere because they all say “redeemable at”. Double check the fine print.

can’t get zipcode to change & stick to get coupon:(

Make sure you change the state to match the zip code or it won’t work. HTH.

is coke $2/2 12 pk, only reseemable at Publix?
It prints with “Redeem at Publix”.

Bought 8 today and 1 triscuit since there was no sign for 2/$4. It said 3.99 so I thought I would be above $30 for happy cash deal and another 3,000 points. Total befor me coupons was $29.96. Ugh. $0.04 and I could have earned another 3,000 points an $5 happy cash. I assume there’s nothing I can do to fix this,or is there? I’m new to couponing so I expect some mistakes ha

I went and tried this deal and it was a no go for me. The manager said it’s a limit of 3 coke products… it does state that on the ad, so nothing for me

Reply

Marie March 23, 2014 at 1:43 pm

Ad states limit of 6 coke products but only one reward/3,000 points.

Reply

Anne March 22, 2014 at 10:33 pm

I did the deal as outlined exactly above and only got 3000 points. I am confused why that would be as the total was definitely over $30 ($15 x 2). Will contact Wags customer service and see if it was a register error. I purchased 8 cokes and two triscuits. I didn’t see a limit posted at my store but my eye sight is getting TERRIBLE to read those tiny signs.

Anne March 22, 2014 at 11:08 pm

Caution! The diet cherry coke is NOT included in the points deal oddly enough. Customer service would not correct the error on the phone this evening. Very frustrating. If u are planning on doing the coke deal I would avoid this particular product.

Mitchell @ Frugal Finders March 23, 2014 at 8:52 am

The ad states “3,000 points when you spend $15 OR MORE,” so if you purchase $30 worth of participating items, you’ll only get the 3,000 points once.

Looks like there is also a limit of (6) 12-packs, according to the ad.

Reply

Anne March 23, 2014 at 1:46 pm

My confusion comes from the scenario outlined above (whoops, it appears the third scenario was removed). Customer service said the sku for diet cherry coke was not included in the spend $15 get 3,000 pts deal. My bad. I wish that items included would be easily available to avoid mishaps.. No biggie. I will just return offending sodas. The limit of 6 sodas was not posted at my store that it was noticeable by me. I only followed that which was presented in the scenario yesterday. Could I ask where one finds the monthly deals on the walgreens website? I couldn’t find them for the life of me anywhere but on blog websites. Thanks for the help.

Was anyone able to use the $2.00 Coke coupons at Walgreens? My coupons printed with redeem at Publix on the left side under the picture and redeemable at Publix on the lower right corner. It also says offer good through 4/11/14 while supplies last at all Publix locations.
