Walgreens: Updates From the Field – Money Making Garnier, Rock On & More!

by Christie Bisbee on January 12, 2014

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 8.31.00 AMHere are some updates from my Walgreens shopping trip today to help you plan your shop and get the best deals. šŸ™‚

$5 POINTS DEAL: Awesome news. The $5 in points when you spend $25+ is working when you hit the $25 threshold before manufacturer’s coupons! Keep in mind Walgreens coupons will lower your amount but manufacturer’s coupons aren’t counting against the $25. This is super news and so we have some really fabulous deals we can grab. This is good thru 1/14 only so you’ll want to plan to do your shopping no later than Tuesday.

I was able to do this twice so it is working for more than one transaction. If anyone does it more than twice let us know if it works for you.Ā I’ll be back with some great scenario ideas for you so you can take advantage of this great deal this week

GARNIER DEAL: We have a super HOT deal on Garnier this week at Walgreens. We have some very high value Garnier coupons, a points deal for $3 in points when you buy $15 + we have the $5 in points when you hit $25 BEFORE manufacturers coupons.

Put all that together and you can actually get 10 Garnier Shampoo, Conditioner or Treatments for FREE + a $1 Money Maker. Since there are so many Garnier products included you can mix and match products to hit your 10. The Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatments are actually ringing up $4 for the first one and $2 for the second one with your card. Here are a couple of deal ideas for you…

Screen Shot 2014-01-12 at 12.07.53 PMENERGYXCENTRIC & ROCK ON: Some stores did not get the Energyxcentric 8 Hours of Energy that are free after Register Rewards this week. If you don’t find it be sure to ask if they are providing a replacement product as some stores are substituting a Rock On Energy shot 6pk.

Be on the lookout for the Rock On Orange Octane Energy Shots. Some of you are finding these ringing up at $5.79 and producing the $8 Register Reward, so a $2.21 Money Maker, no coupon required. There’s no guarantee but it’s certainly worth doing a price check. The Berry flavor seems to be ringing up at the $8 price.

So how did your shop go? What great deals did you find? Let us know. šŸ™‚

I did do the $25 dollar/ 5000 points three times, but I did it at three different stores but on the same balance reward card. When I want more of the register rewards products than three , I go to other stores. We have four to visit. No problem anytime they scanned the coupon.

I did the bonus points 3 times right in a row at same register. No issues. Great deals to be had. Made 19500 points in all!

On the $25/5000 points deal, can I pay for part of the $25 with register rewards or is that excluded in the fine print “points not earned if store credit or redemption dollars used in transaction?”

Christie January 12, 2014 at 1:32 pm

You can pay with RR. Those are like MQs. šŸ™‚

Thanks for responding so quickly! How’d you know I was in Walgreens tiring to figure out my deals? Rock on orange shots deal works in Atlanta.

Has anybody try the energy shoots in northern Ca?

campanita January 14, 2014 at 2:00 am

Today I found 2 at my store for $5.99 each and they produced the $8 RR, I am in So. California.

How did you earn 6,000 points when the deal is 3,000 for $15 or more in Garnier products? Am I missing something?

Reply

Christie January 12, 2014 at 3:38 pm

The deal is on $15. So you are doing $15 x 2 = $30. So instead of $3 in points you’ll get $6 in points. šŸ™‚

Got it! Thanks so much.

Please remind me what (ets) means? Also, are you saying buy $30 in one transaction or buy $15 each in two transactions? Thank you!

My paper did not have a Garnier $2 off coupon for a hair “product” there was a $2 of Shampoo/Conditioner and $2 off hair treatment. Could I just use 8 of the Shampoo and conditioner coupons and two of the treatment coupons or is their a limit that on like coupons that I am unaware of? Also it looks like they are out of prints for the online garnier coupons

So are the Rock On Energy shot 6pk automatically printing the 8 RR? Curious if I should just look for that tomorrow.

Reply

Tami January 12, 2014 at 10:21 pm

Yes, they automatically print the $8 RRs. Price rings up at $8.

Did anyone have luck finding the EnergyXCentric capsules or did none of the Wags stores get these?

Im scared to do the rock on deal. I’ve asked the so called “managers” at a few stores and they had no idea what I was talkin about lol there excuse was that every store is different. :/

Just give it a try. If it doesn’t work, just return it. No biggie. Also, my store actually had a little sign posted next to the energy shots that said they were the substitution product because they did not get the other in.

I found 2 of the the Rock On Orange Octane Energy Shots at $5.79 at my first store at around 9:45pm EST and both produced the $8RR. Around 11:30pm I was at the 24 hour store, found another 2 Rock On Orange Shots but that time they rung for $8 and produced the $8RR. I don’t know if it was already corrected or what but I am lucky I found some.

Today I went to one Walgreens and bought the slim fit and the estroven, then I went to another Walgreens to do the same thing and the RR didn’t print for the slim fit so I didn’t get the estroven ( I used the estroven RR to buy the slim fit). Then I noticed the sale tag said “one per customer” yet I bought a slim fit yesterday and got the RR. Has anybody experienced this also? I’m wondering if they changed the system to one per day or if their Catalina machine didn’t work.

I did the Garnier $30 deal and only received the 3000 points not 6000. Do I need to call?

Reply

melissa January 13, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Think only get 3,000 cuz it says 15+

Anna January 13, 2014 at 2:24 pm

I did this deal yesterday in 1 transaction and got 5000 and 6000 points. Hope this helps.

Hi Christie! Thanks for sharing your great deals with us! I really, really miss the Rock On Energy Shots that Walgreens used to sell. The grape were my all-time favorite. I don’t think they are being manufactured anymore. Do you have another brand you are now using? I work 2 jobs and they truly helped me get thru my daz and nights! Please respond. Thank you.
P.S. It looks like you have 3 children, I know energy shots give you the strenght to get through your life!
