Saturday ONLY! Great Double Dipping Deals!

by Christie Bisbee on August 31, 2013

Screen Shot 2013-08-31 at 12.38.59 PMIf you go shopping at Walgreens on a Saturday evening (the end of the Walgreens month) which happens to be the actual end of the month this August, you can likely double dip on this month’s or this week’s sale and next month’s or next week’s sale, giving you a better deal!  This can sometimes be accomplished on any Saturday evening with just weekly sales, but I find the best deals happen at the end/beginning of the month.

Please be aware that stores turn on their prices for the next week at various times, and I know one store manager told me they were not turning them on anymore, so if you know you’re stores schedule, you can try these deals that worked for me today already at a store that turns on next week’s prices unusually early.  Try price checking an item first before you fill your cart!  Unfortunately there is no way to know if a points deal will double dip until after you pay for the items, so try these at your own risk.  However these all did work for me this morning!

I have been searching frantically for the deodorant coupons. I dont seem to have them, wonder if it was regional? Im in Oklahoma. boo! Does the insert have a bottle of scope on the front?

Reply

Missina August 31, 2013 at 3:15 pm

Yes the insert with the deodorant has the scope on the front of it

I have read that got2be is double dipping too so if you got the regional $2 coupon you can get 2 for free.

The new coated ones are $3.99=1,000 points this week and $3.99=1,000 points next week also. I’m really hoping for a double dip on this.
we can ALWAYS use advil:)

A good way to check if your stores double dip deals work is by looking up the deal using web pickup. It will tell u the points the you will recieve. You can always do web pickup and pick up a different day as well.

Well Beginnings (Wags brand) diapers/training pants are $2/11. TODAY that sale is overlapping with the 8/25 sale of BOGO 50% off when you shop online!

2 packs of diapers = $8.25 ($4.12 each!!)
Free shipping on orders of $25+
(Only able to order two packs of the same size, so I purchased a variety of sizes).

GREAT DEAL! I LOVE WAGS DIAPERS!

*Plus: Ebates is offering 4% cash back on Walgreens.com

Hooray!!!

I’m sorry, but I think this type of post is on the unethical side. These are not deals; these are glitches. If someone does not get the “double dip,” do you think the manager would make it right? No, because they are glitches. What’s next? Finding out a coupon for product X also works on product Y if you can sneak it past the cashier? What a deal.

I’ve been TOLD by the manager of my store that the double dips for certain products. They are wanting us to come. Granted maybe some people aren’t honest about all areas of couponing, but this post is NOT unethical. Are you telling me that corp doesn’t know what they are doing?

Of course, you are within your rights to your opinion. And so are we. This isn’t a glitch. They’ve been doing this for months now. By the way, CVS has been doing this for years, turning the deals early on Saturday. Glitches are usually fixed promptly. This seems to indicate that this their new procedure.

Lastly, I’d like to defend Christie and her site. She does an awful lot of work, and in the 3 years that I’ve been following her, she’s never once encouraged someone to do something unethical. She has helped so many families. She’s above that.

Lexi – The stores have been turning on the Sunday ad on Saturday night for quite a long time. It’s not a glitch it’s just the way they do it. Maybe they decided to do it to be competitive with CVS.

I often pass on posting things that I see other bloggers post that I feel are unethical, because being an ethical and responsible couponer is important to me. This however is not one of those situations. Of course, you are free to your opinion. 🙂

I do not think these are glitches, it only happens if the store activates Sunday’s ad early, sometimes they do not even know if the prices have already changed. Today I bought 2 Lysol wipes and got the 1000 points that are advertised for tomorrow and it was 11:00 am, my store usually changes the prices at 4:00 pm but also the eggs were ringing for $.99 , I totally forgot to check on the Got2be products. I might go later to check it out.
Christie thank you for all you do and by the way you are one of the most ethical couponers that I know 🙂

I have been couponing for 10 years . I was doing Walgreens when then had rebates, double dipping has been around for a long time and it is not unethical. Christie keep up the good work, I have been following you from the beginning!

I work at a Walgreens that is not open 24 hours. When it’s the end of the month we have to take down ALL the weekly and monthly sales tags and start putting up the new monthly and weekly sales tags on Saturday afternoon. As soon as we start putting them up the new sale has to be activated in the computer because the sale price tags are in place. Otherwise, we would be doing price adjustments at the registers all night long because the customer would say ” the tag says this item is on sale”. I hope I’m making sense. Each dept. has at least a 6″ stack of new sales tags (there are 8 tags on each sheet) to put up at the end of the month on Saturday and usually do not finish until Sunday late morning (again we are not open 24 hrs so we can not finish on Saturday night). So whatever the computer give you in points or anything else it is not unethical. There’s no other way around it.

Walgreen’s did not become the giant they are because of errors and glitches. It happens several times a year, and I believe they are well award of what they are doing. There is nothing unethical about it. It’s a marketing ploy.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion if you think Walgreens double dip is unethical by all means don’t do the deal. If you are at all offended by Christie’s post informing us about these deals by all means scroll past this post. We will all participate in double dip Saturdays while you make your purchases the day after. Thanks Christie for keeping us updated on the double dip deals.

Totally confused. I did 3 transactions. 4 dove deoderant & 2 degree with 4 $3 coupons with the first 2 transactions. 1st transaction I got (1000, 4000. 6000) a total of 1100 points which seems right, but the next transaction only gave me 6000 points. The 3rd transaction I got 4 men’s & 4 womens dove deoderant & 2 degree with 4 $3 coupons and got (6000. 8000) a total of 1400 points. I did get a lot of deoderant, but I did not clear the shelves there was still a ton of the deoderants.

Tampax Radiant tampons were also a double dip. Went to the store and they were on sale for $3.99 (through 9/28). The BOGO 50% off was also good so they rang up at 6.96, used 2 of my $2/1 coupons, and paid $1.98 total. Very excited about that!! I only wish I had more coupons!
