Walgreens: Updates from the Field 6/16

by Christie Bisbee on June 16, 2013

Butterball TurkeyHope you all had a great Father’s Day! 🙂 Here’s some updates from my trip that hopefully will make your trip go a little easier.

BUTTERBALL TURKEY BACON DEAL: So for whatever reason, the Butterball Turkey coupon kept causing other coupons in my transaction to kick out. It was the weirdest thing! However, when I bought the Turkey Bacon by itself it wrang up just fine and the $1/1 coupon worked with no issues. The Butterball Refrigerated Item printable isn’t available anymore but there’s still a coupon you can use in the May and June issue of ALL YOU.

XtremeRIGHT GUARD DEAL: All the Right Xtreme varieties were included in the sale price so I was able to grab two for  just 49¢ each! Plus some of them had peelies that you can use at another time, since the $2 coupon is the better deal.

Walgreens Deals (thru 6/22)
Right Guard or Dry Idea AP/Deo. 2.6 to 4 oz B1G1 FREE $4.49
$2/1 Right Guard Xtreme or (RP 06/16/13)
= JUST 24¢ EACH

REACH DEAL: The Reach coupons both beeped for me. I think they may just be coded wrong because they are clearly for the right product. I was nice enough to have a manager who put them in manually but they were a real pain, so heads up! I hope they get them straightened out soon.

I was happy to say I found all the freebies in stock and had no issues with any other coupons but the Reach and Butterball made me batty until we figured out what the deal was!

Find any great deals? How did your shop go? Let us know! 🙂

Great trip. It’s been so long since they had good deals. Got the Reach (beeped but manually put in), Fiber, H Cream, and Stomach relief. Then used the RR to get the Finish dishwashing tabs. 🙂

Thanks for letting us know about the Right Guard deal. I missed that today, but I’ll be sure to go back! Yes, the Reach coupons beeped for me, too (but were put in manually).

Buy 2 Johnson & Johnson Red Cross All-Purpose First Aid Kit,140 ct, $13.99 each (if included in sale which I think it should be?)
Minus the buy 1 get 1 50% off sale = $20.99
Use the $1/2 Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Brand Product coupon found in the 6/9 SS or here
Plus, use the $5/1 Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit 140 pieces Walgreens coupon found in the June Coupon Booklet (will deduct $10)
Final cost only $9.99 for 2 First Aid kits, just $5 per 140-piece kit + a FREE First Aid Case! Awesome deal considering that each kit normally retails for $13.99!

wondering if anyone saw this deal and if it worked?

I did this too Marissa! Except in an older first aid kit from this last holiday season there were $2 off any J&J Red Cross Brand- and i had two of them! SO it was about $6 or $3 each! WHoop!

Did your kits ring up at BOGO or did it have to be adjusted?

did they manually have to make it B1G50% off because my store didn’t have signs for it and one store i went to said they wouldn’t do it. Wondering if is should try another. thanks!

I didn’t try getting two b/c the store only had one…but the tag also did not say B1GO 50% off either. Also, the $1/2 coupon clearly states it is not for the First Aid Kits….just a heads up! =)

The $1/2 coupons available online or 6/9 SS say that they exclude first aid kits

I found a booklet that said FIRST AID, and it had a $1 coupon for any Johnson and Johnson product – no exclusion. It was in a container in the first aid section. It had a lot of great coupons. I just wasn’t able to get the kits for BOGO.

My reach coupons all wouldn’t ring through correctly either, everyone had to be manually entered, only one walgreens I went to had issues doing it but one cashier out of like 7 is a pretty good percentage. I rolled the kios, reach, colgate, and smart fiber RRs and used the purex as filler items… over all awesome day with the exception of the shelf clearing lady I hate.

I got the same right guard from cvs that had the same peelies and used them then and got them for free. They look to be like the same peelies I found on the ones at cvs anyways. I figured since it said save instantly and it worked.

My Sunday couponing went pretty smooth.
I was able to find a couple of the freebies and good deal items.
I did also catch a known “shelf clearer” in action hiding some of the Kios.
I waited for her to walk away, and then put them back on shelf.
She must have took 15 boxes and moved them behind the adult under garments.
I guess the money making aspect, makes people crazy….
Oh we’ll, sure she will be surprised to see someone caught on…..lol

Haha that’s awesome. Whenever I’m looking for something I always look around the area. I can usually always find a bunch hidden…

Does Walgreens allow the use of a coupon on a free item, like the Right Guard?

I went to Wags yesterday and tried to use 2 q’s for the right guard….they had to put them in manually and one went through and the other would not. She then read the coupon and it says “one coupon per purchase on product featured”. It would not take the second coupon. I was not happy…ugh!

The Reach coupons beeped for me so the cashier asked the assistant manager on duty about the coupons. The manager came over and told me that the coupons were fraudulent and refused my Colgate coupons without even scanning them. She said that she knew they were fraudulent due to the address that was listed for the redemption center. It was an awful experience.
