Walgreens: Updates From the Field Week of 7/29

by Christie Bisbee on July 30, 2012

Here are some updates from my shopping trip to Walgreens this week!

HUGGIES SLIP-ONS DEAL
I was so super excited to find that not only does the $4 Huggies coupon work on the jumbo packs but they were even signs up at my store! That means these are just $3.49 each after coupons. They had sizes 3, 4 and 5 at my store. Even if you don’t see signs, be sure to do a price check.

Walgreens Deals
Buy (1) Walgreens Slip On Diapers $9.49
$2/1 Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers (SS 07/08/12)
$4/1 Huggies Little Movers Slip-On (Walgreens Coupons, August)
Total = $3.49 EACH!

CORTAID DEAL
I was happy to see the Cortaid well stocked for the Mail In Rebate deal at my store. Remember we have a mail in rebate on these that makes them free. Also, if you select to get the rebate on a Walgreens gift card you’ll get an additional 10% back, making it a small money maker too! You’ll find the rebate form in the August Coupon Book.

Back when we had the Cortaid manufacturer rebate last year I learned directly from the manufacturer that the .5oz Cortaid (which is the size for this deal) is considered trial size. I don’t know of any coupons for this that don’t exclude trial size but I’m still thrilled to grab these free!

UNIBALL PENS
I looked all over the store for the Uniball pens but I think my store didn’t get them in, so no luck there for me!

SMART RINSE DEAL
Some lucky shoppers were getting a $2 Smart Rinse catalina coupon printing when they bought the Smart Rinse, so if you did this deal, be sure to check any Catalinas that may have printed! Remember, these are only $0.99 after the coupon and if you are one of the lucky ones who gets the coupon after your first purchase, it’ll be free!

Buy (1) Listerine Smart Rinse or Reach Kids Toothbrush $2.99
$1/1 Listerine Smart Rinse Rinse 500ml or any (1) Reach Kids Toothbrush
Total = $1.99, Get Back $1 Register Reward
= $.99 EACH! (& if you get the $2 Smart Rinse coupon catalina your next one is free!)

DAWN HAND SOAP
The Dawn with Olay is included in the $0.99 sale at Walgreens this week. It’s my favorite Dawn and it’s sometimes not included so if you are a fan of this product too, it’s a good week to get it.

Buy (1) Dawn Hand Soap with Olay $0.99
$0.50/1 Dawn Product, exp. 8/31/12 (P&G 07/29/12)
Total = $0.49

So what great deals did you find? How was your trip? Let us know! :)

the $2 catalina for smart rinse i got is for 2 smart rinses, not one.

me too. Christie, i too got a catalina (says manufacturer coupon) but it’s 2.00 off 2 smart rinses. So wouldn’t that mean
2 x2.99 – 2 catalina = 3.98 total and only 1 RR

i sure wish i got a 2.00 off 1 catalina…not in Fort Worth, TX

I printed a coupon off of SS for $1 off ANY Cortaid product. No size restrictions anywhere. Coupon did not beep when I used it.

I had the same coupon…I swear I looked over it 10 times to make sure it didn’t say trial size & it worked w/no beeps as well. I must have printed it off smartsource awhile ago, because it expires tomorrow!

I couldn’t find the uniball pens either.

I found the uniball pens in the regular stationary isle. However, my store does not have a back to school area set up yet. There was not a sign, but they rang up at the .99. I only had 2 coupons, but wish I had a bunch more because these are my favorite pens!

I went to two Walgreen stores, at one of them, the Uniball pens were marked at $0.99 (with the weekly tags), at the other store, they were not marked but they rang up for $0.99. They are awesome pens! I had a few coupons, but even without the coupons, $0.99 is a great price for these.

You can find the Uniball pens in the back to school area or the stationary aisle. At my store, there were regularly priced. I asked an employee to check the price for me and she said they were 99 cents each.

Pens at my store were not marked either, love those price checker machines, I spent .94 cents today and saved $35.38. Used my Nivea rewards from last week, but bad on me, if I had my coupon for lipton tea with me, $1.00 off/2, it would have been -0- oop. I hate that :/

GREAT price on the diapers! If you have an AARP, make sure you use it. Spend $20, earn $5 cat. I’m not 100% sure, but I think if you plan on just getting the diapers, you have to spend $20 before mfr coupons, but after WAGS coupons. So you’d have to purchase 4 packs of diapers ($21.96 after WAGS coupon), and $13.96 after mfr cpns. So you’d actually end up paying only $8.96 after cat—only $2.24 per pack of diapers—WOO HOO!!!

Surprised to see lots of folks stocking up on Suave products at Walgreens. I think the better deal would be to use the .75/deodorant coupons at Walmart, where it is only 97 cents. Save the other Suave coupons for another deal. I too am thrilled with the Olay Dawn–best stuff ever.

Oh where do I start with these cheap Uniball pens! I had two coupons and went to my Wags to get two packs of pens. I had my 2 year old with me and just wanted to pop in and out. As I was looking around for these pens, I ran across this other lady with a stack of coupons. I stated up a small conversation with this lady who’s name happened to be Sherry and she said that she follows this site, which brought me to the site as of today. I was telling her about the pen deal I wanted to do and she moved aside so I could see her cart and there were about 6 boxes of pens. I’m not kidding, if I would have taken a picture, I would have. I then asked where the pens were located and she said “they are all in my cart, you should have beat me to it”, and laughed as she walked away. I was shocked! There was none left of the shelf so I went back to her and asked if she could let me have just two packs, she said “oh I’m sorry, I can’t because I need them.” There were 10 packs of pens to one box. I was so mad I just left. I always pictured couponers as very friendly and courteous, but Sherry was the complete opposite. I asked if there was any in back or when they would be getting more in but to no luck. The manager did give me a rain check, which I never though of asking for. So now when I go to my Wags and everything is gone, I’ll know that Sherry beat me to it. What a shame. I guess the only good that came of this was 1- Rain check and 2- I found a new blog to flow, so thanks for that!

oops i didn’t know that .5oz Cortaid is trial size. I used the $1/1 coupon, but I forgot to look if it says excluding trial size. The coupon did not beep and I already submitted the rebate. I just hope it did not have the size restriction. My walgreens have tons of uniball pens, but I didn’t print out any coupons. They have about 60 pens and the signs were up.

I bought diapers, great deal this week, and when I bought them it printed a 2.00 and then a 1.50 off of any size pull ups. Great!
