Walgreens: Updates From the Field 7/1

by Christie Bisbee on July 1, 2012

Here are some updates from my Walgreens trip today.

MITCHUM DEAL: The Mitchum deal worked just fine for me today. I was also able to buy the Mitchum with the 25% extra bonus and they rang up the correct price and produced the Register Reward! So if you find the ones with the 25% FREE you can…

Walgreens Deal
Buy (2) Mitchum Bonus with 25% more FREE 2/$6
(2) $1/1 Mitchum or Mitchum for Women Product printable
or (SS 06/24/12)
Total = $4, Get Back $4 RR
= FREE!

HERSHEY’S SIMPLE PLEASURES: The Hershey’s coupon in the July book wouldn’t scan even though it was the right product at the right price. So if you are doing this deal, they may have to adjust the price manually until the coupon is fixed or programmed into the computers.

SCHICK HYDRO DEAL: I had no problem with the Schick Hydro deal. I know that last week the Schick Hydro wasn’t included in the deal for Schick but I had not issues this week. I was able to buy (2) and get the $10 Register Reward, so my deal looked like this…

Walgreens Deal
Buy (2) Schick Hydro 5 Razor $10.99
Total = $21.98
(2) $4/1 Schick Hydro Various , exp. 7/22/12 (SS 06/10/12)
Total = $13.98, Get Back $10 RR
= $1.99 EACH

BUTTERBALL TURKEY BACON: My store didn’t get this in, so I’m hoping to have better luck at a different store tomorrow. Aside from the lack of Turkey Bacon, it was a pretty good shopping day!

How did your shop go? Find any great deals? Let us know! 🙂

I was just coming to say the same thing! 🙂

The Clinical Mitchum qualifies for the 2/$6 sale price, and the $4 Register Reward prints too!

My Walgreens ran out of the bacon too, but there was a little note on the price tag saying that there is a sale on it this week, and it will take awhile for them to restock them, we will be able to get rain checks for as much as we want 😀

Mitchum: The shelf is tagged 2/$7 or $3.99 each, but the ad reads 2/$6 w/$4 RR.
I was there this morning and took the ad to the register just in case, but it did ring up correctly.

I went to 2 different Wags today, specifically for the Turkey Bacon, and both were OOS. 1 store said they hadn’t gotten a shipment in since the last in-ad coupon! Also couldn’t do the Kellogg’s deal. I wanted 2 Nutragrain & 1 Fiber Plus bars, but were OOS as well at both stores.

Niki July 1, 2012 at 10:03 pm

Mine was OOS on turkey bacon, nabisco, and several other things. Looks like someone wiped the shelves in buying sprees…..unfortunately I know that they just never got any of those things in. Don’t like the 2 week sales. We have items on the 1st day and never again during the 2 week sale. Not a lot of items either, there were only 8 (total) of the suave shampoo/conditioner on the 1st day. Never got them back.

I actually havne’t been yet, ever since vacation i have had a hard time getting back in the groove. BUT my grocery store had the turkey bacon on sale for 1.00 last week, I figured it would be hit or miss at Wags this week so I got it there 🙂

The store I visited today had their fresh eggs on sale 2/$1 and I was able to get the Turkey Bacon for .44 cents after using the .55 coupon in the 6/24 SS. They manually adjusted the $1.50/1 coupon for the Hershey Simple Pleasure bags and I also got 2 Mitchum deodorant for Women.
It turned out to be a very nice trip!! 🙂

Did anyone get the soft soap? The Walgreens that I went to had it for 2 for $4.00??!

Lindsay S. July 1, 2012 at 10:22 pm

I got 2 of the Mitchum deodorants for free with no problems there. I also picked up some of the Almay that was on clearance with the $1/1 coupons available earlier – unfortunately they were not included in the B1G1 50% off sale, but still a great deal. The last thing I got was the Tampax radiant liners and pads – I was sad to find that my store didn’t have those awesome free bags on any kind of display. Oh well…overall had a great trip to Wags today!

My wags had a sign up on the hhuggies soft care baby wipes #56 count packs stating sale price 1.99 less $1 off store coupon (july book) = 99 cents. Coupon worked fine so that is like 1 cent per wipe. Gonna check my binder for huggies wipes q’s to stack, but that’s already a stock up price for me!

Did anyone else notice that the RR for the Walgreens Razors have a longer expiration date and say “store coupon”. Does this mean that it is stackable with other coupons?

My store did not have the turkey bacon and the mitchum was about half wiped out. There was only the gel or roll on left in both men and womens, I was hoping to get the solids. I got three of the scrubbing bubbles with fantastik for 2.99 each and used two $1 coupons and got my RR just fine. My wags also had some dog vitamins and supplements on clearance for 1.69! I’m in yakima washington.

I ended up doing this:

3 12-packs of Pepsi products for $10.92 get a free 128pack of diet Pepsi with in-ad coupon. I used four $1.00 off manufacturers coupons from http://www.commonkindness.com.

2 Mitchum deoderants. I used two $1.00 off coupons.

I also bought one Nice! Gelatin as a filler for $0.25.

Used $10 RR from last week. Paid $1.17 before tax and received $4 RR

All of my Mitchum coupons beeped. I had two from the inserts and two printed. I was buying the men’s Mitchum regular size. They rang up the correct price and I got my register reward. The cashier manually put the two coupons from the insert through for me.

Reply

Jan July 2, 2012 at 11:37 am

Yeah, mine all had to be put in manually too. I had the ones printed off the internet. My first transaction printed my register rewards out fine, but my second transaction didn’t print them out. I had to get the cashier to do it since it should have printed when I paid.

So, I found a super deal on the scrubbing bubbles one step toilet bowl cleaner. I found the box with the yellow side that says “refill and free holder” they were labeled $6.99 and included in the RR deal from SC Johnson. However, these rang up for $3.99 each and I had $3.00 off coupons left from the last time I bought these. So I bought:
3 boxes scrubbing bubbles one step toilet bowl cleaner (has to be the box with yellow on the right side) 3x$3.99=$11.97
use (3) $3.00 off SB one step toilet bowl cleaner starter kit.
total $2.97 get back $2.00 RR makes it only $0.97 for 3 boxes!!!!!!! This is a super deal because the refills are $3.99 each.
and to make this deal even better, every box I have bought has coupons in it. (2) of the $3.00 off one step cleaner starter kit and one b1g1 free refills. so if you don’t have these coupons, just get them out of the box before you pay!!!!
I am located in Arkansas so I am not sure if this deal will work in other places, just have them price check the box to see if it rings for $3.99. Hope this is helpful to everyone, we all need toilet bowl cleaner, right!!!

Anyone know if the Simple Pleasures (Hershey’s) are available nationally or are they regional? My store did not have them, nor a space for them and even the clerk looked for them with me saying “I don’t think we carry that”.

Did get my 2 deodorants, 4 Pepsi 12 pack but only could use 2 Pepsi coupons as we dont have PepsiMax in 12 pack.
Thanks!

Anyone know If the mitchum deal is rolling?

Ann July 5, 2012 at 1:49 am

When I used the Pepsi MQs, I discovered one doesn’t have to buy the soda on the Q label. Evidently, one only needs to purchase a Pepsi product. I discovered this on accident. I probably would have only purchased reg. Pepsi and not Pepsi Max (extra caffeine/diet) had I known. Just an FYI. Technically, I would probably have felt bad not getting what the manufacturer had intended. But why make the Q that way in the first place??? Don’t know….

Every time I try to put the zip code in to get the Mitchum printable on coupons.com it reroutes me back to my actual zip code. Any suggestions would be awesome!
