Walgreens Gillette Razors & Cartridges Deal

by Christie Bisbee on June 26, 2012

After some trial and error, here are two products that will work for the Gillette deal at Walgreens this week. You can get the Gillette Fusion Razor, and the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Cartridges and the $10 Register Reward will print.

But if you try to get the matching sets (ProGlide Cartridges and ProGlide Razor OR Plain Fusion Cartriges and Plain Fusion Razor) it won’t. Don’t ask me who comes up with what is or isn’t included or why! If you do this combination, you’ll get a great deal on these and my hubby tells me you can use these refills with this razor so no worries there. Gillette razors are SO expensive these days, and the cartridge prices are crazy! (Are they making them out of platinum or something?!) So I think getting them for about 72% off is a good deal.

Walgreens Deal
Buy (1) Gillette Fusion Razor $10.99
(1) Gillette Fusion ProGlide 4ct Cartridges $17.99
Total = $27.99
FREE Gillette Razor wyb Fusion Cartridge (P&G 06/03/12)
Total = $17.99, Get Back $10 Register Reward
= $4 EACH

If use 3 off coupon in ss 6/17 you get better deal just 2.50 each

I know coupons can vary from region to region, but my $3 off coupon from SS 6/17 says buy one proglide cartridge get $3 off one proglide razor. You can’t use this with the BOGO coupon, can you? Also, if the RR only prints out with the plain fusion razor, this wouldn’t work. Is there something I’m missing?

Both coupons are for the razor, so you can’t get it free AND save $3.

For a deal like this – the B1G1 Free coupon is attaching to both items so you only use that ONE coupon (like I wrote in my scenario above).

If the store had a sale that was B1G1 free that would be different. Then you could use (2) $3 coupons OR the B1G1 Free.

I use both coupon and work my deal was nice Because they put high price in my free razor 13.99 but the price of the razor it’s 10.99 so I use the 3 dollar coupon I just pay 1 dollar ++ taxxx lovedddd

I still can’t figure out how you were allowed to use both coupons-I doubt most clerks would let it go through since like Mel said, the coupons were for a free razor and then $3 off the razor when you buy the blades. You shouldn’t be able to get another $3 off the razor you already got for free. I think you lucked out but most people would not be able to get this deal.

Just use one or the other – obviously the B1G1 is the better deal – so you only use ONE coupon on this deal, not both.

Thanks for clearing that up Christie!

Thank you so much for this great offer notification!! We go thru these cartridges like candy, and I hate buying these at full price…..best offer this month, in my book!!! 🙂

I went to my local Walgreens and they were out of the 4ct cartridge, so I tray the 8ct cartridge and BINGO it works!!! And it was better, because the FREE Gillette Razor wyb Fusion Cartridge (P&G 06/03/12) coupon discount the 8ct cartridge, so I paid for the razor and have a $10 RR. Paid $14.79 with tax for both minus the RR it was like if I paid $4.79. Super happy!! 🙂

I was able to do it twice with matching products. I also used the buy 1 cartridge get razor free but each time it took off the cartridges even though they are much more expensive and even exceeded the coupon max value however neither cashier said anything about it.

If that happens just let them know to enter the coupon manually for the razor.

Mine was $10.99, but whatever amount the razors are at your store, as long as they are less than $13.99 they can enter that amount manually. I doubt that they would ring up more than $13.99 but if they did, then the cashier just enters $13.99.

I was at Walgreens wanting to do the deal on the fusion and it did not work. But the lady in front of me bought the proglide razor, bonus kit which was $9.99 and bought the 4ct proglide blades $17.99 and when the system scanned her coupon it gave her $17.99 off. So the computer gave her the cartridges free. Not sure if it was a glitche in the system or what.

Same thing happened to me today. Register took off $17.99

I tried this deal on Monday. It didn’t work with same like product. The clerk (who is a coupon er) and I figured out it had to be the proglide cartridges. The manager refunded that transaction and I then bought fusion razor with proglide cartridge. Later I looked at my original receipt and it showed my coupon took off cartridge price(incorrect) but in my second transaction it took the razor price off (correct).

If the stores have the new registers(pretty touch screen ones) the Gillete BOGO coupon takes off over the limit amount. (At my store it takes off 18.99 even though the limit on the coupon say 13.99) I just manually put the BOGO coupon in at the end. Because it is over the amount of the coupon AND over the amount of the razor that is a LOSS PREVENTION issue. I would rather not lose my job so i do it manually.

Exactly right! Sounds like the new registers have some kind of glitch. The store I bought these at has old registers (not getting new ones till Sept.) but if that happens – you can just enter in manually. The razor (at my store was $10.99) so that was what was taken off.

me too. when i scanned it 17.99 came off. i doubled checked the coupon and voided the 17.99 and took off the correct amount. i would like to keep my job.

Anymore updates on whether others were able to get the cartridges free using the coupon? I’m just hoping the glitch is still on their system by the time I can make it to the store! lol

Christie June 27, 2012 at 2:48 pm

Sounds like a glitch. If it scans that way, just tell the cashier to enter it manually for the price of the razor – up to a max of $13.99. These are priced about $10.99 in my area.

So if you aren’t telling the clerk to fix this error and you allow the q to take off more than the cost of the razor just because their is a fluke error in their system, it’s misuse of the coupon and fraudulent coupon use. That bogo q has a max value of $13.99 and their system is taking off $15.99 or higher depending on the cartridge size etc. so your store will not be reimbursed for anything over the razor price of either $9.99 or $10.99. Just saying….it’s best to be honest about this with the cashier upfront….otherwise it’s these kinds of problems that will cause more restrictions at stores and with the manufacturers to scale back on allowing us to get these great deals. Just my .02.

These are such a great deal, and we want to encourage more great deals. So yes, if we run into a glitch just alert the cashier. Cashiers can just fix it and if they don’t catch it just let them know. Plus think of how appreciative the cashier will be! 🙂

So, I for one am VERY happy to get the FREE $10.99 razor and the $10 Register Reward!

i actually had a friend who was fired last year over something like this. the coupon scanned but it was for a different product. the lady bought toothpaste and gave her a whitestrip coupon for 7.00 off. the cashier didn’t notice and it scanned like normal.

I did this deal yesterday in Florida with matching razor and cartridge and it worked fine. My coupon also immediately took off the price of the cartridge but my cashier was able to adjust it. I wonder if it’s possible that there is a glitch in the coupon barcode and not in Walgreens computer system that is deducting the wrong price. If so, I would hope Walgreens wouldn’t be penalized for that mistake.

I wish I knew this last night…..ugggh they were horrible at my wag!!!! they told me it would not print as I used a RR to pay for part of the cost.

It seems to be a glitch in the system not the coupons. I have had the new registers at my store for almost 2 months. When there is a coupon for a free item it would either:
1) take off the right price of the free item
or
2) go over the cost of the item and put in the max amount.

So far i have only seen 2) on P&G coupons the gillete razor coupons and pantene BOGO coupon

At the beginning of the month the starbucks refreshers came up right and those new granola health bars (good & naturla i think?). Other then that i haven’t really seen any bogo coupons
