Updates From the Field 7/3

by Christie Bisbee on July 3, 2011

Here are some updates from my trip to hopefully help your trip go a little easier!

FIBER ONE DEAL
If you do the Fiber One deal, look for the box with an extra bar inside!

Get a $2 RR WYB (4) Fiber One Chewy Bars, 90 Calorie Chewy Bars or 90 Calorie Brownies 2/$5 (*thru 7/10 NOT advertised!)
-$0.40/1 Fiber One 90 Calorie Chewy Bars OR Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies
-$1/2 ; $.50/2 Fiber One Chewy Bars or 90 Calorie Chewy Bars, any โ€“ 05-22-11 SS x7/16
= AS LOW AS $1.50 EACH WYB 4

Plus – Checkout the (3) Catalinas that reader Cara got when she did the Fiber One deal this morning and used her debit card. There is no guarantee that you’ll get the same but like I have said in previous posts, using a debit card seems to result in more Catalinas printing based on your purchasing history.
(2) – $1/1 Reach Floss, any
(1) – $3/1 Pampers Easy Ups Training Pads

(Thanks so much Cara for the picture & the head up!)

EXTENZE DEAL
If you are wondering – the Extenze is found near the family planning area – over by the pregnancy tests & K-Y. I didn’t buy it so I’m not sure if it prints as a $5 or a $4.99 Register Reward so if you happen to buy it, let us know!

ORAL-B DEAL REGISTER REWARD
If you happen to use the Oral-B Register Reward to pay for another Oral-B, Crest or Floss, right now, it’ll print another Register Reward. So yep, that one is rolling.

BENGAY DEAL
The Bengay Cold Therapy is also included in the B1G1 50% OFF Deal, you can use the $5/1 coupon on this one or use the $3/1 on the regular 20z Bengay.

Bengay Cold Therapy $10.99 B1G1 50% OFF
(2) -$5/1 Bengay Cold Therapy Product, Any PRINT
= $3.24 EACH

Bengay 2oz Ultra Strength B1G1 50 % off $5.99
-$3/1 Bengay Product, any (ets) โ€“ 06-19-11 RPย  or 05-22-11 RP
= $1.50 EACH

CLEARANCE
I found a whole bunch of clearance in my store today in the toy & summer/seasonal department.ย  So you might want to check that out for some good deals! I spotted stuff as low as 75% off!

Has anyone tried the Gillette $5 RR deal when you buy $20 or more but in combination with the Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor? I’m wondering if two $5 RR would generate; it seems I remember something like this happening a few weeks ago…. Thanks!

I’m wondering the same thing…. did anyone try this out by chance?

Reply

Ashleigh Harris July 4, 2011 at 1:48 am

I have heard that it does generate 2 RR.

Christina July 4, 2011 at 12:59 pm

I just tried this and it only printed one $5 RR for the Gillette Fusion ProGlide ๐Ÿ™

Be sure to check the 2-day sale on bottled water. Itโ€™s supposed to be for some generic water at $1.99/case. My store did not have the generic water and was substituting Daisani! Thatโ€™s a $4 savings because Daisani usually rings up at $5.99!

Bonnie, my store did the same thing! And the manager even put them in my shopping cart while he said he would substitute it no problem! I love Walgreens!

I have tried the generic water and it is pretty good. I think it was even spring water.

I had my husband buy the extenze and he got a $5 RR…I used it to pay for 3 waters ($1.99 each) & 1 tostitos (that was all they had left at 10am) I used a $.55 cpn from the walgreens cpns that were in the SS back in may. Then I went to another walgreens for more chips. The cpn took off $.55 off each bag.

I bought extenze and it printed a $5 RR. I found it on the top rack where they store extra items by the probiotics.

My walgreens is substituting mountain ice water for the generic. 24 + 4 bottles and I used a $1 cpn. 4 cases of water for $3.96 plus tax!! (I can’t remember what insert the coupon was in)

I know the ice mountain coupon you’re talking about, and it’s not for a $1 off one 24 pack. There were 2 or 3 in the insert I believe, none of which were for $1 off a 24 pack. One, if I remember, was $1 off a 24 pack when you buy a 12pack or $1 off 24pack of the 8oz sizes!

i was checking out the BOGO free for “move free” pills.

$29.99 each. then use the $5 coupon on each. brings it down to $19.99 for two 80 count boxes. then use a $5 RR from the gillette razor. $14.99 for 2 huge bottles is a great deal, but still a bit too pricy for me. hopefully someone else will benefit?

Does anyone know if the Gillette razor $5 RR can be rolled?

Reply

Ashleigh Harris July 4, 2011 at 1:51 am

I am not sure about this week, but they haven’t in the recent past.

Mark July 4, 2011 at 10:53 am

I dont think the $5 RR for Gilette are rolling….but…If you alternate buying a ProGlide ad th Extenze you can purchase them all day long for mere pennies. I used a $5 RR to purchase Extenze (and a cheap filler since the Extenze is less than the $5 RR)….then I used the $5 RR from extenze and a $4 off proglide coupon to purchase a proglide (and a cheap filler)….I paid $.34 for the extenze and a filler and $1.69 for the proglide and a filler.

That is really funny and a good idea. I’m just not sure if I can keep a straight face making that purchase!

We did great! Thanks so much for this blog. We got 5 of the toothbrushes that were unadvertised and you told us about. They were $1 and we had 75 cents off coupon. We would have never known that if it wasn’t for your blog.
We got $83 of items for $3.77 at the three Walgreens we pass on the way home from church!

I have not seen a post on this, but My P&G today had $3 off q’s for Aussie/herbal essences, they were on sale for $3 so I got them free. Had 2 coupons.

Reply

adam July 3, 2011 at 9:49 pm

those were $3 off any styler product WYB a different product….so supposed to be $3 off 2 items not 1…

Reply

Christian July 3, 2011 at 10:19 pm

the wording on the q was strange, but i understood it to mean that it was off 1. both coupons scanned with no issues. not trying to mislead anyone.

Reply

Kristen July 3, 2011 at 11:06 pm

The reason you haven’t seen any posts on it is because it’s not the correct coupon for a good deal. It’s $3 off 1 when you buy 2 not off 1 when you buy 1. P&G even had a post on this last week about how it was basically a B1G1 coupon. It doesn’t matter if it scanned or not it wasn’t the correct use of the coupon.

I did this too. Herbal Essence mousse was marked $3 so I bought 2 with $3 MQ’s so they were FREE! Purchased 5 FiberOne bars to get the max $3 catalina deal since it expires this week and my store had plenty in stock, yea. Love those bars! Also got the Peanut MM candy deal using the WagsQ for my hubby’s upcoming bday plus cheap water and razor, toothbrush and Always pads rr deals. I only did one transaction to save time so not my best day spending $30 but I got $73 in product and came home with $12 in RRs. I can live with that.

Nothing of interest for me this week. But I did go yesterday and hit the 75% off sale on summer stuff. I got 2 boxes of 10 Solar lights, 4 solar light spot lights and 2 cool glass ball solar lights for $19. Put them in today and they look so nice. I used up my RR’s and only paid $11.25 and that included a box of cereal.

I will be happy to start over when there is anything that I want or need. But now after doing this for about 4 months, it is doubtful. I have my H&B closet completely full and don’t need anything. Certainly not EXTENZE!!!!!

Not that I won’t go to my local Walgreens. I love that store. I just will be going for what I need and not another bottle of body wash! Oh and don’t get me wrong. I have stocked up on Joint Meds that I give to my 10 year old dog everyday. I am super thankful for that. What I am saying is that there is only so much soap, toothbrushes, deodorant, floss, picks, shampoo, hair accessories and body wash that one family could possibly use.

And, just to let you know, I have not been doing the same deals over and over. Just one a week and I have too much. Although at the beginning of my couponing, I did completely over buy Almay cosmetics and went to many stores just to get the deal. It was fun, but now I have a bunch of stuff I don’t need.

So for now, I am taking a break!

I’m in the same boat! One more toothbrush or body wash and I may find myself single again!

I have to wonder if the change in products, deals and coupons are in response to That TV Program that makes couponers look like criminals. The RR’s for nail fungus or ED products aren’t practical for the general shopper — so I have to question WAGs committment to their customers. Either they want us there, or they don’t.

Susan July 4, 2011 at 10:00 pm

I totally get your comment about one more toothbrush or bodywash!!! My DH would have a fit if I use more than that one closet. He loves the deals, but not on stuff we will never be able to use!

I think I would like to be called a Non Extreme Couponer who gets lots of great deals, but uses restraint! I think that most of us fit into this category. Maybe when it is brand new you overdue because it is exciting. But then reality kicks in and you back off a bit.

Maybe when more fairly new couponers hit the filled closet, they will slow down and things will get better!!!

I have to agree. Have been rolling RR for the last month or so. Let’s get some new deals going out there!

I bought 4 of the Nature Valley Granola Thins (with the chocolate on the bottom), used (4) .75 cent off coupons and the 2 RR printed.
4 Nature Valley Granola Thins 2/$5 = $10
-4 .75 = $7
And I got the $2 RR = $5 for 4 boxes!

Heather July 6, 2011 at 12:08 pm

Where are the .75 coupons for this. My family loves them.

Question for Cara on the Catalinas received for Reach Floss and Pampers. Did she purchase those in the transaction?

Trying to figure out if the extra Catalinas are printed for items we have in our basket.

Does the RR deal work in the 2 pack of Fiber One bars? Those sell for about a dollar in my store.

Cynthia July 5, 2011 at 9:08 am

I bought 4 boxes of the Fiber One bars and didn’t get the $2 RR. Is there anything I can do about it since it was unadvertised?

Reply

shelly July 5, 2011 at 1:06 pm

I asked one time about a RR that didn’t print, and the manager said because it wasn’t advertised he couldn’t do anything about it, so I just returned the items. Maybe if you have a nice manager they could try ringing up some Fiber bars that are a differnt flaver then the ones you bought. Hope that helps

Cynthia July 5, 2011 at 8:15 pm

Thanks for the tip–I guess I will ask for manager to try the different flavor trick. If that doesn’t work I will return them. Thanks again!!

Christie, do more Catalinas print with the use of a credit card as well and not just a debit card? Just wondering as that would be a great usage of my credit card, but otherwise I will just do the debit card. That is such a great pointer either way, I will try it from now on!
