I used the $1/1 Charmin from the P&G booklet exp 4/30 to get the Charmin for $1.99. It did not specify which Charmin like the other coupon in the booklet states ‘Charmin Megaroll’ exp 6/30.

When speaking with a cashier at my store about couponing, she mentioned that in order for her RR to print she usually has to buy an “extra” because her employee discount alters the amount of the sale. Not sure if this will apply for tommorrow as we are using a Q but thought maybe it was worth mentioning 🙂

Reply

Christie March 30, 2011 at 7:38 pm

Only if it’s a Buy $10+ or something like that. If it’s buy (2) (a number of items) you don’t have to worry about it.

Reply

Krystal March 30, 2011 at 7:40 pm

THANK YOU! I am new to Q’s and frequent your site for Wags. I am so thankful you put this out!

Reply

Amy G March 30, 2011 at 9:57 pm

I bought 4 Secret Clinical Trial sized as above on Tuesday with the military discount and got the RR, no problem. I also used the $2 MQ to get 8 Snickers eggs without issues (though I had a nice cashier…)

Reply

Sarah March 30, 2011 at 10:05 pm

So all the Snickers Eggs rang up at 25 cents with 15% off? Don’t want any beeps on that $2 q!

Reply

Christie March 30, 2011 at 10:45 pm

It’ll be just shy of $.25 when you buy 4 so you won’t hit a $1. Buy (5) to avoid the beeps or (9) on the $2 to avoid beeps!

Reply

Amy G March 31, 2011 at 2:25 am

You’re right, I see it now- if you take the discount as a group it will come up shy, rather than rounding each to .25, but looking at my receipt, they show .25 each, so it maybe it’s a YMMV. Either way, a great deal!!

Reply

kim March 31, 2011 at 2:44 pm

I bought 8 today, my receipe says $1.95 and it took both coupons – NO BEEPS!
I saw a post from someone who works there who bought 8 using 2 qs…said she’s done it all week w/no problems!

Reply

Sarah March 31, 2011 at 3:24 pm

All of my Snickers Eggs rang up at $.25 so I was able to get 8 for free with the $2 q!

Reply

Pam March 30, 2011 at 10:08 pm

Hi Amy,

Does every Walgreens offer a military discount on Tues? What percent off is it?

Reply

Amy G March 30, 2011 at 11:07 pm

You have to ask at your store, some stores don’t. There are 5 military bases around this city, so a lot more places offer discounts here. It’s 15% off if it’s available.

Reply

Katie March 31, 2011 at 3:38 pm

what military discount? My Walgreens I don’t believe honors this, however, I also have to fight with the manager every time on my Q’s. He’s a Q hater.

Reply

Stacey March 31, 2011 at 7:53 pm

There are 2 military bases by me and they do it every Thursday 15% off your whole purchase!

Reply

Krystal March 30, 2011 at 7:37 pm

Also the ad says limit six on the Snickers eggs. I had a cashier get fussy with me today because I was buying 7 and she also did not like my $2/2 Q she said it was supposed to be the bags… luckily the manager approved (probably because he sees me everyday LOL

Reply

Krystal March 30, 2011 at 7:37 pm

It’s rare I have trouble with crabby cashiers, anyone else run into the at their wags??

Reply

Tami March 31, 2011 at 6:40 am

The crabby ones are the ones who do not know the WAGS coupon policy. Tonight my Easter Egg coupon beeped and I tried to explain that she needed to adjust it down to 1.98; she told me she could not do that. I told her she could and she called the manager who confirmed what I said. It was a big deal; I wish WAGS would print out their own information and train their cashiers. Usually I don’t have a problem though. LOVE WAGS shopping

Reply

Linda March 31, 2011 at 8:44 am

Hmmm…you want to know if anyone has run into a crabby cashier in Walgreens? Where I live, there is a Walgreens on every other corner and I have only found ONE with a few nice cashiers and a coupon-friendly manager. If it wasn’t for him and this website I wouldn’t step into a Walgreens again. Two weeks ago when they had the Right Guard deodorant B1G1, I stopped at a store in Tampa on my way home from work. I gave the cashier my B1G1 coupons (I was only getting 4, not clearing the shelf) and she told me she could only give me half off with the coupon. When I asked why she picked up one of the deodorants, SHOOK IT IN MY FACE and said, “We pay $3 for each of these and I am not letting you get it for free!” I picked up my coupons and walked out. But maybe that isn’t a good example because it is way beyond crabby lol.

Reply

Christie March 31, 2011 at 9:38 am

Wow – That’s nuts. What’s the most ridiculous thing to me is that for most people Walgreens is really making it’s money on your prescriptions. If I spend $500 a year on prescriptions (not to mention all the money my insurance pays them) does it really matter if I get a good deal on deodorant?

Reply

Kathy McG March 31, 2011 at 4:30 pm

I’m in Tampa too and really only have one Walgreens I won’t use – they give me trouble EVERY time! I always find it hard to believe that some cashier’s are what I term “Coupon Nazi’s”. I have asked them to void my entire order when they’ve purposely not honored coupons that they clearly should have. I don’t think that they realize that their store gets reimbursed for manufacturer’s coupons and usually an additional $.08. In the meantime, they’ve just lost my entire purchase and I make it a point to let the manager know this before I leave.

Reply

Tammy March 30, 2011 at 7:58 pm

The coupon actually DID specify the single Snickers egg! It was there in the tiny, tiny list of products.

Reply

Krystal March 30, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Thanks, I will be sure to point that out if I have trouble using my last one tomorrow!

Reply

Lisa March 30, 2011 at 7:54 pm

I went to walgreens today and bought a bunch of stuff and I was wounderring if I figured something out right. I bought two colgat tooth paste for the two for six and I used two 1.50 coupons. With those and getting back the four dollar rr I basicaly got them free. Am I right about that or am I wrong??

Reply

Amanda March 30, 2011 at 7:56 pm

It is a $1 Moneymaker before New Walgreens discount. AFter the 15%, it is a $1.90 Moneymaker as Christie pointed out.

Reply

Annie March 30, 2011 at 8:08 pm

I think you actually made money off that, Lisa! Like $1? Haha

Amanda March 30, 2011 at 7:55 pm

Would the Walgreens Diaper deal work on this deal?

Buy 5 packs @$5.99 = $29.95 ($23.96 after 20% discount)
-$2/1 from Infant care booklet (will take off $10)
-$10 rebate
= $3.96 for 5 or $.80 a pack?

I know diapers are an exclusion online, but it doesn’t state anything about diapers being an exclusion in store.

Reply

Aubrey March 30, 2011 at 8:12 pm

Is the Wags diaper rebate still going on? $5.99×5=29.95-(20%)5.99- Infant book coupons 10.00-rebate 10.00=3.96 for packs of diapers? Please tell me the rebate is still available?!

Reply

Aubrey March 30, 2011 at 8:14 pm

*5 packs of diapers I meant 🙂

Reply

Jill W March 30, 2011 at 8:17 pm

I got the diaper rebate today. So I assume it’s still printing tomorrow!

Reply

Aubrey March 30, 2011 at 9:13 pm

Reply

lovedeals March 30, 2011 at 8:38 pm

If you are buying 5 packs of diapers then it won’t print the rebate. Because after 20% discount it will ring as $4.79 each diaper pack. So in order to get the rebate form you have to buy 6 packs of diapers.

Reply

Regena March 30, 2011 at 8:48 pm

The friends & family deal EXCLUDES diaper

Reply

Regena March 30, 2011 at 8:56 pm

Sorry, I read some other comments on the orginal post and it appears you can use it instore for diapers but not online. I guess we will see, because I was really hoping to use it on diapers too. Forgive me for answering too quickly before reading more. : /

Reply

Aubrey March 30, 2011 at 9:12 pm

It is ok, I posted before I read those comments as well! I am really hoping we can! 🙂

Reply

Julie Smith March 31, 2011 at 10:12 am

I thought I could use it for diapers in store but when you print it out it does have the diaper exclusion on it like the online version does.

Reply

Aubrey March 31, 2011 at 12:16 pm

That is weird because mine didn’t. I read it three or four times to make sure.

Reply

Tessie March 30, 2011 at 8:24 pm

If I use the 15% off coupon for the Garnier 4 for 14, will this still qualify for the $4 RR?

Reply

Christie March 30, 2011 at 9:32 pm

You have to hit $14 after the discount. So you need to adjust.

Reply

Ari March 30, 2011 at 8:24 pm

I might have asked this already but are these deals regional or for everyone… how do I find out what is available for me locally? Thanks for helping me learn about wags!

Reply

Tessie March 30, 2011 at 8:34 pm

You could check your local weekly circular from the Walgreens website.

Reply

Sophie March 30, 2011 at 8:41 pm

I seem to recall something “weird” happening with coupons last time this deal was on. Something like the value of coupons being adjusted by 15%. Anyone else remember anything similiar?

Reply

Christie March 30, 2011 at 9:31 pm

Sophie – The in ad coupons will be adjusted. So the easiest thing is just to look at the in ad coupon price and adjust that by 15%. Does that make sense? Since the price of the item is adjusted the amount the in ad coupon takes off is too or it would work out more than 15%. I think that might be the strange part you are thinking of.

Shay March 30, 2011 at 8:43 pm

The friends and family deal only runs tomorrow March 31st. One day only! Get the deals while you can 🙂 I will be trying the diaper deal because I was going to purchase them anyways 🙂

Reply

Kristen March 30, 2011 at 10:03 pm

I just printed my f&f coupon. It says not valid on photo… is an ink refill considered photo? Might seem like a dumb question, but they are refilled in the photo dept. Thought I’d ask since I keep running out of ink! 😉 Also, I did read all of the comments above regarding diapers. But, on the printed coupon, it is included in the list of exclusions. I am anxious to hear from someone that tries it!

Reply

Sam March 30, 2011 at 10:23 pm

Hey everyone. I work for Wags and the F$F deal will work on anything. If you get photos and or ink and ring up all your other stuff as well all we do is hit one key. It will also work on diapers. The only thing it does not work on is beer and cigs and dairy. So Don’t freak out. I’m telling you its the same button I use everyday 🙂 Just did the Visine deal and LOVED it 🙂

Kristen March 30, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Does the 15% off count as a Q in the Q totals, or is it like an ‘in-ad’ so it wont count against the Q total?

Reply

Lynn in MD March 31, 2011 at 7:50 am

It works as a Wags Q – just reduces the price of everything directly.

Reply

Cynthia in Illinois March 31, 2011 at 9:01 am

How do I sugn up for the P & G Everyday Savings? ( I know its a mail in , just not sure how to sign up for it!

Reply

Sam March 31, 2011 at 9:29 am

It is not a Q. We push a button. It will not count as a coupon so you dont need a filler for it. I wont exclude diapers. I was at work for 4 hours this morning and I rang up plenty of diapers with the F&F deal. We don’t even scan the paper we push A button. 🙂

Christie March 31, 2011 at 9:39 am

Hey Christie, yes its the Employee discount. So you get 20% off Wag brand items as well, this included photo and ink 🙂

Reply

Angela March 31, 2011 at 10:15 am

Since we have some friendly Wags employees learking about:), I was wondering if it will work to buy five packages of diapers totalling 23.95 after the 20% discount and one package of wipes at 1.99 after the 20% adding up to $25.94 and still get the $10 rebate. Please no one post that it doesn’t work on diapers, the employees know better:).

Reply

Sam March 31, 2011 at 10:18 am

haha Angela umm Im not sure what the deal is with the 10 rebate. If all it says is to spend 25 dollars on w brand baby products then yes, if its 25 on diapers then I’d say no… but Christie might have a better answer because Im not sure what the deal includes.

Reply

Christie March 31, 2011 at 10:29 am

Angela – The diaper deal has been hit or miss when you include the smaller Wipes. So I’d stick to just diapers. I’d buy (6) pks, use the $2/1 (Takes off $12) and you should be good to go! 🙂 The MIR should print.

Reply

Angela March 31, 2011 at 10:16 am

Oops, I forgot to take the $2 off infant care coupon into account. Now, how do I work that into the equation?

With the friends discount how would the $2 in ad coupon work for the listerine? Do u still get the whole $2 off or will it adjust the coupon since u have the discount? Thanks.

Candy March 31, 2011 at 12:03 pm

My Walgreens is not friendly at all. I have a hard time every time I go in there.

I went this morning and the lady questioned my 15%. Wanted to know what employee gave it to me. Then she tried not to take my 55 cents off shaving cream. Finally after 20 minutes I was able to check out. Oh and mine won’t take the $2/2 on the single eggs & didn’t feel like arguing anymore so I just used the $1/2 which actually has the singles listed on there.

I have all ready complained once on their website & the manager called me but he wasn’t even to friendly with his apology. I’m about ready to give up but they have had some really good deals lately.

My Walgreens also never stocks up on the sale items. They are almost always out by Sunday evening & don’t get any back in.

Reply

Christie March 31, 2011 at 1:20 pm

What! It’s even on their website!!! I’d call corporate and complain. The more complaints the more likely something will be done about it.

Reply

Ari March 31, 2011 at 3:11 pm

When I stopped by my wags at 830, the cashier hadn’t heard anything. She said the usually put a note on their timecards but not today! ugh. I went to another store about an hour later after dropping off my son and they knew about FF and no coupon needed. She was doing it for everyone.

Reply

Katie March 31, 2011 at 3:58 pm

You must go to the same wags as me (Mobile, AL)! The one I go to hassles me EVERY TIME I use coupons. I have to argue EVERY TIME. I’ve been told several times that the manager hates coupons and to refuse them whenever possible. I’m going to give them one more chance before I call HQ. I spend several thousand each year at the pharmacy, so I dont understand why they give me such a hard time.

Reply

Sarah March 31, 2011 at 4:44 pm

I just had the same problem with the girl not wanting to take my coupon and questioning what employee gave it to me. Even though I explained 5 times that it was an email sent out to people on their email list from corporate this morning. She finally called the manager over and he told her yes they are doing that today.

Reply

Betsy March 31, 2011 at 1:01 pm

I bought 6 packs of diapers today and the 20% did work and my rebate printed. I also used the $2 infant care coupon. The Walgreen’s brand 234 wipe refill package rang up for 3.99. I got tons of stuff – I am a very happy shopper!

Reply

Mel March 31, 2011 at 1:10 pm

I live in IL, so it’s home of Walgreens, and I’m surrounded by them. I know which have the friendly cashiers & managers and which don’t. I’ll just mention what has worked for me over the years.

If I run into a cashier who won’t take a coupon, I just say “Hmm, well that’s strange. But it’s okay, I’ll just go to another Walgreens and use it.” I’m very, very nice, and act like it’s no big deal. They take the coupon.

If you say you will go use it at another store (Target, Wal-Mart, etc.), that may work for those with only one Walgreens, I don’t know. But being nice is the key, if you say it like a threat or with irritation, that won’t work. I say it with a smile (I know, corny, but it works.)

Also, befriending certain cashiers has worked for me. They know I shop there a lot and so when there is doubt, they give me the benefit of it.

And THANK YOU for this site. I just found it and I also LOVE Walgreens. Wish I found this site years ago!

Anybody know if the Kotex deal that is $9 for 3 and get 3 rr is a reaching $9 thing or just buy 3 items? I’m afraid if it’s reaching $9, the F&F discount will mess it up…TIA!

Reply

Deb March 31, 2011 at 1:29 pm

OMG I had a problem too. The coupon kept beeping and they made a big deal about it. They questioned if I worked at wags and I said I didn’t but it is a FRIENDS and family coupon from the WAGS website and they kept saying I’m not an employee. But the assistant manager keyed a 15% discount in the register and did my transaction. The cashier and assistant manager did a fussing whisper to each other so I said to the cashier that I could just leave without buying anything then she just stopped complaining. I’m never going back to that wags ever again unless all the other wags run out of stock on some future good deals.
I’m still very upset about it.

Christie March 31, 2011 at 2:01 pm

Deb – Call corporate and complain! EVERYONE who is on Walgreens e-mail list got an e-mail this morning with it, it was plastered all over their website for the world to see. What the heck is wrong with these people!!!! GRRRRRR.

Reply

Deb March 31, 2011 at 2:33 pm

*sigh* yes I think for this one I will have to call corporate because the cashier and the a. manager did not have to have their little chit chat whisper about my couponing.
Thanks for reading and listening to my vent 🙂

And if you “like” Walgreens on Facebook, you had access to the coupon too. I had the announcement as a status update, that is when I first heard of it, then I got the email as well.

This makes me so sad. I hate people complaining because I love my job and am always nice to people and i love when people use coupons because then I go and do the same deal! Those people make us look bad 🙂

Back from Walgreens – here’s how the diapers worked.

I got 6 packs @ $4.79 each (20% off sale price)
$2.00 infant book coupon – took off $9.60 (20% off as well)

Total $28.74
Less -$ 9.60
Paid -$19.14 and rec’d the $10.00 rebate slip

So final cost per package = $1.52

My only concern is that you need to send a copy of the receipt with the rebate and circle the items. The
-$9.60 shows up right after the diapers. I think my sharpie is going to circle right over top of that, otherwise, I afraid they could decline the rebate because I didn’t actually spend $25.00.

I have a question. If I used registrar rewards to pay for items that I could get a rebate on, would it work still? I already did the diapers (boo to extra missed discount!) but am wondering for future reference. Thanks!

Sorry if this is a repeat, but you MUST give the cashier the 15% off coupon first or it won’t work. Just came back from Wags and didn’t do it right 🙁

Deb March 31, 2011 at 2:31 pm

yup, the F&F coupon was given first at my visit, still beeped.
will try again later at a diff wags cuz I still want to do the shaving cream deal.

My worst wags trip ever!!Istayed in there over an hour..None of my RR printed,I done, the Skintamate deal,Travel items and the candy. They re rang it Several times,with/without the 15%and it didnt print. They FINALY just gave me $off the next transaction since I did 3.The 1st manager was crabby but the 2nd one was SUPER nice,She said she didnt know what the deal was..So good luck to the brave ppl that try this

Christie March 31, 2011 at 2:21 pm

Sounds like your catalina machine was down. All my RR printed and I used the 15% off at 3 different stores.

Bree April 1, 2011 at 1:59 am

I had the same problem. Went through the transaction just fine..skin/shaving gel beeped though, and only one RR printed out of 4 that I was suppose to get. I missed the shaving gel, Lady speed stick, and All laundy (1.00 RR). The cashier said the machine made a funny noise and just quite. After trying to re-ring the shaving gel on another machine nothing printed. So, I had to wait for cashier to make sure there was a RR. The trip ended up being 1 1/2 hours, didn’t get all that I wanted (returned items), floor manager was upset because she was giving me cash back (more than I spent because of RR I had used). It was a nightmare for the 15% off. I just kept telling myself that I have made alot of great deals here. Just keep smiling 🙂

So, my question is what do you do when you want to return items in a situation like this and you used RR? Does Wallgreens have a policy on this? At first the cashier told me I couldn’t return the items because she was not suppose to give me the money back that I actually didn’t spend OOP. Any thoughts? Thank you also for all your work on this site Christie 🙂

Hey Bree, at my store we try to get an item that will print that amount off in RR or give it back on a gift card, but boy will that talk about you after. haha

I just read all your comments and got a bit confused. Can you help before I go on my trip to Wags? You suggested doing the Edge deal which is 2/$4. With the FF discount, it would be 2/$3.40 and we’d still get the $2 RR. That sounds great. However, I’m curious what makes the Garnier deal different? The ad says 4/$14. With the FF discount, it would be $11.90. You mentioned the RR will not print with the FF discount because we would be less than $14. What makes the two different deals different? Thanks so much for explaining it.

Christie March 31, 2011 at 3:07 pm

The signs for the Garnier at my stores say
Get $4 RR WYB $14 of Garnier hair care

So before the 15% off that’s 4 products, but after the 15% off then 4 products will no longer be $14. Since they are using the $dollar amount ($14) as the trigger for the RR to print, you won’t be at $14 after the discount.

Thank You Christie! Had my best trip to Walgreens ever b/c of your site last week and this week.

Between the 15% discount, RRs, and coupons, I spent $14 ($6 of that was tax), and got approx. $95 worth of products! Total Savings at bottom of my receipt was $85.04! W00T! And they are all things I use.

Oh, and $6 more of RRs printed out for me. So, if adjusted for that, even better deal.

The Walgreens girl was really sweet and said “I’m amazed you got all that stuff for so little. That’s great.”

Also, before I even started shopping I went up to the manager and clarified about the 15% discount and he was totally informed and said if I had any problems to have him paged.

After reading some of your stories, I feel very grateful my Walgreens group is so nice. I hope yours get better.

I just recently found your site, I love it! I went to one of my walgreens today and they had everything that I wanted except the snickers eggs.

I did however scoore a sweet deal on playtex sports tampons. They were clearanced for 1.39 for the 18ct after the 15% discount made them 1.18 then there is a 1.00 off in the April book anlong with the coupon from the paper a few weeks ago. I made 1.14 on the deal.

The 7 count Nescafe which is 2/$2 is producing, in addition to the register reward, a coupon for $1.50/3! This is a great money maker, especially with the 15% FF deal, when you buy four since it produces a $4 Register Reward AND another $1.50/3 coupon!

Did this deal at 3 different Wags. 2 were informed of it, 1 wasn’t, but they all accepted it nicely (I forgot to give it first twice and they were still very nice about it). Bought rimmel, colgate toothbrush/paste, nescafe, kleenex etc. The only problem I had was with the skintimate coupons (0.55/1), they kept beeping, mgr had to key it in. Spent bout $9.00, saved over $60. Will be going back for the huggies diapers. Thanks for this awesome website.

Went to Wags this morning. I spent $19.33 OOP and got over $200 in product!!! I was so excited to see what this extra 15% did for me. I walked out with $10 in RR to use next week!

Tip: My store had the 2 pack of the breathe right strips for only .25. They were not marked but that is what they came up as.

Thanks for helping me save money!!!

Just got back and got a lot of the same things mentioned above and recommended by Christie so I won’t mention them. But I’m so excited about the Kibbles N Bits dog food being on sale!! It is $3.99 for the 4lb bag (I think the sign said good 3/27 thru 4/30). They rang up for $3.39 with the FF discount and I used $2 off any bag coupons for a final price of $1.39, that’s .34 a pound!! Okay, here’s the even better part – this past weekend I was at Dollar General trying to buy these same bags of dog food with my coupons and their $5 Super Saturday coupon but the manager wouldn’t let me use the coupons and was real ugly about it. Well haha Dollar General I got a better deal at Wags!!! LOL!! 😀

I TRIED THIS TRANSACTION TONIGHT AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE COMMITTING COUPON FRAUD. THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE $1 FOR $.76. WOULDN’T EVEN ADJUST IT DOWN AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE COMMITTING COUPON FRAUD:
Gain, 11oz $.89 (w/in ad Q) ($.76)
-$1/1 Gain Dish Soap, Any – P&G Everyday Savings x6/30
= FREE (or $.24 BETTER THAN FREE!)

Christie March 31, 2011 at 9:52 pm

Well then I guess their own policy is coupon fraud (since it says it’ll be adjusted down) and I guess the coupon police is going to shut down all of the Walmarts for coupon fraud (since their policy gives overage). LOL.

Please call corporate on that one, the employees need to be trained on their policy and they really need not be accusing people of fraud!

Thanks, I will today. TRIED TO BUY the travel size items and because they were ringing up less than $1.00, they wouldn’t take the $1.00!! I had to have them void the transaction. I smiled and kept interjecting: Yes, but your coupon policy states….” DIDN’T MATTER. I had toilet paper, milk, creamer to absorb any overage. Earlier in the week they took the $1/2 Mars on the little $.29 Snickers creme eggs-THEY COMMITTED COUPON FRAUD THEN! LOL

I had a manager tell me this a couple of weeks ago. Her solution was to raise the price of the item up to the price of the coupon, lol. I ‘paid’ more for it than the sale price on the shelf. I knew it was still the same price to me, but it sure made me feel odd to charged more than the selling price for something… I just try to go to a different cashier when I see her in the store. 🙂

I called corporate and I received a call from the manager within two hours. Very apologetic and offered me a gift card to pick up to remain a Walgreens customer. He told me I was right in re guards to the coupon being adjusted down and in no way was I trying to commit coupon fraud. Since I was able to tell them the approximate time, he said he even reviewed the video tape and my transaction. When he asked me what he could do to improve my shopping experience I told him to have the policy printed in a binder at th front of the store for quick reference. To that he said somethings can’t be kept in the front of the store. Huh?

I went to a second Walgreens last night. I was checking out & was told:
A) You can’t use a coupon on clearance
B) We can’t adjust coupons down only adjust them up NOT WHAT THE POLICY STATES
I unfortunately ripped my Rewards Card off my key chain & left it along with the transaction I told them to void.

I had the same problem on Sunday. It bothered me so bad I finally wrote an email that night. Tuesday when I got home there was an apology &gift card waiting. I feel very guilty for the manager feeling like she owed me a gc, but my husband said that was the least they could do…this has happened many, many times before. I hope you write or call corporate, you’ll definately feel better:)

I REALLY wish walgreens would have informed their employees how to check us out with the ff discount! The first store, I stood in line 35 minutes. She rang up another customers order wrong and decided to try & fix it while ringing me up at the same time…….arrrgghhhghg@!!! then made the same mistake (not scanning the coupon or pushing the button before scanning the merchandise) with my order.
Since she was afraid to call a manager, she tried deducting 20% (because it was easier to figure out, than 15% it was supposed to ring up) Well, 20% off was more than my total, so then she was forced to call a manager. Who then looked at her like she was an idiot and started talking very loud and slow to her. After the manager voided my transactiona and refunded the previous customers order-she offered to take one of us up front to check out. I stayed, and wouldn’t you know-she did it again! lol The 3rd, she got it right and I ran out of the store as fast as I could.
next store (after picking up my daughter) i had the same problem all over again…but she was able to fix it.
wish i had more time (and patience) to stock up on some more stuff, but wags has really wore me out today:)

I can’t believe myself! I went into Walgreens and bought a bunch of the nuts on clearance (down to $1.59) and some Chinet plates, and a few other items…AND I FORGOT TO USE THE FF DISCOUNT! Can you believe it? I am so bothered right now, it’s making me realize I think I’m taking this couponing WAY too serious!!

Kelly, don’t beat yourself over it. I too forgot to use one of my $1/1 coupons for plates, even though I HAD it in my hands.

Just got back from WAGS. The $2 walgreens diaper coupon from the infant care book only deducted 9.60 for the 6 pkgs of diapers I bought instead of 12.00. Not sure if it had anything to do with the F&F 15% coupon or not. I asked the lady checking me out why and she said she didn’t know why. Then I asked her to please ask the manager why and she said she WAS the manager! lol I gave up! I like the deals I get sometimes at WAGS but I’m starting to think all the hassle isn’t worth it. You go in thinking up will be able to get a certain deal and then BAM…you don’t. Everytime I go in there they make me feel like I’m doing something wrong by using coupons. It’s also uncomfortable knowing the coupon policy better than they do, even the managers! Oh, also she adjusted down all my coupons bc of the 15% F&F. I’ve been wondering, is it even legal for WAGS to “adjust down” a coupon? I wonder if the companies the coupons come from allow them to do this? Or are they even aware that us, the customers, are not getting the full value of the coupon…yet they are paying back WAGS the full amount?

Reply

Bree April 1, 2011 at 2:24 am

I wonder about that too. If there is no place to put the adjusted price on the coupon, how is it processed.

Also, I finally called Wallgreens Corp over issues of attitudes in the store. Within an hour I received a call back from the Store Manager. She said she usually is not on the floor so you may have been talking with a floor manager. I had a great conversation with her and really feel she helped out. It seems that cashiers are more friendly now, and I even had one come up to me today while I was shopping and said “when you are ready, I can help you in Cosmetics”. She is one of the awsome cashiers there. Too bad my RR didn’t print…I was sent to the floor manager and the rest is history (posted that previously above 🙂 ) Also, this same floor manager previously tried to tell me I could not use two coupons on a buy one get one free. I said “oh, did your policy change?” She said no, that has always been their policy and would not budge while I explained what their policy states. I then asked her if I could get a raincheck for the price since it was ending in about 2 hours. I wanted to come back the next day to talk with the store manager. She said no to the raincheck. I forgot my store policy copy at home so went home to get it, and back to the store I went. Once I showed her Wallgreens Coupon Policy, she just said ok. No sorry for the misunderstanding or anything. Just “OK”. So I purchased my products, twice :), and got 4 bottles of Osteo Bi-flex FREE. Now that is worth it since my Mother uses it everyday. Love the policy, hate the game.

i am over Walgreens. this will be my third? call to corporate in 3 weeks…this time I am going to write the corporate office and the manufacturer of all the items TWO walgreens stores were out of..it’s getting old. Walgreens used to be my favorite store to shop at. Now it’s CVS hands down. I keep trying to give them another chance, but every week it is the same thing. 🙁
