Updates From the Field Super Jingle Cash

by Christie Bisbee on December 12, 2010

SUPER JINGLE CASH
The Super Jingle Cash is now working AFTER all Walgreens Coupons and any other Super Jingle Cash but BEFORE any MQ or Register Rewards.

So your transaction has to be above $25 after any Walgreens coupons or discounts and after any SUPER Jingle Cash that you earned from last week and are using to pay.

Also, you can only use 1 SUPER Jingle Cash per Transaction.

If your transaction is $30 after Walgreens coupons and you use a $5 Super Jingle Cash from last week to pay,  you’ll bring your total to $25 and you WILL get another $5 in Super Jingle Cash! So although last week was obviously better, I suspect it was a fluke. It also looks like yesterday they were having all kinds of problems and the Super Jingle Cash was not printing when it should have.

Hi…question on these jingle cash supers…

say I have a trans for $77 after all wags coups but before mq…and I use one of my $20 Super JC…along with other regular register rewards. and Manufact. coupons ..and get my total down to whatever..

will I still get the $15 Super JC even though I used a $20 one in the transaction?

thanks

Hey Adam – By using the $15 Super JC you’ll be bringing the qualifying total to $62 so you’d get $10 in SJC instead of $15. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for the info! My cashier told me that I could actually use both super jingle cash rewards on one transaction as long as it does not exceed the amount . . . like my total comes to $8 but my jingle cash is $10 . . . they would not give me the $2 difference . . . I will have to find out when I make my run in a bit! Again, thanks for the info.

Walgreens was so frustrating for me yesterday. I did 2 transactions, the first to get the Hallmark RR on tissue(which of course was not working at the time) and the second I thought I would “splurge” and get some P.F. Chang’s without coupons (gasp!). So in my second transaction I added the revelon nail polish, and several “free” after MFR coupon items that I had. No Super Jingle cash printed however:(
According to your above description I should have received it b/c my before MFR coupons and RR my total would have been $28 (actual OOP was $16.02). Based on your recommendation I just called the number and they took all my information. The lady said they would look into it and either mail me a Jingle cash or call me and tell me that I’m not eligible to get it. Thanks for keeping me up to date with all the latest breaking Walgreens news!

Have they changed the Super Jingle cash rules since last week? I printed out a page from their website and one of the points listed says that the number of mfr coupons, including Walgreens Jingle cash mfr coupons, must not exceed the number of items in the transaction.

Why can’t we use 2 of the in store coupons for the cards 3/$2, since we are going to buy 6…will we still get the $5 RR + $2 money maker?

hello everyone,

I wanted to share what I learned on my shopping trip. Jingle cash from last week expires 12-18-10. I felt pressured to buy something with due to time constraint. I had (5) 5.00 in jingle cash which you can not use in the same transaction. So this is what I did and what resulted was a bunch of free cards and a longer expiration date.

1st transaction:
6 hallmark money cardholders (use in ad coupon 3 for 2.00)
1 lindsay olives (.99 with in ad coupon)
(store has to cross modify price for money cardholders since coupon is beeping: reason unknown)

transaction total: 5.40
minus last weeks jingle cash 5.00=
I ended up paying .28 and not .40 cents and I got 5.00 hallmark jingle cash with an expiration date of 12-26-10. I did this four times.

In the end, I received 24 gift cardholders and 4 cans of lindsay olives for a grand total 1.12 and still maintained 20.00 in jingle cash that does not expire until 12-26-10.
Also, I am assuming since jingle cash is now given by hallmark I can use more than one in one transaction? Hope this helps!

Bridget – Last week it was $25 BEFORE Wags coupons too. That has changed and this week it is AFTER Wags coupons.

Just got back from Wags and got 6 money holder cards. The Q does not say only $.99 cards, so I even bought a singing one (that was $4.99). The Q did not scan, so the manager came, saw they were all money cards, and rang them up at $.67 per card. I also got the $2 hair clips (with $2 RR). I paid with $5 RR from a while ago. Paid $1.44 oop and got $7 RR!!!

I just got back from Wags. My subtotal was $52.10. I used $14.50 in Jingle Cash (not Super Jingle Cash). I had Man Qs totaling $7. This brought my total down to $30.60 + tax. I only received a $5 Super Jingle Cash. Not happy. I guess I’ll be making some returns tomorrow!

Judy, I noticed that when the cashier hit the total button, my screen said “subtotal”, but it was actually the total that included the tax, the total I paid. That is what was messing us up, the mgr and I. Don’t know why the machine said “subtotal”. HTH

Don’t forget that the computer is counting ALL STORE coupons and deals, like B1G1, that are being taken off. So only count the final store sale price. For instance, the Olay is B1G150% off, so count the price of the first one, and the 50% price of the 2nd in your total. Also, subtract any STORE coupons. I told the manager they should be complaining about this. It is not only totally confusing to us, but also to them. Walgreens should print all the Jingles details in the ad and instore for the customers.

I stopped tonight, they didn’t have any of the Olay Wash or the Pretzel M&M’s, which messed up my scenario! Plus I thought they were open til 11 (nope, they closed at 10! So I had to rush)
I spent like 25.97 after WAGS sales/coupons,I used two $5.00 jingle cash (Not super jingle) and I did not get a $5.00 Super Jingle, is it now after RR too?
The card coupon didn’t scan and the clerk price adjusted two of the cards to .02 so the Hallmark Reward did print out for me.

@ adam-You will receive Super Jingle Cash based on you total before tax after any Wag coupons and Super Jingle cash and before MQ and RR

@ crunchy deals- you can only use 1 SUPER Jingle Cash per transaction. You can use 1 SUPER Jingle Cash and regular Jingle Cash (aka Register Rewards in the same transaction(

@ Jennifer- was it at $25 BEFORE tax? SUPER Jingle cash is based on before tax

@ Bridget-This has always been true with regular jingle cash (aka register rewards) and MQ. regular jingle cash will say manufacturer coupon on it.

@ ginny-if you buy 6 you will pay $4 and receive a $5 jingle cash making this a $1 money maker

@ judy-was it $50 before tax?

@ dawn-Was it before tax? It needs to be $25 before tax

Yep, It was before tax. He price adjusted the cards, so that coupon didn’t come off, and he had to price adjust the one Bic coupon to 1.99. I guess modifying anything messes it up?

I have to go back tomorrow (I forgot to buy cat food, I checked the price of that Pro Plan since I had the 5.00 coupon at Petco, darn, that stuff is expensive!) I was going to just PU a bag of something at WAGS to help me meet the total, and I totally forgot since I was rushed.

I planned on just calling Catalina instead of messing around with the store, LOL

I think I will try to do a scenario tomorrow that doesn’t include them modifying anything (But I think almost every trip I ever make they have to adjust something!) The Jingles WAGS coupon took off $2 for some reason, I thought it was when you bought two bags?

Is the Revlon nail polish a monthly RR deal this month?

Yesterday, I went to a local Walgreens and purchased 6 money holder cards. The coupon didn’t work, but the clerk adjusted the price. I did not get any RRs. When I questioned that, the clerk told me I could get RRs only for Greeting cards. Today, I went to another Walgreens and tried to purchase three money holders. The coupon didn’t work. The clerk called the manager who informed me that the coupon pertained only to 99cent cards. When I showed her the ad and mentioned that there were no such restrictions on the ad, she refused to adjust the price. Needless to say, I didn’t purchase the cards. I’ve complained to Walgreens for this bait and switch.

Last night my wonderful husband went to walgreens – list in hand, coupons and step-by-step directions on how to do this (I just had surgery and he knows I was fretting over missing a sale 🙂 He spent $28.14 before Qs and tax. He had no Wags Qs, but he did have $19.98 in Manf Qs and a $5 and a $2 reg Jingle Cash. He paid $1.18 OOP yay! But no Super Jingle Cash. He calls me and told me and I argued that it was BEFORE Qs and tax – He went to another Wags just to prove a point bought the entire order again exactly the same way and that store gave him $5 Super Jingle Cash. Now, he has to go back to the other store and return the items (I really don’t need double of everything)

Today I bought a Didget kids monitor, on sale for $9.99, 4 kids toys BOGO at $6.99, one Bufferin at $5.99, a tape measure kit at $2 and 4 puzzles @ 2/$1..total BEFORE any coupons was $33.96. Used $3/1 Wags Bufferin, and the $10/1 Wags (says manufacture coupon though!) Didget coupon from the Diabetes mag, ONE Super Cash @ $5 and several regular RR’s a man coupon for the Bufferin at $3 and my total was less than $5..NO super jingle printed. It should have. Does anyone know if the manufacture monitor coupon for Didget is ringing as a Wags coupon? This was early Tue. morning.

I think I must be just missing it but I can not find the Phone # I thought I saw for Catalina. I made a Purchase that under these Guidelines should have qualified but the “Super Jingle Cash” Did not print.

My Total Pretax and pre MFG Qs. 30.46

I used 1 5$ Super Jingle Cash. 3 – 5$ Revlon RRs and 9.75 in other MFG Q’s Bringing my Pretax total to $.71 + 1.64 Tax for a grand total of 2.35 OOP.

Based on the Pretax total of 30.46 and the use of a single 5$ Super Jingle Cash I should have qualified for another 5$ Super but it did not print.

The local Mgr told me Super Jingle cash was after coupons and my total was only $.71 so I was well short. I got tired of explaining the program to him because it was not getting me anywhere and my 4 yr old was getting agitated. I figured I would just call when I got home.

Which brings me here and for some reason I don’t see the Number.

Thank you,
Corey

Hi Corey – Catalina has started telling people that they have to resolve the Super Jingle Cash with Walgreens directly. I would try Walgreens corporate.

My Super Jingle Cash Did NOT print today. My Subtotal was 37.83 – 10.40 in wag coupons/discounts. Which brought my pre tax total to 27.43. Then I had several manf. coupons, which brought my total to $1.20.

Emailed Catalina.. see what happens 🙂

I have made 9 Transactions which I thought followed the rules as stated. 2 of the transactions did not print the super jingle cash. My Pre MFG Q total was always over 25$ and my out of pocket never more then a couple of dollars, mainly for tax. I just spent some time reviewing all of my receipts and found on those two receipts I purchased Milk on one and Coffee Creamer on the other.

I went back and reread this webpage.
http://www.walgreens.com/topic/save-money/register-rewards.jsp

“Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h cannot be earned or redeemed on purchases of the following products and services: prescriptions and items prohibited by law, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, lottery tickets, money orders / transfers, transportation passes, postage stamps, dairy, prescription savings club membership, health care services, gift / phone / prepaid cards.”

For some reason I missed that Diary items could not be purchased in previous readings. It just does not seem to be along the same line as all the other exclusions. At least I now have an answer explaining why it did not print.

Hope that will help someone else for the last 2.5 days of Super Jingle Cash.

Have the rules changed again as I did two separate transactions, both were $25 after my $5 jingle cash and after wags coupons,,, I looked at the website and the first line states:

Customers redeeming Walgreens Jingle Ca$h against the same offer may not receive another Walgreens Jingle Ca$h coupon.

To me, this means you can’t get jingle cash if you use jingle cash no matter the total. Has anyone else had any experiences?

Hi Stephanie – The Super Jingle Cash offer ended last Saturday 12/18. So this week you’ll basically just be using your SJC to buy stuff (they expire 12/24) but you won’t get any more Super Jingle Cash. The regular Register Rewards (or Jingle Cash as they are calling it) promotions will continue as normal. Hope that helps!

Dee December 26, 2010 at 9:33 pm

I did three transactions for over $50.00 before the jingle cash promotion expired. After coupons my totals were under $50 but over $25 so I only got three $5 jingle cash, one on each order. I tried to explain to the cashier that I had spent enough to qualify for the $10 jingle cash but they said there was nothing they could do and that what I got was all that printed. Can I still do something about not getting the right amounts on my jingle cash? Thanks,

Dee – I think it’s probably too late. Catalina was referring everyone to their local Wags to resolve any issues. 🙁
