UPDATES – MUST READ!

by Christie Bisbee on December 11, 2010

UPDATE – I went to pick up a few things tonight 12/11 and I did a transaction with the $.49 Donation Cards. They did NOT work for the Register Reward Deal. This is the EXACT same store where I purchased them earlier in the week. I bought (2) $.99 cards instead which worked just fine. I’m thinking that deal might be DEAD too.

I have a few updates for you all. My in-box was exploding this morning! Thank you to all of you who e-mailed.  I make many, many trips to different Walgreens every week but this is a one woman show, so I appreciate the updates from all of you! I’ll take any help I can get. 🙂

HALLMARK TISSUE PAPER & WRAPPING PAPER
I’m sorry to say that as of this morning it appears that this deal on the tissue paper and the wrapping paper has been pulled. Apparently someone (Walgreens, Hallmark?) decided this was too good of a deal and decided to remove both the tissue paper and the wrapping paper from the inclusions.  I hope you stocked up while the deal was still on.  Let’s hope the $.49, $.89 and $.99 cards still work. One of the $.99 cards is actually pictured in the ad so it better work! Let us know what you find.

SUPER JINGLE CASH
I’ve had lots of reports from all of you that all of a sudden the Super Jingle Cash is NOT printing unless you spend $25 AFTER coupons! And Register Rewards are considered coupons so that means if you pay for your transaction with Register Rewards the $5 Super Jingle Cash won’t print either.

I don’t think I need to tell you how I feel about that?!!! If you make any purchases today over $25 please let us know what you are finding. I hate to think that Walgreens decided to change the rules 1/2 way, but then again, I don’t think any of us would be surprised.  It’s particularly frustrating because on Walgreens the website HERE it says this…

“Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h is earned after all applicable discounts and before any manufacturer coupons or taxes are imposed.

If you shop at Walgreens today, let us know how you make out by leaving a comment on this post!

Aww.. I was planning on making a trip in today to get wrapping paper and tissue paper. Guess I won’t be doing that. Bummer 🙁

Hi,

I went this morning (Saturday) and bought 6 tissues…no Jingle Cash. I returned them all.

Then I bought 6 diapers at $8.99 each BOGO for a subtotal of $26.97. I used 6 of the Red Plum Walgreen Diaper Qs @ $1 each for a new subtotal of $20.97…no Jingle Cash.

Considering I was expecting $5 RRs for the tissue and at least another $5 for the diapers (if not $10 as some people reported getting the $10 Jingle Cash on the original $53.94 on the 6 packs of diapers), I was pretty disappointed. Oh well! 🙂

I bought 6 tissue papers this morning and I didn’t get any jingle cash. I also spent over $25 before coupons and didn’t get the five RR for that either. I even tried buying six of the .49 cards and still no RR from Hallmark. All of these deals had worked for me earlier in the week.

I went to two different Walgreens on Thurs. night. The first the Jingle Cash printed just fine after the coupons, the second Walgreens it didn’t and the manager told me it was after all coupons were deducted. I made him void the sale and give me back my coupons since they were for free items and would rather use them toward a deal.

I got to do the wrapping paper last night, but went to do the tissue this morning and no Jingles for me….bummer! The tissue paper was still cheap though.

I’m SO glad I hit up Walgreens last night before the blizzard hit today! I went last night after 9pm and had just under $27 of merchandise, after coupons got it down to $4 and got my Jingle Cash! But they were out of the tissue paper last night anyways.
Thanks for all the updating you do! You are awesome!

Has anyone tried it on the scotch scissor deal that momsbyhea.net has posted. Will we still get jingle cash?

Reply

Does anyone have any idea how the jingle cash is coded? Will it prevent another register reward from printing if you use it? Just wondering how best to use my jingle cash this week.

Went this morning and the wrap/tissue deal was off as others are reporting. Spent $51 pre-coupon and the Jingle deal did not print either. The manager was able to print the $10 certificate for me. Also the Crest one did not print and he printed that one as well.

Purchased over $25.00 worth of items before coupons after coupons it was under the $25.00 and I did not receive any jingle cash boohoo!!!

Reply

Mynde Goble December 11, 2010 at 12:37 pm

Just came from Walgreens. The tissue paper/wrapping paper deal is over, you are correct.

I spent $60 before coupons, so I assumed I would get the $10 super jingle cash- after my manufacturer coupons my total was $34, so I would have assumed at least the $5. But I paid with some jingle cash I had from other deals (mainly tissue paper and nail polish and m&m’s) and my total was less than $10 out of pocket. NO JINGLE CASH PRINTED. To top it off- the cashier treated me like I was a crook. I hate that!

It sounds to me like Catalina Marketing is having problems this morning. They are the ones that officially do the Register Rewards or Jingle Cash for Walgreen’s. Has anyone contacted them directly about the issues with the Catalina printers?

As far as I can tell, if your purchase hits 25 after Wags q’s but before manu q’s you should get the jingle cash. My subtotal after wags q’s was 25.47, after manu q’s 11.68 and mine printed! Hope that helps!

Reply

Kristin December 11, 2010 at 2:03 pm

I bought 6 tissues and 4 crayola pixies and my total was over 25.00. I used manu q’s and a RR and cash to pay it. I did not get the Super Jingle cash. The manager thought because I paid with a RR is why it did not print. He did print one for me though. He was very nice. I was bummed that it had stopped for tissue. He said that he had gotten an email about something about Hallmark and that was probably it.

I did several JC transactions throughout the week and always got my JC until today. I really think this was pulled on purpose. We started hearing reports about it not working on the pre-coupon amount earlier this week. I have noticed that many times it’s a sign that they are getting ready to pull a deal when some areas are having the deal work. We’ll see if it’s back to pre-coupon next week, but my bet is that it won’t be.

Is the Jingle Cash Promotion being done by Catalina?

Reply

Jill December 11, 2010 at 2:35 pm

I’m always grateful for the great deals at Walgreen’s, but it really irritates me when they change it midway thorugh like this. Then you end up stuck with a transaction you don’t want or having to make a return like I did this morning. And since the manager always has to do the returns it becomes this big hassle (especially when Qs or RRs are involved) with the manager SO irritated that anyone is wasting their time on a return.

Reply

Mandy December 11, 2010 at 2:47 pm

What you said is correct….I went this morning and had 2 transactions, both over $25 before coupons and my jingle cash didn’t print for either. And the wrapping paper/tissue paper didn’t work for me either. Oh well they were good deals but just not as sweet as I’d have liked them to be.

Rachel December 11, 2010 at 2:56 pm

I wish I had read this before I went this morning! I wanted 6 of the diapers but could only get four. I bought six wrapping paper, was not allowed to use the Hallmark coupon for it, did not get an RR for it. I spent $28.95 before coupons and got no jingle cash. I’m annoyed, but I’ve decided not to return anything since I still got okay deals.

I use to work for WAGS and make sure the total button is pressed BEFORE any cpns. The cashiers are in the habit sometimes to scan the WAGS cpn with the item. If your total is under 25 before the total button is pressed your RR will not print. Also any manager can print your RR for you if it is an advertised sale. Corperate absolutely hates customer complaints. So managers will do what you want to avoid a complaint. 🙂

I spoke with a manager today who looked it up in the computer and as of 2pm central time today, the $5 for $25 jingle cash will not print unless your out of pocket is over $25. When I wanted the transacation voided he could not understand and made me feel like an idiot. He voided the transaction, but I hate when people make me feel like that just for getting good deals 🙁

Isn’t that false advertisement? Nowhere in their coupon policy does it say that in order to receive RR your total after other coupons must meet or exceed the minimum requirement for the RR.

“Register RewardsTM coupons

Earning Register RewardsTM

* Register RewardsTM will only print for in-stock merchandise during the promotional period.
* Register RewardsTM can only be earned for eligible items. No substitutions.
* There is a limit of one Register RewardsTM (RR) printed per offer per customer per transaction.
* Customers redeeming a Register RewardsTM against the same offer may not receive another RR.

Redeeming Register RewardsTM

* Customers redeeming a Register RewardsTM against the same offer may not receive another RR.
* Refer to Register RewardsTM coupon for expiration date.
* The RR coupon value cannot exceed the total purchase amount. No cash back and no cash value for RR coupon.
* The number of manufacturer coupons, including RR manufacturer coupons, must not exceed the number of items in the transaction.
* Register RewardsTM must be forfeited if the qualifying merchandise is returned.
* Register RewardsTM cannot be used toward the purchase of gift cards and pre-paid cards.
* Register RewardsTM can be redeemed for eligible items only.”

Was told by manager that purchase must be $25+ after coupons. Bummer…

I did the Scotch scissors deal several times this week & the JC printed each time. I also did the Crayola Pixie Fairies deal several times, & again, rec’d my JC. I did the $4/9.99 toys x 3 deal once & rec’d JC. I did my final Wags trip for the week last night on my way home from work & did the Hallmark tissue paper deal x 3 plus walked out with 18 Snickers nutcrakers & 12 bags of Butterfinger Snacks. I am SOOOOOOOOO glad I stopped last night before all this confusion started! I’ll have to shop, shop, & shop Wags this week to use all the JC I rec’d from the above deals!

It spit my out 5.00

Too bad I didn’t break my husbands meds into 2 seperate orders.. I would have got more than $20.00 JC

I like Walgreens better than CVS. I tent to save more money at Walgreens. CVS use to be a great place to shop.. I rarely shop there anymore… I also don’t get my husbands meds there anymore.. They are expensive on a lot of things and I have not gotten any RR in a long time there. I shop there when they have markdowns on items.

If anyone has the $25.00 coupon off the Sonic Toothbrush at Walgreens.. They are marked down to $39.99 plus a $10.00 mail in rebate.. pLUS $5.00 JC
You will get a $80.00 toothbrush for next to nothing. It’s really a great deal! I did this last week.

ALERT: I just ran to my Walgreens and had no problems at all with the register producing either my Jingle Cash of $4.00 for the PF Changs that I brought or the Super Jingle Cash for $10.00 for spending about $51.00!!!

The only items that I purchased for regular Jingle Cash was the PF Changs.

Also, I used $36 in coupons and Jingle cash that I had!! So my total OOP was $16.93!!! I could have gave the clerk more Jingle Cash but I didn’t want to press my luck!!!

I got back $14.00 – $10 Super and $4 regular Jingle Cash!!!

Stopped in at Walgreens late friday night.(Ogden, Utah) and bought 6 rolls of wrapping paper, and got the $5 RR. Then I bought 6 tissue papers and got $5 RR. Sounds like it was a good thing that I went in friday night. I was going to try it again Saturday, but got too busy. I told my kids about it, but sounds like they wouldn’t have gotten the same deal today.

To sort some things out, especially with the pre/post coupon issue, we got several corporate emails today:

– First, involving the Hallmark card deal, that Hallmark items other than cards were giving Jingle Cash and that was being fixed.

– Second, that restricted items (prescriptions, booze, gift cards, etc) were giving out Jingle Cash and they were working on fixing that.

– Lastly, we were sent .pdf signs to put out for the 12/12 ad stating that Jingle Cash would be received for your POST Jingle Cash total. We all groaned, but then played with it a bit, and at my store everything worked fine as long as you didn’t use the Walgreens Jingle Cash, which follows the first point of the company RR Coupon Policy that “Customers redeeming a Register RewardsTM against the same offer may not receive another RR.” MFR coupons and WAG coupons worked fine.

So I guess FYI and YMMV. – JG

If I go use these to pay for specific items that will produce more RR, will those print out? I guess, in other words, do they roll like CVS ECB do?

Thanks!!!

Stephanie,
The only $25 Sonicare Q that I saw was for the flexcare models, which are much more expensive than the Essence model which is on sale for $39.99. I don’t know if she tried to use it on the Essence and it went through, but I won’t try it because it is not the right product. The $10 any Sonicare Q already makes it $29.99, and you’ll get a $10 rebate and $5 Super Jingle Cash, so I think $14.99 is still a great price! HTH 🙂

Reply

Wendy December 12, 2010 at 3:09 pm

I spent over 25 bucks, but my coupons dropped it to below and then I used RR’s too, wouldn’t print the $5 in Jingle cash. The manager was kind enough to force print some for me though. I think they changed the rules halfway through. The manager told me that some people had gotten some really good deals using this promotion, so corporate probably changed it in the system. It worked earlier in the week. I am really irritated with Walgreens…
