My goal for this site is to not only share the latest deals with you but to help you become what I call Wags Wise. Wags can be a confusing place to shop, from the Register Rewards, to what order do I hand in my coupons, to trying to figure out rolling scenarios. It can be a lot to try and figure out on your own! But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be saving tons of money and having fun too.
Do I Have the Right Item for this Deal?
I know how frustrating it can be when there are no tags up at your store. And even when there is a tag up it can be a bit confusing to figure out what exact item you are supposed to by buying. So I thought it would be helpful to show you how you can confirm that the item you are buying is indeed the item that qualifies for the Register Reward deal.
Take a look at the picture above.
You’ll notice that there is a 6 digit number in the bottom right corner that I’ve circled.
That’s the magic number that you’ll need to match up the deal on the sign
to the item you need to buy to complete the deal and get your Register Reward.
Here’s a closer look at the sign, in this case our magic number is 533432.
That is the actual item number for the item that qualifies for this Register Reward Deal.
Now we need to find that item on the shelf.
So you can see here that this item seems to match the description
of the item listed on the sign but how do we know for sure it’s the right item?
See that number I’ve circled for you down in the bottom left hand corner.
Does it look familiar? It’s the same number listed on the Monthly Register Reward sign, 533432. Now you can be positive that the item you are buying is indeed the one listed as qualifying for the deal. If you have a problem you can quickly point out to the staff that not only did you check the description but you checked that the item numbers matched too! 🙂

Great Tip!
There are 8 WAGS in my city and two put out only about 10% of the available red RR tags and Sale Tags. Sadly, these two stores are located in the poorer part of the city. It’s the old the rich get richer while the poor get poorer scam. When I shop at these two stores, I am treated as if I were stealing their retail items. And since I use coupons, the sales clerk has to read and re-read every single coupon. Seldom do their Catalina Printers work, and the staff has very little knowledge of couponing or WAGS coupon policy. Everyone should be Eyes Wide Open when shopping at WAGS and ask questions when tags are not set out. Great Job on your new site, I have told everyone I meet about your Wild for Wags Site.
I’m new at shopping at walgreens and I have made a few mistakes in the placement of items/coupons to the cashier. Both managers and a few of the regular cashiers treat me like I’m trying to scam them. They are not at all helpful and have even been really snotty to me. There are never prices on things and I always try to ask first but still have troubles at the checkouts for one reason or another. Once, I tried to buy dove deodorant for $1.99 with a $2.00 coupon and the cashier said it could not be done. I said I was sorry and put the deodorant back myself so I wouldn’t cause her any trouble. When I got home I noticed that she charged me $2.99 for the deodorant that I had put back. I have learned a lot from this site. Thanks.
You mentioned in this one about the coupon order. I sometimes have issues with that and I always realize it after the fact. Exactly what order do you need to use them. I think for me it has been hit or miss. I am newer to Wags and am really just now starting to take full advantage of them.
The most important thing is to give any Walgreens store coupons AFTER you Manufacturer Coupons. I’ll be working on a post about this topic but for now remember Manu. Q BEFORE Wags Qs.

The clerk at My WAGS told me a few weeks ago that I need to give the WAGS store Q’s first then hand over the manuf. Q’s. She is awesome to help a newbie like myself figure out the best way to complete multiple transactions. I’ve been doing it this way rather than the way you suggest. So I’m wondering why she would say use the WAGS Q’s first?
Well, she may have been told that’s what she needs to do, or she may think she’s helping you. Here’s an example of what I mean… This week my area had an extra Wags Q that made a 15pk of water $1.99. I had a $2 off MQ for water. Water was priced at $4.50. If I had given her the Wags coupon 1st that made the water $1.99, I wouldn’t have been able to use my $2 off coupon. (Wouldn’t allow for the penny of overage) So the water would have cost me $1.99. By giving her the MQ first, the water went down to $2.50 with my MQ and then the Wags Q took off $2.51. Allowing me to get FREE Water & a penny of overage. Wags Qs take off a set amount (in the water example $2.51).
I hate the way you have to use filler items…sometimes I forget and I end up having to grab something at the last minute when I am at the register. I try to plan the filler item too so I get the most for my money, but you know there are some of those day where planning is just not happening. The brain refuses! I had a wierd transaction there recently and no matter what we did the register was not accepting my RR finally the little cashier man said “I give up and we are starting over” he returned everything and rang it up again. Did nothing different (that I know of) the second time and all was fine.

The cashiers at my Wags know the in flier coupon codes and usually enter them without my even giving them the Wags coupon…so usually I can’t give them the coupons in a specific order.
Wonderful! I hate going to a store where nothing’s marked! I had this issue a month or two ago with Neutrogena lip care, and duh, I didn’t even think to read the sign. The sign that was on the tub, but not the tube. Thanks so much. This is great!

I agree with the order of coupons. The clerk in my store (the Dalles, OR) said they HAVE to take the WAGS coupons first, then the Q’s. Bummer. Oh well. I usually have no troubles because I always have filler items anyway. 🙂
I never understood the importance of handing over coupons in a certain order.

Unfortunately, my local Wags requires that I had over Walgreens Qs BEFORE Manufacturers Qs. They don’t want any chance of overage…

Hey guys, since I started working in January, I see about 5 ladies come in who have coupon folders and accordion binders out, and save save save all the time! Our store is pretty cool in that we don’t care what order it is. I admire these ladies and just today I asked one how she does it, and she directed me to this site! If you ever get a chance to befriend a Walgreen’s associate, and have no limit to the Walgreen’s coupon order, I would try to get them to buy stuff for you with your coupons, because they get 15% off of most items, and 20% off of W brand stuff (except Milk and Cigarettes, because it’s a government thing).
What can we do if our Walgreens doesn’t have signs up for their sales? Have you had any luck asking them what the codes are for the RR sales?
