I purchased them on sale for $2.59 but no RR are printing today. The clerk called for a manager and I waited around for about 10 minutes but the manager could not be found.

I think the Free Playtex Catalina only prints when you buy tampons. I bought two things of pads in one transaction and didn’t get anything, but they were out of more pads so I got one box of pads and one box of tampons in the second transaction and a Free Playtex Catalina printed out. The Catalina was for tampons so think the Kotex tampons is what is triggeng it.

How do I link my picture to my blog? I am new at this and I can’t figure out to just get it to go to the picture and not my whole blog.

Agree with Sarah C.B. In one transaction I purchased 2 boxes of panty liners and got no Catalina. In a second transaction I purchased 2 boxes of tampons and got the Catalina. Did the second transaction 2 more times at different Walgreens and got the same Catalina. Yay for free tampons!

My local Wags have not had the Clearanced Secret, someone had cleared the shelfs. I found a shelf full of them today at a Wags about 40mins from me. I was so excited. I had three ready to purchase. Well after the 1st transaction no RR printed out. Manager was called, sign and ad verified that the RR should have printed. No explanation as to why they didn’t. The manager scanned a different Secret Clinical and got the RR to print and gave them to me. Now that I have read your post I feel lucky to have gotten the one that I did today.

The catalina did NOT work for me today. I live in MS.

I actually bought 4 boxes of Tampons and no FREE Playtex! That Catalina machine just didn’t like me! LOL!

I bought one today from my local Walgreens and it did not produce the RR. I got the same product at this particular store, so I asked why the RR did not print. The old lady said that “you wont get a register reward if you pay with a register reward”, but I paid with the Dial RR so she obviously has no idea what she’s talking about! I just smiled and left. Sometimes its better just not to argue, especially when you know you’re right!

My experience was similar to jessica in post #6. The manager removed the RR sign after.

I bought 1 Dial & 2 Ziplock bags, then used $1 Dial, $1.50 Ziplock, $1 IVC(Ziplock) and they scanned my $3 RR(from clearanced Secret), the register beeped and didn’t take RR. Manager came over and told me that the IVC count as a coupon! I added a $0.09 folder then register took the RR. Is this true? Their policy has changed? Or because I used a RR from that Secret deodrant?? If they count IVC as a coupon, I have to change all my scenarios from now on. Did anybody experience like this?

Drew August 12, 2010 at 10:09 pm

If you look at your receipt, the IVC now rings up like a manufacturer coupon.

Christie August 12, 2010 at 11:10 pm

Karin – The problem was that your Ziploc coupon was $1.50/2 correct? That is going to attach to (2) items. So the Dial $1/1 attaches to Dial, the $1.50/2 attaches to (2) Ziploc bags and you had nothing for the RR to attach to. I don’t think the Wags Ziploc coupon was your issue.

Hope that helps!

Drew-Thank you for the reply. Yes it says MFGC for ZiplockIVC. I didn’t notice that!

Christie-Yes I used $1.50/2 coupon. And I really didn’t know that coupon attached to 2 items!!(the total of the items was 3, so I thought I could use up to 3 mfr coupon including RR) Now I understand why this issue happened!! Glad to know IVC doesn’t count as a coupon and I will be careful to use those $**/2 coupons. Thank you!!:)

Hey all–I justed wanted to send a heads up. I live in Northern Idaho, in the Coeur d’Alene area. I have 3 Walgreens within 15 miles of eachother, and with the exception of 1, the other two managers are starting to go on power trips. Because Walgreens doesn’t have the corporate coupon policy, they give the “guidelines” to follow. Walgreens Store #1 is only allowing customers 1 RR PER WEEK! WHAT?!?! How do they figure that is fair and HOW, may I ask, do they think to police this?

Walgreens #2 isn’t as bad—on Sunday they put into effect a 2 transaction limit. Not horrible, and I understand that (to a degree). Someone snuck in Sunday and bought every single one of the Dial body washes, leaving none for anyone else. This is still my favoriate store, and everyone knows me, so I’ll still be going here.

Walgreens #3—everything goes! They don’t care how many transactions or how many coupons. Love it

My cousin and I had an experience where the assistant manager was downright rude to her, didn’t allow her to purchase ANY Dial bodywash because she remembered her from earlier that day, and then spoke negatively to me about her, not realizing we were together. We sent a letter to customer service, and are awaiting a response.

I’m starting to get a little peeved with Walgreens. I think the #1 thing I hate is the dirty looks you get from clerks when they know you’re a “couponer”…so sad. 🙁

Hi Christie
I’m new to couponing and haven’t ever use coupons at Walgreen’s. I love your blog and the way you list out your tractions with all the details. 🙂 But I have a question: In transaction #1 you bought 4- U by Kotex $14 and used 1-$2 OFF Kotex or U by Kotex 18pk Tampons, 14-24pk Pads, 48 to 64pk Liners, Aug. Wags Coupon Booklet (Takes off $4)… the part i don’t understand is the (Takes off $4)…. does the 1 coupon automatically apply to all 4 boxes?… or does the cashier know to do something special?… i seen this with other deals and have been curious as to how it works… Thanks
Also do you hand over the Wags coupons first or the Manufacture ones?

Thanks again

Hi Charity – Welcome! 🙂 Yes, with the Walgreens coupons the coupon will automatically apply to however many you buy. So, like the U by Kotex when I bought 4 it took off $2 each so $8 off. And when I bought 2 boxes it took off $4. Nothing special has to happen, it just automatically does it. Pretty cool huh?

Always hand in the MQ FIRST, then the Wags Qs. You can do RR, MQ then Wags if you want or what I do is MQ, Wags, then RR. So I do it just like you see in the transactions I post.

I’m glad posting them has been helpful to you since it’s a lot of work to post and I never know if it really helps! LOL. So hearing it makes me feel better. 🙂
