Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 4/17!

by Christie Bisbee on April 16, 2011

Here’s my scenario for 4/17. In this scenario you’d spend $3.48 out of pocket and end with $5 in Register Rewards and $29.82 in merchandise. So Walgreens is paying you $1.52 to take all this! 🙂

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS
-) You can’t have more MQ than items!
-) I don’t include tax in my scenarios because taxes vary dramatically.
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) Blue are MQ, Red are Store coupons and are not included in your coupon count.
-) If you don’t find the Peelies on the NasoGel it’ll be $1 more & you won’t need the pencil.

Is it just me or do the NasoGel peelies not have an expiration date??

Reply

Christie April 17, 2011 at 2:43 am

I don’t have any peelies at home to check so I don’t have the expiration date to include.

Hi christie, I’m just wondering if I can use the $1.00 colgate coupon from the diabetes and you magazine that they have at the pharmacy? The reason I’m asking is because I don’t see it posted anywhere and the coupon that I got from that date in my inserts it’s only 75 cents so it would not be free! thanks again for everything that you do!

@Yolanda didn’t those expire 3/31?

Reply

LA April 17, 2011 at 2:49 am

Mine expire 5/31/11 (spring d&y) So @Yolanda: I see no reason not to use them if those are the ones you are referring to.

Yolanda April 17, 2011 at 9:33 am

Just got back from walgreens and I bought the reach toothbrush and I got a 1.00 off any reach total care catalina!

Reply

Kiapita April 17, 2011 at 11:20 am

Did you get the RR too, or just the Catalina?

Reply

Carolina April 17, 2011 at 12:55 pm

I got both the RR and the catalina!

Kiapita April 17, 2011 at 11:17 am

I’m confused by the first transaction. It looks like it assumes overage received on the Scotch tape, but I thought Walgreens will not give you overage.

Just got back and the Scotch tape deal worked like a charm! Bought 3, gave her the 3 man. q’s first, then in ad. Took of $1.00 3 times and then $3.98 for the in ad! Make sure you buy something else to cover the overage and you will be fine!

Read on mashupmom as of 9:30pm Saturday the Always $4 RR was rolling.

The Goody Hair Accessorie(s) didn’t ring up on sale, nor did it print the $3 RR — watch these.

The Excedrine PM’s rang up at my WAGS for 2/$7.98 (basically 5.29 + 1 at half off) so make sure you pick up at least 5 to trip the $5 RR.

I was told that the Goody Ouchless RR deal only covers the items pictured. It doesn’t cover the elastic bands even though it doesn’t state any exclusions.

madeline April 17, 2011 at 1:05 pm

The Goody ouchless were not on sale and they did not print a RR at my store either

Be on the lookout for the peelie coupons on the scotch tape for $1 off a greeting card for purchase of one scotch tape. Got 3 .99 cards with the 3 tapes for overage. Also, there were B2Get1 free coupons for the MM’s in the 3/13 RP. Got 6 bags for $2.00.

What is the Easter Gift Tumbler? Also does anyone know were I can get another Colgate coupon? I got 2 smartsources from that day but one didn’t have a coupon in it.

Reply

Christie April 17, 2011 at 4:20 pm

Tumbler is just a plastic kids cup. It’s a good filler though!

Tammy April 17, 2011 at 4:51 pm

I had a $1 coupon in my 4/10 SS. It is for Colgate Max or Total.

Is the Scotch tape Q everyone is using the one for Scotch poster tape? That’s the only tape I see on the pdf.

Will Transaction #1 work with a Register Reward if I add another non-couponed item (like a Russell Stover egg)? Would like to use an RR if I could and spend less OOP.

If it will work, at what point do I hand over the RR? Before or after the store Q?

Reply

Christie April 17, 2011 at 8:20 pm

I usually hand them in after everything (I like to think of it like money). 🙂 Yes, you can add in a chocolate and use a RR to pay!

Reply

Kiapita April 18, 2011 at 9:50 am

Thanks! I’ll try it and let you know how it goes.

Reply

Kiapita April 18, 2011 at 8:43 pm

It went great! I threw in a Wet & Wild nail polish for 69 cents so I could use my $2 register reward. After the RR, it came out to $2.16, which included tax. Without tax, the total was around $1.50 – so I guess I could have used another $1 RR, but then I would have had to buy chocolate, and I think I have enough of that from the past few weeks!

Thanks so much for your great website and your help with my questions. You have totally changed the way I shop for the better – I save money and it’s a lot more fun.

The last couple of times that I have visited my Walgreens and paid using my RR’s on a purchase, the RR’s that I was due on that purchase did not print out. The manager told me that when you pay with RR’s you cannot get additional RR’s with a purchase. Is this something new? I have always paid with RR’s and have had new one’s print up if I was entitled to them in the purchase.

I’m kinda confused…. So the Scotch tape Q is in Pdf file, so are you just printing out 3 of them? Isn’t that fraud? Or is it okay because they put it in pdf? Do I need to have 3 diff computers?

Reply

Christie April 18, 2011 at 1:37 pm

Kellie – Scotch puts their coupons in a pdf, that’s how they do it. Printing them (1 ,2, 3, 10) is not fraud. You can print them all from one computer. Some companies choose to limit you to 2 print per computer, but Scotch does not.

Just tried Scotch tape with a $2.99 refillable type instead of the $1.99 disposable. Thought it would end up being free, rather than the money back deal on the $1.99 ones.
It is the same length/width as the 1.99 type, but in a different dispenser.

Even though the $2.99 ones should work with the MQ and the WQ, according to the description on the coupons, it doesn’t. The manager offered to enter in the coupons manually, but would ave had to enter the WQ as an MQ, which would have been too many coupons. So I just ended up not buying them.
