Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 2/27

by Christie Bisbee on February 26, 2011

UPDATE – I’VE UPDATED THE SCENARIOS TO REFLECT WHAT I FOUND AT THE STORE THIS MORNING!

Here is my scenario for 2/27.ย  In this scenario you would get $46.93 in merchandise. Youโ€™d spend $3.95 out of pocket and end up with $9 in Register Rewards. So you are being paid $5.05 to buy $45+ in stuff! Yeah! ๐Ÿ™‚

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS
-) You don’t have to all of these in one day, you can pick up where you left off.
-) Blue are manufacturer coupons, Red are store coupons & donโ€™t count in your total.
-) You canโ€™t have more MQ than items!
-) I donโ€™t include tax in my scenarios because taxes vary dramatically.

Has anyone tried to do the mortin scenario. I would like to do this scenario but not sure if the coupon will beep. Thanks much

kristin February 27, 2011 at 9:08 am

The coupon did not beep!!

Reply

CarrieD February 27, 2011 at 12:15 am

Since this uses the March book coupon do we have to wait until the 1st to do Trans4?

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 12:27 am

Carrie – The March book starts tomorrow! ๐Ÿ™‚

Where can I get the $4.50 Sinex Vicks coupon? Is that in the weekly ad? Thanks!

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 12:27 am

Yes – it’s the in ad coupon for Vicks that will take off the $4.50. If your store has it priced at $7.49 then it will take off even more. It’ll take off whatever it needs to to make them $5.49 each.

Tonja February 27, 2011 at 12:55 am

So, do we have to spend the $20 before or after the Wags In-Ad coupon? 3 of the Sinex before or 4 after? I normally only buy 6 papers – and really didn’t want to buy 8 just for the Sinex deal.

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 1:11 am

Tonja – It seems to be working when you hit the $20 at the BEFORE in ad coupon (yippeee!).

Tonja February 27, 2011 at 1:18 am

Thank you so much Christie for all that you do!!! You are wonderful!!

The vicks deal did not work for me. My vicks came up at 6.99 and the 4.50 came off but no $10.00 back. Anyone else have this problem?

Jennifer February 27, 2011 at 8:31 am

This is probably a stupid question, but if there is a RR for a product, can I buy more than 1 or 1 “set” of items needed in the same transaction? Like last week I did the greenworks deal with the peelies to get them for $1/bottle after RR. I had the girl do 2 transactions, one for 2 bottles and another for 2 bottles. I wasn’t trying to roll the RRs, but I did that because I was afraid that it wouldn’t print both RR’s.

Reply

Stacy February 27, 2011 at 11:10 am

I have the same question!

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 11:14 am

You did the right thing. If you had bought all 4 in one Transaction you would have only gotten 1 Register Reward. One deal per transaction.

Reply

Jennifer February 27, 2011 at 12:48 pm

I’m confused about the motrin rr then. It says that it’s a $3 RR when you buy one bottle, but she has it listed to buy 2 in order to use the $6/2 coupon. Do you still get both RRs??

Reply

Jennifer February 27, 2011 at 12:49 pm

Whoops… i see now on your notes that you get back ONE $3 RR. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m going through my Walgreens ad and the coupon for Vicks specifies 20ct NyQuil or DayQuil, or Liquid, 10 oz. or Formula 44 or Child’s NyQuil, 6 oz.–doesn’t say anything about Sinex???? Has anyone had success using the in ad coupon for towards the Sinex?

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 11:14 am

The in ad Q does work for the Sinex.

Kristina February 27, 2011 at 9:38 am

Hello! I just came back from walgreens, as I was getting some free baby magic and toothpaste, I found pantene hairspray marked down to $1.29, I bought 2 and used 2 $1/1 coupons, so I paid $0.60 and I got $2 RR back!! Yeah!! was not expecting that!

Reply

Lucy February 27, 2011 at 9:45 am

Thanks much Parker. I want to try this deal than try to get baby magic for my babies

Reply

marie February 27, 2011 at 9:52 am

other websites are reporting that the sinex deal ended yesterday…. anyone tried it today?

Reply

Sue Heemstra February 27, 2011 at 10:05 am

Yep, no RR for me on Sinex

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 11:15 am

Please see my updates from the field post. The Register Reward for Sinex was not supposed to end yesterday. Walgreens advertised the dates thru 3/26.

Reply

Stacy February 27, 2011 at 10:30 am

Do the in ad coupons vary by region? I can’t seem to find the 4.50 off Vicks Sinex and I have LOOKED! This is my first week shopping Walgreens and I love your site! Thanks so much for all of the information!

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 11:16 am

It’s the same coupon for the other Vicks products that makes them $5.49.

Reply

Xiong February 27, 2011 at 12:59 pm

is there a limit to how many RR will print out?
for example, I buy 5 items that will get RRs, will only 3 print out or will all 5 print out?

Reply

Christie February 27, 2011 at 1:01 pm

Xiong – As long as they are different items, you’ll get a 5. If you buy 5 of the SAME item that produce a RR you’ll only get one so don’t do that. Hope that helps!

Xiong February 27, 2011 at 1:06 pm

Thanks!

Reply

LoriN February 27, 2011 at 10:17 pm

I was on another site that one person posted that a man took the last 20 Motrin so she was not able to get one. If it didn’t print an RR for each one, why would anyone do that? Just curious if it is always true that you would only get 1 RR if you buy more of the same item. Sometimes the ad says only one RR per offer. It didn’t say that by the Motrin. Thanks.

Hi Christie, my first mission is to try to locate some 2/27 P&G inserts… bought a paper last night that only had a SS insert. Then today’s paper which is delivered (which is not the same as the one I already had) only has a SS insert as well. I hope I can find at least one paper with a P&G insert – otherwise I am really limited, and there are some great deals this week. I’ve never had a problem with getting the P&G insert in my paper til this week.

Its so fun shopping at wags when your total is so low!
So here’s a summary of what I purchased:

(3) Hydrogen Peroxides @ .50 each
(1) Super Poligrip @ 1.99
(1) Aquaphor Lip Repair @ 4.99
(1) Colgate Enamel @ 3.99 (I GRABBED THE WRONG ONE!!)
(1) Baby Magic Hair& Body @ $3.00
(1) Altoids Mint @ $0.69
Total: $16.16
Coupons used:
-$0.50 Wags Q for hydrogen peroxide (ours weren’t .33)
-$1.00 Wags Q from Diabetes and You
-$1.00 MQ from Diabetes and You
-$1.00 Super Poligrip printable
-$1.00 Aquaphor Lip printable
-$10.00 RR from Neuragen (I was able to find one last one at a diff walgreens after feeling sad my closest wags didn’t have a sale nor RR for it.. lol)
My subtotal before taxes resulted in 1.66
And I got a total of $9 in RR back… Not to bad I guess, but I didn’t make any RR after spending my 10 RR ๐Ÿ™ it sucks I bought the wrong colgate cuz it was right next to the 3 different colgates eligible for RR and i was super excited and just grabbed the one for strong enamel lol (although I’m not sure if it actually does what it says).

I just love this blog. Thanks for all the work you put into these updates.

Reply

BETTY MICHEL March 9, 2011 at 1:31 pm

next time do your RR transactions separate you should have gotten one from the colgate and the other from the baby magic you would have gotten back 6 RR

I went to wags today and wanted to do the motrin deal with the $6/2. The manager told me it was for the MotrinPM only (as pictured in the ad). I questioned him, but he didn’t agree. Is the deal working with regular motrin 24 ct? I don’t need the PM, just the normal mortin! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

Reply

Xiong February 27, 2011 at 10:43 pm

when I went to one wags today there were no stickers for $3RR on the regular motrin but the MotrinPM had one. When I went to a different wags later this evening there was a $3RR sticker on the regular motrin but none on the MotrinPM… I didn’t buy it at the first wags but at the second wags I bought the PM cuz I had the printable coupon and it came up at the $3 sale price as it says on the wags ad. Like Christie usually says, you can always take it and ask them to scan it. ๐Ÿ™‚
I might go back tomorrow just for the regular Motrin since the second wags had the sticker, and more baby magic for my daughter.

Sybilla February 28, 2011 at 12:53 am

No Motrin PM 20ct at any of my 3 stores. Do we know if this is working on the regular Motrin 24ct?

Reply

Xiong February 28, 2011 at 12:25 pm

update on regular motrin..
So I went this morning and it doesn’t work on the regular motrin, only on the PM…
But the manager did give it to me for free because the sticker was on the regular one. Very nice lady. maybe I should go to the far walgreens more often.
they also had a price mistake on the avent 2-pack bottles at 5.99 each – 2.00 wags coupon so it would’ve been 3.99…
So the register rang it up at regular price and the manager also gave it to me at 3.99 each! Boy was I happy!
