Mr. Clean Magic Erasers $.07 EACH!

by Christie Bisbee on May 4, 2011

I always wait till the beginning of the month to pick up my P&G cleaning products because there is usually a P&G Register Reward Deal the first week of every month.

My favorite deal this month is on the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2pks. You can grab those for as low as $.07 each with the Register Reward deal. Plus be sure to look for the ones with the $3 in P&G coupons inside. Bonus!

I’m always looking for a way to get Febreze Set & Refresh cheap (I’m obsessed!) so of course I’m throwing in one of those! Prices for these will vary slightly so just make SURE that you reach $10 before coupons.

BUY
4 – Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2pk $1.94 EACH
1 – Febreze Set & Refresh $2.61
Total = $10.37
(4) -$1.50/1 Mr. Clean twin pk or TWO any other items (spray, liquid) 5-1-11 PG x5/31
(1) -.50/1 Febreze Set & Refresh 5-1-11 PG x5/31

=$3.87, Get Back $3 RR
= $.87 or $.17 EACH!

There is also a $1/1 on the Febreze Set & Refresh in the P&G Organize In Style and P&G Brandsaver. So if you have either of those do this…

BUY
4 – Mr. Clean Magic Eraser $1.94 EACH
1 – Febreze Set & Refresh $2.61
Total = $10.37
(4) -$1.50/1 Mr. Clean twin pk or TWO any other items (spray, liquid) 5-1-11 PG x5/31
(1) -$1/1 Febreze Set & Refresh P&G Organize In Style or P&G Brandsaver

=$3.37, Get Back $3 RR
= $.37 or $.07 EACH!

*I called Mr. Clean and spoke to a rep who checked for me and told me a twin pack is the same as the 2pk, She also told me that the twin pack was available at CVS, Walgreens, Kmart and Publix in my area. So I feel confident in using the coupon. 🙂

What is required to buy to get the $3 RR? I only have 1 coupon of each and I don’t really have a need for the Febreze so I wanted to just buy 1 pack of the Magic Erasers.

Reply

Christie May 4, 2011 at 12:47 pm

Well – You have to hit the $10 for the $3 RR, but honestly… I pack of the 2pk of Magic erasers for under $.50 just with the 1 coupon is a GREAT deal, even without any Register Reward!

Reply

Sarah May 4, 2011 at 1:17 pm

Ok. So even without the RR are they still $1.94 before any coupons? Online price says $2.24.

Reply

Christie May 4, 2011 at 1:45 pm

Sarah – It’s going to vary from store to store. Also, there are 2 types of Magic Eraser 2pks. One is more expensive than the other. The original one (in my picture) tends to be cheaper.

My $1.50 coupons say one twinpack or 2 other items (spray, liquid, ERASER). Wouldn’t a twinpack be 2 boxes packaged together? I’d like to know if you did this deal yet and if they let you use one coupon for each box, or if it is one coupon for every 2 boxes.

Reply

Christie May 4, 2011 at 1:44 pm

Wendy – I considered the same thing, however after an hour searching for something on line or even at the P&G store for a 2pk stuck to another 2pk… I can tell you I don’t think it exists. There is also a picture of the item on the coupon, so I feel confident that’s a twin pack.

Reply

Wendy May 4, 2011 at 1:46 pm

I’ve seen like bottles of cleaner together so thats why I wondered. If it doesn’t beep I will do it though 🙂

Reply

Melissa May 4, 2011 at 9:30 pm

I have used this coupon at a couple of stores and it has worked no problem at all as a “twin pack” when I buy the pictured box with 2 in it.

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 12:42 pm

I followed up with a phone call to Mr. Clean who confirmed that a Twin pack is the same as a 2pk and that the twin packs are available at Walgreens. So out of the horses mouth! 🙂

Reply

mary mohle May 5, 2011 at 11:52 am

I read on other sites that people did check with the manufacturer and that there is such a thing as a twin pack which is two 2 packs bundled together. The coupon wording states $1.50 on one Mr Clean twin pack OR TWO Mr Clean items (spray, liquid, eraser)so I think you would have to use one $1.50 coupon for every 2 of the 2 count boxes that are purchased since Walgreens doesn’t seem to sell the “twin” packs.

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 12:25 pm

I looked on the P&G estore HERE to see if I could find something like that but I couldn’t. I also looked at the Magic Eraser Website HERE. I can’t find anything that’s a “twin pack”.

If you only use (2) of the $1.50/1 it would still be a good deal at $.67 EACH! 🙂

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 12:43 pm

Mary – I followed up with a phone call to Mr. Clean who told me the twin pack is available at Walgreens and is the same as the 2pk. So there ya go! 🙂 I think it’s just poorly worded and confusing either way.

Reply

Kathryn May 4, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Has anyone tried this? I am wondering if the coupon is meant for like a twin pack, like (2) two packs of erasers together. Or if these boxes are actually considered “twin packs”? I just am trying to avoid beepage…thanks

Reply

Christie May 4, 2011 at 1:42 pm

No it did not beep, and there is a picture of the item on the coupon. Like my comment above says I even followed up with a call after not finding any “twin pack” available at the Mr. Clean site or on the P&Gestore. One thing we do know it’s confusing!

The Tide Stain release is also included in the RR deal because I already did that with 4 of them.

They are on sale for $3.99 so…

BUY
4 – Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2pk $1.94 EACH
1 – Tide Stain Release
Total = $11.75
(4) -$1.50/1 Mr. Clean twin pk or TWO any other items (spray, liquid) 5-1-11 PG x5/31
(1) $3/1 Tide Stain Release
=$2.75, Get Back $3 RR
= $.25 Money Maker?
Am I right?

Reply

Rebecca May 4, 2011 at 2:10 pm

Is it the larger bottles of Stain Release that are on sale? My store only had the small ones on sale and the coupon is for the larger size.

Reply

Mel May 4, 2011 at 6:16 pm

@Melissa…looks good. I’m gonna try it. Thanks for posting it, I wouldn’t have thought of this scenario. 🙂

Reply

Rebecca May 4, 2011 at 6:49 pm

From what i’ve been reading elsewhere it’s only the small bottles of tide release and the 10ct Tide release that are the $3.99, the coupon is for the larger bottle and 15+count on the packets. This scenario won’t work with the $3/1 Tide release coupon.

Reply

Kristen May 5, 2011 at 11:41 am

It depends on which $3 Tide coupon she has. I had a $3 off any Tide Stain Release coupon that came in some Charmin which would make the deal legitimate otherwise you are correct that the size is wrong and therefore should not be used.

If I only have one coupon for Magic Eraser will that work? Did the insert come with four?

Reply

Christie May 4, 2011 at 1:48 pm

If you only have one insert, there is also a coupon in there for $.50/1 Magic Eraser (any doesn’t have to be 2pk). But if that’s all you have be sure you use both. You may also want to mix it up with some other P&G products that you have coupons for in your insert that qualify for the RR.

Reply

Mel May 4, 2011 at 2:12 pm

Thanks for this Christie. I would have overlooked the 50 cent one if you had not pointed it out. 🙂

Reply

Kiapita May 4, 2011 at 3:01 pm

I’m still overlooking the $0.50 one. Is it in the P&G?

Reply

Mel May 4, 2011 at 6:21 pm

Yes, it’s in same insert. But it is for ANY Mr. Clean product, so it doesn’t have a pic of the Magic Eraser.

IF I remember correctly…and it’s a big IF, it’s in the top left corner of a Right page in the insert. It’s smallish.

Reply

Kiapita May 4, 2011 at 8:02 pm

Found it! Also remembered that Right @ Home had some 75-cent Mr Clean coupons. Yay!

Reply

Marisela May 4, 2011 at 2:08 pm

I did another scenario that worked for me since I only had two coupons of each.

(2) Mr. Clean twin pack erasers $1.94 each
(2) Tide Stain Release $3.99

Total: $11.86

(2) $1.50 off Mr clean eraser
(2) $3.00 Tide Stain Release

= $2.86 and get $3 register reward back.

Rebecca May 5, 2011 at 7:19 am

The tide stain release coupon is NOT for the same size Tide stain release on sale for $3.99 this week. The coupon is for the larger sizes! The one on sale is the smaller sizes. Please do not use the $3/1 tide stain release coupons as it is coupon fraud.
I understand mistakes can be made, even when the coupon scans w/o incident. PLEASE PLEASE read the find print wording though.

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 12:45 pm

There is a $3/1 out there with no size restriction. That one would be ok. The one from 5/1 is the larger size.

Reply

Rebecca May 6, 2011 at 9:46 am

i completely forgot about that one! Please forgive me, i should not have assumed anything. I have just seen elsewhere people encouraging others to use the $3/1 from P&G 5/1 because it doesn’t beep so “it must be ok” which we all know isn’t.

Reply

Lisa May 6, 2011 at 10:04 am

I have the tide stain release ones with no size restriction, they came in the charmin sensitive toliet paper deal.

Reply

Christie May 6, 2011 at 11:23 am

It’s ok Rebecca. No worries. 🙂 It’s hard to keep track of all the coupons out there.

Reply

Kiapita May 4, 2011 at 2:54 pm

Amazing! Too bad P&G limits you to 4 like coupons. I have to figure out something I would want besides Mr. Clean …

I just did this deal! My store didn’t have the Febreze Set and Refresh but the Febreeze Air Effects were also on sale for $2.46! Here’s what I did…

4 – Mr. Clean Magic Eraser $1.94 EACH
1 – Febreze Air Effects $2.46
Total = $10.22

(4) -$1.50/1 Mr. Clean twin pk or TWO any other items (spray, liquid) 5-1-11 PG x5/31

(1) -$1/1 Febreze Air Effects 5-1-11 PG x5/31
=$3.22, Get Back $3 RR
= $.22 or $ .055 EACH!

No Coupon Beepage!! Thanks so much for posting this deal!

msrossdaboss May 4, 2011 at 4:46 pm

I noticed the box of erasers had a $3 in coupon inside box. Does anyone know what coupons they are?

Reply

Kim M May 4, 2011 at 5:28 pm

My walgreens did not let me use 4 coupons because the coupon said twin pack and they consider a twin pack 2 stuck together. The cashier said that she got in trouble for letting me use my coupons the other day but the only coupons that I used were the B1G1 free body right guard bady wash. Anyway I think that if it was anyone other than me she would have just put it hrough. Oh well, I still have 4 coupons so maybe I’ll try this at the other Walgreens. If it works there I think I’ll return the ones I just got.

I would not have left until a Manager came to the register, and if he wouldn’t let them go through, I would have been on the phone calling corporate, and letting them know, that you still have stores that are clueless when it comes to accepting coupons, and not knowing their own coupon policy, anyway I know it’s sometimes easier going to another store. Since I go to many of them is South Florida, I like to nip it in the butt, before it gets out of hand. I always tell them, if it doesn’t beep, it must be cheap.

Better luck next time.

I just did this deal and turned it into a money maker!! Bought the same thing Cheryl listed BUT added 3 rolls of Scotch tape, used the wags in-ad coupon for .39, and the printable Scotch tape Q at http://www.3m.com/brands/scotch/promos/welcomecoupon.pdf Handed over my wags coupon last, and my total was 2.90, getting the $3 RR back, made .10!! 🙂

Reply

adam May 4, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Isnt the scotch tape coupon in the pdf only for the magic tape which is not this week?

also why dont you just buy 6 magic erasers = 11.76 – 9 (6 $1.50 off coupons…= $2.76….making it a .24 MM?>???

Reply

lori May 4, 2011 at 10:31 pm

Because it states on the coupon you can only use 4 “like” coupons per transaction, so you couldn’t use 6 at once.

Reply

adam May 4, 2011 at 10:40 pm

is this a deal just for this week or is this a monthly deal??

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 12:07 am

Just this week.

Reply

Carrie May 4, 2011 at 10:54 pm

I tried this deal today…
At my Walgreens the Magic Erasers were $2.24 each, but they only had three, so I bought one of the $2.99 Magic Erasers Extra Power. This made over $10 in products. I used (4) $1.50/1 coupons. I used $3 RR from the Noxema razors. BUT then I did not receive the P&G $3 RR!!

The assistant manager tried ringing it up a second time, without coupons, and that time the RR printed… Anyone else experienced this?

Benny May 5, 2011 at 6:49 pm

If I had to guess maybe it is a mistake. Noxzema used to be owned by Proctor and Gamble so maybe something somewhere needs to be updated to reflect the fact Noxzema is no longer operated by PG

Reply

margaret May 5, 2011 at 1:29 am

I did this deal 🙂
New to this so still getting the hang of it.
3 Magic erasers $2.24 each used 3 $1.50..didnt have 4, i had 5 p&G inserts but only 3 had the coupon as well as the ivory coupon 🙁
2 febreze air effects sprays 2.46 each used 2 $1/1

total 5.14 plus $3 rr so not bad I guess.

I did 1 big transaction, including the above I also got
fixodent cleanser
candy bar
floss (no coupons:( )
2 off clip ons (9.99)
subtotal $11.45 and I got $4 rr 🙂

Nancy May 5, 2011 at 6:57 am

Is the $10 requirement based on the “pre-coupon” totals? It looks like it is from the scenarios, but I wanted to confirm. The WAGS closeset to me always has a limited stock, so I appreciate the different scenarios posted. Would buying (3) of the Tide Stain Release for $3.99 each and using (3) of the $3.00 also work?
Thanks

Reply

Julie Smith May 5, 2011 at 12:13 pm

The Tide Stain Release for $3.99 are the smaller size products. The $3 coupon is for the larger size products. It will probabky work but not very ethical. There is a $1 off ANY Tide Stain Release you could use on the sale products. Hope this helps.

Julie Smith May 5, 2011 at 12:14 pm

Oops, probably. Should have spell checked, lol…

Reply

Christie May 5, 2011 at 2:15 pm

If you have the $3/1 from some of the specially marked packages that’s fine because those have no size restriction. The one from the 5/1 P&G are for the smaller sizes.

Well I spoke to a very nice lady at Mr. Clean yesterday (who probably thought I was nuts because I kept asking her the same question different ways). She kept giving me the same answer, that the twin pack and the 2 pack were the same thing.

So, the one thing we know for sure is that the wording on that coupon is confusing!

Based on her answers I feel comfortable using the coupon.

Worked for me today except my story has soooo few products. I complained last week after having a bad shopping trip with them giving me a huge hassle about coupons. Filed a complaint to corporate, got a call from my store manager… apparently they had a meeting to discuss coupons and had no problem this time. Was very impressed that they took action on my complaint 🙂

I did the deal and did not receive the RR. Manager came and said I needed to spend $10 after coupons. They rang transaction a 2nd time and same thing…returned items. Not sure why it didn’t work for me.
